DO NOT GO HERE! This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced! I ordered 4 separate orders over the phone 30 minutes before the orders were to be picked up, on a one hour lunch break time limit. I was told that the orders would be ready in 10 minutes. I showed up, at the time that had been previously stated in said phone call, and informed that I was there to pick up an order that had been called in. I proceeded to wait 30 minutes before the waitress came back over and verified the orders, once again 4 separate orders. I waited another 15 minutes before the orders were brought out and was told the total as a whole. I informed once again that the orders were separate and needed to be paid separately. One order was charged $2 for chips that are given FREE with every meal. All of the orders of salsa were half filled and the bean dip that was ordered was barely existent in the large container it was served in. We were not acknowledged while standing at the counter for almost 45 minutes waiting on something that should have already been cooked and ready to go before we got there. It was a very disappointing experience as I have always enjoyed every El Maguey location I have been to. I WILL NOT EVER patronize this location again! I hope management looks at these things and knows that his employees are rude, inefficient and have the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

This is the by far the worse El Maguey i have ever been to. I will never be returning. I had ordered for my office which was five separate orders. To start with i had wanted to pay separately, the man working told me he could not split it up that he had no time for it. I thought he was joking at first, so i laughed and asked what the first total was. He then told me again that he is not splitting it up, so i paid all together. Then when i got back to the office every single order was soggy and cold, the portions were poor defiantly not like what it use to be. We use to order here often spending 60 and 70 dollars for lunch. No one in my office will be returning and i am telling every one about my horrible experience. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!

Having lived in Mexico let me just say...this is not mexican food. If you have never eaten food in Mexico or at least southern california, you pretty much have no authority to rate this place. The only reason it gets one star is because the food is out fast. There is one sure sign of true, good authentic Mexican food, and that would be that other Mexicans are eating there. The only ones you will see eat at El Magueys are the wait staff (who by the way have there food made to order not from the menu). If you want anything remotely close to Mexican food you will have to travel down to Cherokee St or better yet go over to Espinos in Chesterfield.

Everything was timely, orders arrived as requested. The waiter was not perturbed by all of the changes/questions I asked, despite the place being packed and him being the only waiter. I got the tamale deluxe, which was well prepared, came with a lot of lettuce, cilantro, etc. and the white cheese dip was flavorful without being overpowering. They seem to be one of the last places that still offers fried ice cream with real oil (upon request), which is a bonus for me. Overall, very satisfied with the experience, and consider this El Maguey my "default mexican place".

I typically frequent the Bridgeton location (the best one) but today was closer to the Woodchase location. The "salsa" was nothing more than pounded tomatoes; it was like ketchup on my chips. When I asked the manager where the cilantro and onions, other salsa components were, she said some of the customers didn’t like cilantro and that they don’t use it anymore. That some of the customers complained about the flavor. The restaurant was also dirty and our server was condescending and rude. AVOIDE the Creve Coeur location at all cost.

First off, the chips were stale and tasted like they had been out for a while. The salsa was definitely cheap and not homemade. I came in and nobody was there. Ordered the Pollo Loco, and when I got it, the presentation was very bland. Took one bite of the chicken and it tasted frozen and chewy. Very unpleasant. The rice and refried beans were substandard as well. Also, many flies were in the restaurant. Only good thing was the customer service, since the guy was very nice. Zero stars for food, 2 for customer service.

This is the worst restaurant i have been in my life and i had the worst experience. Poor Service. The Bald Server was horrible and didnt serve us well. They served after 20 minutes and wants to close the place at 10:30 PM. Poor service, Poor food and the place was empty. They are going down in flames. I saw few plates when we entered which are not eaten at all. Some serious issues and spoiled food. The server got into an argument and we left without eating. Horrible experience. Stay away from this mexicannn illegals.

Steer Clear of this place. Salsa was half frozen and used sub par Cilantro (the taste was soapy instead of astringent soil imbalance). Cheese dip was so so, had no spiciness. Pollo Machiano was inedible, the chicken could not be cut the cheese on top was melted at least 10 minutes before it got to me as it was firm and chilly. I still at it. The guac and pico was good. Beans were also inedible. This is a shame how crappy the food was I used to eat here all the time 6 years ago. Not sure what happened.

I went today with my family and I can say we all ordered something different and 5/6 of us were disappointed. I came here a year ago and it was great this time my tacos were cold and the beans looked like they were from the day before my wife ordered the Fajita Pita chicken and it was terrible the chicken was very tough and there was more unions and peppers then chicken. Service was good and attentive but this place is not what it used to be. Not coming back until I here they have raised the quality.

When my friend and I entered, we were immediately being judged by the wait staff. They kept staring at us and speaking in Spanish to one another instead of sitting us. Then when they did decide to sit us that sat there staring at us again and speaking Spanish and laughing. The whole time we felt uncomfortable. This is not the only time I have had terriable service but I sure learned my lesson to never come back!

We used to come here regularly but the food and service have gone downhill dramatically. Our last visit we got stale chips followed by no chips when we ask for fresher ones. That was when the food was delivered which was the only time we saw our waitress. Our appetizer came with dinner and was cold. No refills for drinks when the food was delivered. Food quality isnt what it was either. We wont be returning.

Tilapia Fish had a very bad smell & taste - may be old & spoiled and they had a terrible service as they wouldnt replace the dish. Waste of money and very bad experience i have been going to this place since 2004. The service & the food quality is diminishing rapidly. No wonder it is empty most of the time.
