I strongly believe this is one of the greatest Ramen shops in U.S.(Ive been to almost all big cities such like NYC, Chicago, Houston, LA etc., also spent approx. 30 years in Japan, so understand what exactly "Ramen" is). Based on Authentic Ramen taste, also their true heart and passion toward Ramen is included. I had both of "Shoyu" and "Shio", these are AWESOME.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while and have even recommended it to some friends of mine that love traditional, Japanese ramen. Well one of those friends said this place was something I needed to get out and try, so we did. First off its small and quaint, perfect for a place like this. I loved how welcoming and inviting it was. The menu is very simply, you have four basic choices of ramen to pick from as well as an impressive bottled craft beer selection. I ordered the Kimchi because it comes stock with all of the add-ons (egg, chilis, veggies, etc). Wow, wow WOW! The flavor was incredible. The portions were perfect. There was really nothing not to like about this place. Also there are a ton of PokeStops near by, which is a plus if you are a player. Due to the size of the shop there can be a wait, but they highly encourage that you get in, eat, and get out so the next person can enjoy. I cant wait to go back!

I feel bad leaving a poor review, but Columbus Park Ramen really just left me disappointed. The meals were a bit overpriced, and the portions were really small. The music was blaring, so I was not able to communicate with my friends very well. The flavor was underwhelming for the three different dishes we ordered, and the shop is only open for a small amount of hours. The water and dishes smelled like wet dog, as well. I can tell the employees and owners are putting in effort, but changing a couple of things (portion sizes, music, food quality) would have changed my entire review to five stars. Maybe I will come back if things change in a few weeks, but for now this review will stay at 2 stars.

The BOMB! Went here after an event, found it through Google Maps. This has got to be the BEST Ramen place we have been to yet. I ordered the Tonkatsu. The pork literally melted in my mouth. The vegetables were very fresh. I usually dont like soupy dishes but at the end of all the noodles, meats & veggies, I couldnt get enough, I finished even the broth! My son got the Kim Chi one and he was in absolute heaven. My daughter got the Chicken and she raved about hers, too. Being in the restaurant industry myself, I can appreciate the freshness of the food. This is the kind of place that I would take visitors to; its a MUST!

Feel bad to leave kind of bad comment here... but turns out really disappointing.. Oily and really salty broth. Chicken is fine egg is good, but the noodle is way far from what is called "ramen" in my expectations and knowledge. Environment is nice tho. But when the combination of chewy thin noodle with dense heavy taste broth.... Comes out not a great ramen experience(its bad..). And it is so expensive(for what we got out of it) Ended up an upset disappointing evening. The bubble tea are sooooooo sweet too. So sweet and so salty and so oily and so expensive.. Ergh......not again.

The meal was just ok. The broth was tasty and miso was good, the chicken in the soup was dry and tasted like it was old/frozen, the kimchi soup was seasoned well. The bowls are huge and made by a local artist but portions are super small for the $12-$14 they cost per serving. The staff is friendly and attentive but the environment is strange(16 seats total). This is a 1 car garage with a bar and stools to one side (8 stools), two 4 top tables (8 seats), a couple of employee areas and the kitchen. Very dim lighting, so you cant really see what you are eating, and blaring music.

Incredibly overhyped and left disappointed. I had the tonkatsu and it was extremely salty. In summary, food was mediocre at best, service was fine, and everything else about the place was just trying too hard. Its $12-16 for a bowl of ramen --all add ons (veggies, chilli paste, etc) are extra. Its as if the owners went to SF and discovered a ramen shop for the first time and decided an overpriced, overhyped, super trendy ramen shop in the middle of a struggling neighborhood was EXACTLY what KC needed.

Our service was great and the food was awesome. Went on a Friday early evening it wasnt to busy so we got a table outside right away. I ordered the mushroom and my lady friend ordered the kimchi we also ordered some oysters (which were out of this world). The sound of our slurps and giggles perfectly illustrated our joy. Nothing is better than a big bowl of hot brothy noodles on a cool fall evening.

Loud and hipster if I had two words to describe the atmosphere. Small inside with just two tables and maybe 10 seats at the bar. A few more tables and bar seating outside. The tonkotsu was great. Noodles were chewy and bouncy though not particularly alkaline. Broth was amazing. Chashu seemed fatty to me. Also cant believe they charge two dollars for a soft boiled marinated egg.

I liked the environment, but the food... I can appreciate an artistic spin on ramen, but I find it weird that they couldnt find the funds to put in real corn (used dried corn). If youve eaten ramen in NYC dont expect flavor on that level here. The broth was thick (which is nice), but not as flavorful as it should be at that kind of consistency.

Honestly one of the best meals Ive ever had. Jeffery, our server, was friendly, prompt, and made good recommendations that my wife and I loved. Food came out extremely quick, taste was absolutely amazing. Thats pretty much all we could stop to say.... How good it was. Mainly, "God damn this is awesome!" we will be coming back here often.

I loved the kimchi! And after a drink and finishing my Raman I left stuffed! Which is a nice feeling for a runner! The shop is quaint and the servers were friendly. My friend and I got there when it opened and we didnt have to wait. Though some may say its "over priced", as a college student I will be returning soon to enjoy this treat!

What a great meal! We had the seasonal pickle plate which had, pickles, mushrooms, kimchi and one more thing I cant remember. My hubby had the Shoyo and I got the mushroom ramen. Both were very tasty and very different in flavor. The service was great and the food came out quick. We are planning on going back soon!!

Meh. Im a big fan of Happy Gillis, but this just seems like a feeble attempt at riding the wave of the latest food trend - ramen. A step above packaged ramen (although the noodles seem the same), but nowhere near as good as what you get in the Asia Pacific. Not even on the same level. And super expensive!!

Enviroment is awesome. Kind of industrial style in a garage with good art. Most importantly the food was ok...ive honestly had better ramen from a box. Especially for the price i dont think the quality is worth it. I hope they improve. It was a Thursday at 3pm fyi. Not busy. I wont be going there again.
