We dont come to Corner Cafe very often but when we do we usually have a good experience. Today May 22. 2016 was a HUGE exception! First off, it took 3 (yes I said three) waitresses) to decide who was going to wait on us. The first waitress came over and took our drink order, the second waitress after several minutes cane over and said I guess theres some confusion on whos going to wait on you so Im going to do it and took our order, then a third waitress came over and said well I guess Im going to be your waitress. We told her we already had our order taken but she said yea I know with a kind of attitude and walked off. When we finally got our food we sent the sausage back because it was raw (and I mean REALLY RAW!) My fiances chicken fried steak had zero breading on it and FINALLY when we were done eating I went to the restroom where there were two women using both stalls, one was taking care of business for a LONG time while the other woman was in the stall TALKING ON HER CELL PHONE! I had to use the restroom at the gas station! I realize THAT was NOT the restaraunts fault BUT after all the other things that had happened tonight the restroom was just the icing on the cake for me! They did give us a piece of pie but while we were having dinner there was a couple of other plates that went back through the window to the kitchen too for reasons unknown but when you get your food like that is it really surprising that other people had problems too??? Probably not a bit surprising! Needless to say we wont be back again anytime soon! TERRIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE BOTH TONIGHT! If I didnt have to give it a star at all I wouldnt have!

Super disappointed. We were told a wait time of 15-20 minutes to be seated... waited much longer than that.... it took about 10 minutes after being seated to even be asked what wed like to drink... by that time we knew what we wanted after seeing and hearing all the upset customers saying how long everything was taking... we placed our order two soft drinks with two cinnamon rolls. It took another 10 minutes or so to get our drinks and another 30 minutes for our cinnamon rolls. It probably wouldve been faster to just order them at the front and eat them in our cars but we wanted the sit down environment of the restaurant. However we were seated at a corner table by a window with incredibly visible dirty blinds and our seats were filthy. I had to go find a waitress to ask for paper towels so I could wipe the seats of myself. They were incredibly busy and I feel could have used a lot more employees to be on h d. We were also not served well by our waitress... had to ask her for refills if we wanted them and also a box... on the plus side our cinnamon rolls were delicious.

Typically great service, and usually an overall good experience at Corner Cafe. But my last visit was very disappointing. The bus boy - very tired and overworked, was putting too many plates on his tray while cleaning a nearby table. As he walked by, he dropped a couple of plates - broke a few glasses, and sent one plate onto our table, nearly missing my friends sons head and landing hard in front of us, spilling water all over. Im not a "something for nothing" person, but when you drop a plate and it nearly hits a child in the head, and sends water everywhere, its nice for the manager to come and check to see that hes safe - thats why I rated it a 3. But just stopping by and checking vs. a little something - free dessert or at least comping the kids meal would go a long way towards future business.

Took my senior parents to CC for lunch today. Horrible experience and will never return to this location. Our server was only adept at making excuses. Took orders from other tables first, which was quite rude. Brought my fathers entree about 15 minutes prior to everyone else. When 3 remaining meals arrived, items had been sitting in window for quite some time, returned due to lack of proper temperature...nothing like cold, greasy onion rings. When the manager finally arrived at our table her utter disregard was quite apparent. Zero eye contact complimented with excuses is hardly proper behavior. Would not recommend this location to an enemy. Will only visit the Riverside location in the future.

My waitress was very friendly, attentive, and efficient. Today I ordered a corner omelette and hashbrowns, with a generous amount sausage gravy. Very good. Worth noting, their sausage gravy is legit, not the canned, pre-made stuff you get at most places. I recommend that everything you order (breakfast, lunch or dinner) be slathered in gravy, youll be glad you did. My only issue is that their prices may be a bit steep, $27 for two omelettes and two cinnamon rolls, water only. However, youd be hard pressed to find a better breakfast in Clay County. Ill be back.

Great sit down restaurant to take a date or your family. Service is fast and friendly. It is a very popular place, especially on Sunday, so expected a fair wait time from 5-20min. I went on a Friday night one time though about 5pm & was seated in 5min. Just depends on day/time you go. Food was home style, generous portions, & excellent quality. I love their breaded pork tenderloin! Decor has country style charm. Their desserts are wonderful too! Prices are moderate $$. A must try if you are in Liberty!

These people have really cut every corner they could with the quality of the food. The eggs they use in their omelets are the imitation type out of a can. Bacon isnt what it use to be and the prices have gone way up. They even have the waitresses cleaning the place and not a professional cleaning company and it shows....smelled like a dirty mop when we walked in. Heard they are opening another location. They should stop being greedy and get back to the basics that made this place a good place to eat.

As always, good classic American comfort food. The service is always excellent, and while certain dishes lack seasoning, they get most of the staples just right. The Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes is a favorite of my husbands, though I prefer mine a little thinner. Ive tried nearly everything on the menu and like most (often with a little salt). The mac and cheese is pretty flat, but the vegetable dishes are nearly all tasty, and I really enjoy the breakfast options - amazing hashbrowns!

I still think about the meal I had here and it has been well over a year. Pork chops, grits, biscuits and gravy....not a normal breakfast for a New Yorker, but while is Kansas City I follow suit. Everything was DELICIOUS; and I am a good cook, so I am pretty particular. Service was quite adequate. If I did not live 1,248 miles away, I would be eating here several times a week. I look forward to coming back to Kansas City to eat here again. Highly recommended to say the least.

I will have to say this place is amazing. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly, warm-hearted and inviting. If you are in the neighborhood I highly recommend this place and be prepared for a good laugh. Ask for the same server we got "Lewinda". His real name is Lewis and the staff have a running joke with him, referencing the name change. I cant wait to come back and eat in the family friendly, down home style restaurant. A++++
