First time here, last time here. 1030 pm on a Friday and we are on the patio watching the "servers" serve 3 tables around us but bc this section is now open seating we were told by the manager that we have to order our drinks and food from the bar and serve ourselves. Wow. He later came back to say if we were to move to a table inside he would have a server for us...mind you "inside" is literally 30 feet away. What a joke. Im sorry to have to make your servers walk. Poor example of customer service. Poor example of quality. Im writing this as Im staring at the two servers that told us they wouldnt be serving us are standing and talking to one another not doing a thing. Unbelievable. With all the options here I think Ill explore some more. Good luck, HopCat....so on the edit, we received the food, our lady friend asked for Mayo from the bartender, and got the reply "someone will bring it out to you"...after waiting for about 10 mins shes now going back up to ask again.. manager Danny, one server named Sarah.

If I could leave less I would. We come in after the ku game tonight and our friend who is excited about our UCLA bet was instantly not served. The manager saw him excited about the game and thought he was drunk and said we dont serve drunk people here at hopcat like they have some high standards. The kicker here is he literally had one drink before. Hopcat is too good for the people apparently. On top of that we got kicked out of our indoor table because some older "decent" people came in and needed it so we were sent outside by the heaters that were out of propane. Really had high hopes for this bar with the 150 taps (even though you only get a fifth of them upstairs) but it is definitely not a KC bar.

We went on a Tuesday evening at about 8pm and had a party of 11 people. The bar area was empty and the roof was about half full. The host at the entrance told us that thered be a wait (approx. 1.5 hrs) due to our party size and we had a minor so we had to be out by 9/9:30pm (he wasnt sure himself on the time). Its disappointing, because my first time there I had a great experience but after this one I dont think I will come back. I would understand a wait or required reservations for large parties if the bar was busy, or remotely appeared busy, but half the staff was standing around mingling amongst one another. There was a couple behind us who witnessed the whole thing and decided to leave also.

They first bring us the wrong order, the cheese on the loaded fries was very salty and after a while we get our food, I got the mac and chaz sandwich and it was ok but all the ingredients tasted old, as if they were sitting is the kitchen for a while and just throw together. After we were done they took my card and ran it serveral times but each time stating it was declined so my boyfriend had to walk to the atm and take the money out of the same card, came back and the first time the change was wrong so we had to tell them. Overall not the best experience, our server was sweet though.

Stopped in here to have a beer and pretzel nuggetz. The beer was good but took a long time to get. The server apologized b/c he thought we would have had the beers after 7 min from ordering but we didnt. The pretzel balls didnt take too long to get though. They were soft and chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. They came with cheese and mustard. Very good. Would get again. The only complaint was the waiter disappeared and we had to track him down when we wanted more water and when we wanted to cash out. Overall though would go again if in the area.

I loved the atmosphere and unique art work. I cant wait for a sunny day to enjoy the rooftop and you cant beat $5 Bloody Mary bar. Best martini Ive had/made. The ranchero eggwich was delicious. My boyfriend wasnt too impressed with the Mac sandwich however the fries were best I ever had. Well definitely be back but request not to be put in the back. There was a number of employees walking through to the office. And the cherry on top, they strive to be a sustainable business in about six different ways. Thats important to me.

We sat at the bar. Initially, was served our drinks and food menus, no problem. After that three bartenders continually ignored everyone at the bar. All three walking back and forth with each other talking with themselves and ignoring their customers. This went on for 45 minutes. I had to yell a few times at a bartender going by in order to get looked at. Decided to get tab and get food elsewhere. Trying to decide to try again down the road, but not sitting at the bar.

The first time I went here our waiters changed (probably shift change) and at the end it took forever to get my ticket, with most of my party leaving and once I got my ticket, there was extra food on it that I didnt order but had to pay for anyway. My second visit was a complete 180. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and was a great help in making a drink decision with their extensive selection. Im glad I gave it a second shot and will be going again.

Went here during happy hour and surprisingly, it wasnt busy in the restaurant. We didnt get the chance to sit on the beautiful rooftop, because it was raining. We started out with drinks from the bar and loaded cracked fries, which were delicious! For lunch, we had chicken and tilapia tacos on flour and corn tortilla. The chicken was dry, but the fish was amazing! The only thing is that service was VERY slow for drinks and food, but it was great.

My wife ordered a basic pepperoni pizza and, though it was thicker than we expected, it was incredible light tasting it was with a sort of herb taste that managed make a pizza taste incredibly fresh. I order the Cowboy burger with high expectation which were flawlessly met. My wife and I couldnt stop exchanging plates because both items were so excellent. The beer choices stand head and shoulders over neighboring restaurants.

I was very disappointed. The styling, setup, and beer selection was very impressive. Ordered one drink, and then we were forgotten about. Watched 3 other tables come in, order, and get their food. Next, my girlfriend approached the bar tender (who was also our server) to order, and was told to wait. I ordered the pretzel bowl chili, and was served a bowl consisting of 75% sour cream, 25% chili. Horrible experience.

Hop Cat kc is a little pricey, and always slow. Even when the place is empty it takes forever to be helped. Last time we went, our fries took over 25 minutes to get to us and then they were burnt and the toppings were cold. Then the pizza they make is a soggy square mess with hardly any toppings. It is disappointing because Ive had a great time at Hop Cat in other cities.

The new swanky place in Westport! This place seems like it will thrive. It has a huge menu selection (a few of my friends said the menu was hard to read because it seemed disorganized). There are a few different seating areas: by the bar, the back room, upstairs, and outside upstairs. The good was good, and the happy hour prices were a great deal ($5 off burgers and pizza!).
