Priyas has always been a favorite restaurant of mine. My ex and I were frequent patrons, there. Each time, we would spend $30-40 each time. Being a South Indian guy, I like this South Indian place for its huge delectable Dosa, the Thaali that reminds me of Hotel Rajesh in Bangalore, etc. Well, today was disappointing. The Sambhar on my Thaali was stale. The staff asked me if they could give me something else for it. Sure they were trying to be courteous, I guess. See, the thing is , I try my best not to spend money on restaurants like I used to, before. So, going to Priyas happens only when I am not able to cook or I just want to give myself a break. Today was one of those days. It was nearly $20 after tips. To me., this was money NOT well spent, with the stale sambar and all, especially after driving 25 miles each way in bad weather. Before serving anything to customers, I would think they need to make sure what they bring out to the table is fresh. I guess mistakes do happen once in a while, but to people like me, spending 20 bucks is a big deal. The restaurant has always made me happy in the past, but after this, I dont think I want to go back in a while. And my general peeve about Indian restaurants is they dont seem to listen to your suggestions or complaints as seriously as other places. Everything seems to be taken in a casual manner.

This has quickly become one our favorite Indian restaurants. They have some different items on the menu that you dont see at most Indian restaurants. My partner likes spicy food and I dont, and they have items that suit both our spice preferences. Im also vegetarian, and my partner isnt, and there are plenty of items we can both eat. We ate there a couple of weeks ago for dinner and had excellent service. Our cups were never empty, and our food came out quickly and at a good temperature. I ordered the Mysore Masala Dosa, which ended up being too spicy for me. They quickly made a Masala Dosa for me instead, at no extra charge. My partner reccommends the Chicken Vindaloo if you like spicy food. We are and will cotinue to be loyal customers.

Overall its bad experience. Hospitality - We went with our family and friends to have nice lunch and asked them to merge the table as we have 8 members but the staff was rude not accepted that. Food - Not taste good, especially no Biriyani, Chicken curries are not pleasant. May be its my bad day but none of the item is good. Rice items were totally dried. Price - Comparitively less, but we expect real South Indian food with good taste. For the management - Im writing this review to improve your food as you operate in USA where many international customers access to it. Thanks.

I come here for dinner at least once a month and usually have a pretty positive experience overall. I went to their lunch buffet on Sunday and it was absolutely horrible. I was surprised. The chicken curry looked like it was old. The chicken was shredded. Seemed like it was recycled from the night before. The goat was okay. The dessert was horrible. Mango liquid with shredded fruit. At least make an effort to make it more like custard. It was disgusting. I also feel this place could use a deep clean. The carpet is old and dirty. Their staff is always nice and courteous.

we ate at Priyaa on 1/23 and were very pleased with the portion size and the food in general. we shared the vegetable samosa which was the biggest samosa we have probably ever had and the entree portions were the same. two people could easily eat from "one portion" and get full. a word of warning though their spice level skews a little toward the hot side. We both got the "medium" which had a little more kick than we expect from a medium; though, not so much that your mouth is on fire. We would definitely go back here if we lived in MO

Worst Experience, avoid this restaurant if you need good South Indian food. 1. Bad hospitality. 2. In buffet items once completed, to refill they took 15 minutes that too after 3 times requesting them to refill. 3. There was NO biriyani in their buffet menu either Veg or Non veg. 4. White rice not fully boiled. 5. It was so much suffocating and they havent turned ON the A/C. 6. Gulab Jamoon didnt soak overnight and served just prepared one so it was full of flour itself. Overall avoid going and opt for other Indian restaurants.

I have been going to this restaurant for 15 years and I really wish I didnt have to do this because it was my fav place and had spices that would make me feel incredible. However, this place has gone so far down in quality. The health dept might want to visit. You can just look up at the vents and see the place hasnt had a deep cleaning ever since opening. The frozen vegetables and lack of freshness of the food. I just dont think the owners care or have a passion to continue to evolve and run this business. Its sad.

Very Horrible Indian restaurant dried Tamarind rice, dont have enough staff to serve the customers. All food pans are empty in Lunch Buffet at 1:30 pm and we asked the old man looks like one man show at front side he is always telling that food is getting ready to fill up pans but he never filled up Pans till closing time 2:30 Pm and we paid for lunch without eating much. The old man is very careless about the complaint of food taste and is trying to avoid talking about the food taste and issues in his restaurant

This is our favorite Indian restaurant in St. Louis. We used to live right down the street and ate here all the time. Then we moved to St. Peters and we drive in a couple times a month because we just havent found anything that is as good for the price. The portions are ample. The Thali dinner is a great value as it seems the other places weve tried have the same components a la carte: entree, rice, raita, three soups, pooris and naan. Love, love, love Priyaa!

Stupidest thing happened. I ordered two hyderabadi biryanis to go with a request for extra salan(the side which comes with traditional biryani). They not only charged extra which no one ever does but gave sweet veggie pulao in the name of biryani! This is blasphemy! Why cant they just say thats what they have instead of ruining the name of good ol Biryani? I also asked them to pack it properly since we were driving out for three hours but that didnt happen either.

Looks like old and laid back restaurant. Order something to take out and it is just horrible tasting probably like week old food just sitting there, which is microwaved and packed. The funny part is I have order biryani once a while ago to take out and i got like 3 different tasting biryanis, Which means the Chef did a great job in Mixing the leftovers from previous days and reheating them. This is a horrible Experience to me.

Had a vegetarian thali. Each little dish of soup or lentils was more delectable than the last. The sauces were rich and flavorful, the breads were chewy and delicious. The staff were so helpful and kind, one of our party ordered a dish that takes a long time to prepare so the chef sent us some scrumptious appetizers to tide us over. We ate all over St. Louis last week and our dinner at Priyaa was our favorite meal.
