On Friday (1-09-15) my girlfriend and I went to Gulf Shores for dinner now, I dont know if I was too excited to try the place and that my expectations were too high or what... But the place was a MAJOR disappointment!! I ordered the Jambalaya with Red Beans and Rice and Hush puppies for the sides. I was only able to stomach about six total bites of the food. I was the worst attempt at a "Cajun" meal that I have ever had!! The Andouille sausage that they advertised in the Jambalaya was nothing more that Polish Sausage, what a let down!! The only thing worse than the food was the service. The waitress was inattentive and coulndt care less about our dinning experience. I sent back a full plate of food that I could not eat and she didnt even bother to ask what was wrong with it, she just threw our check on the table and quickly ran away to avoid any kind of confrontation. I tried calling to talk to a manager, well.... The lady whom I spoke to said that I had to speak to the owner(Harry) and that he would call me back on Saturday. Well here it is Monday and I have still yet to hear from him. I tried to call and talk to him on Saturday and he told the hostess that he was "too overwhelmed to be bothered with a phone call." Needless to say, neither myself or my girlfriend will be back there for any reason what-so-ever. Service and food like this, Gulf Shores will not be around for too long... This is in reference to my previous review of Gulf Shores entitled "What A Joke" from 1-12-15 It has been more than a week since I posted my review, after about five days Harry(the owner) left a follow up on the review apologizing and asking what he can do to make my "experience" better. Well... I have tried to contact Harry several more times to talk about my poor experience. Each time I am told that he will call me back, after two weeks, I refuse to believe that he will. It is obvious that he only commented because it was a review left on social media and he is trying to look like a "stand-up" guy that cares. This is definitely not the case.

I went there with a group of 20 ppl earlier today. Although reservations were made 2 weeks ago, there was still a wait. (1) The initial reservation was made for 15 ppl, however one of the nice host ,a tall man, was willing to make accommodations for this birthday party. He gave us a table that sat 16 and a booth for the other 4 but we had to wait until all 20 ppl were there, even though 18 ppl WAS there already. (2) After we were seated, a server named Joe came over to the booth with the extra ppl and told them to move bc the table was reserved and they had customers already waiting. (3) That is totally understandable, so the ppl moved from the booth. A family sat in the initial booth and a new one was free next to it, so the extra 4 ppl ..they had arrived by then..were told they could sit there by a different waiter. (4) Joe came back over there and argued with them for 5 mins about how "so many" ppl were waiting to be seated and they couldnt move to the booth. One of the ppl in our party said, "we can just leave bc he is not letting us sit here"..Joes Exact response was "ok bye, see ya!" and walked away. (5) All 20 of us left bc you do not treat customers that way. When we walked outside, there was literally..ONE lady waiting for a seat. (6) The owner, "Harry Potter" was of no help, he said Joe did the right thing and he saw everything on camera; also that he heard Joe telling the table to move. (6) I use to frequent this place and this is my second time having bad service, so welp you just lost business. The place is already slightly overpriced and most of the food leaves much to be desired, so customer service should be top priority, but you probably dont care Mr. Potter but word of mouth is not dead; you will see given the look of the rest of these reviews.

I had heard many good things about Gulf Shores and was anxious to try it - that was about a year ago, and it was literally some of the best food Id ever eaten. That first time I was in a party of 8 (family), but since then I have been there several more times just with my wife, or with wife and kids. FANTASTIC FOOD each and every time. I have been there enough times now that I really feel like the "one star" reviews on this site just have to be some kind of orchestrated attack - I drive a pretty great distance to get to the place, so you better believe I would not do so if it was not well worth it. Drinks are pricey (like 10 dollar drinks) but if you just stick with the daily drink specials they are a great deal. I am a clam chowder freak, and Im picky - theirs is so, so good. Clam chowder perfection. Id like to see their take on Manhattan style, I bet it would be amazing. The seafood pasta dishes I have had are just flat out spectacular. The Blackened Shrimp Pasta - out of this world. Ive had most of the sides by now, and never been disappointed. I see a lot of comments about chewy gator bites, and that is one thing I cannot comment on - have no desire to try those. The lobster roll is delicious but my one suggestion would be to make sure the filling goes all the way to the ends - big bites of "just bread" at the ends is no bueno. In summation, I totally vouch for this place and I continue to look forward to eating there! EDIT: I have had two Lobster Rolls there now since writing the review above, and sure enough, both have been "filled" end-to-end! They are not only reading these reviews, but actually taking action. Im impressed. Thanks Harry!

Starting off the atmosphere is awesome. My Particular Server very helpful. Staff was nice. I took my wife there for our first Anniversary. I would say I was taking a bit of a chance because this is a seafood restaurant and Im allergic to shellfish. Must of the appetizers are cross contaminated in the deep fryer so I was able to order anything. I saw that I could order baked and boiled items. This was brought to my attention after informing my server of my concern and he gave me a list of things to steer clear of. I ordered the trout which came with steam veggies. To my knowledge I was in the safe zone but after digging in to my veggies I noticed a reaction starting. I wrote it off as fear and imagination. But I stopped eating and took a to go container. When I got home I took a Benadryl and kept my epi-pen on standby. The next day I warmed my food for lunch and started with a bite of the veggies and instantly got the same reaction from the night before. My though is...Is that with this place being set to mimic New Orleans style cooking my veggies where boiled in selfish water. I was so upset and wanted to make a big fuss but decided to sit back.. But its probably best that I warn others that may have an even worse reaction than me before they enter this establishment. To the management my name Is Justin Collins my Anniversary was March 22, 2016, my wife and I entered in at about 7pm and sat near the fish tank on the side where the musician played his lovely music. Please look into you contamination practices.
