Giving one star for view of river. Other then that huge disappointment 35 anniversary dinner party of 12. We were having family portraits on river. Our son went to get seating and was told we can sit on patio immediately or 2 hour wait inside dining. We decided patio as we had small children that were hungry. Stopped the photographey session early and ran to resturant. We all got there and they sat our table with another party. We were told next table in minutes. We brought cake from bakery and Was rudely told no outside food could be brought in. "it is our policy" Danielle manager said she would give us a free dessert for our celebration. That does not serve a party of 12. I have been in hospitality business for years and have never heard of this policy from store bought.. Went to lower patio for drinks. Waitress overwhelmed with tables. 10 tables one waitress doesnt work well. My husband went to bar and ordered drinks. Over $ 70.00 first round as we bought bottle of champane to celebrate. Was told by waitress they could seat us at one table as soon as a party leaves or push two tables together for us. I told her lets wait for big table so we could all sit together. 15 minutes went by and I seen big table get another round of drinks. Children were hungry. Decided to put two tables together. We all sat down, nice table lovely view. Just starting to enjoy looking at menu. Danielle again rudely walks up to table and screams. OUR POLICY IS: we cant put tables together. As waitress cannot work around them. We kindly said. We would pass plates around to help waitress. Nope.. that was shot down. Then our daughter noticed two tables together in middle of patio and stated: How do they get around that table? With no proper answer DANIELLE walks away. There was no kindness in her voice no at she was going to work this out in any way. The tables all around us could not believe what just happened as they all were wishing us HAPPY 35 years. And commented on what a beautiful family we had. At this point. We had our first table seated by other party and had to wait over an hour. Could not celebrate with lovely cake our grandchildren bought us. Had to get own drinks. Was told we could sit at tables pushed together. Then when we sat. Was told we had to move and separate tables. We were all shocked. We decided to leave. Could not imagine what the rest of our dining experience was going to be. We went to Waterstreet inn. We were treated with the upmost respect. Lovley atmosphere. Food was amazing. And celebrated with our beautiful cake. Bill was over$ 500.00. Sorry our money was not good enough for Dock cafe. And they ruined our experience. But was very happy in the end with Waterstreet inn. We have been boater numerous years on River. I will not be back at Docks. To many other amazing resturant to go to and be treated with respect.

So disappointing. Before we sat down, we informed the staff that my sister had a gluten allergy and they assured us that they could accommodate her (they couldnt 100% guarantee about cross contamination but pointed out several options that would be safe for her to eat). She ordered a caesar salad with NO croutons. No big deal, right? She got her salad and after eating several bites, she found a crouton. If you are familiar with allergies, this is a huge deal. The manager came to our table and apologized. She said a crouton must have fell into the salad by accident. Mistakes happen yes but when the manager tried to compare my sisters allergy to her lifestyle choice "I know how you feel, Im a vegetarian." this was completely inappropriate. They made a new salad but the damage was already done. My sister was sick that evening ruining our night out. When the bill came, nothing was taken off either. Really crappy. They dont seem to take customer service serious at all. I hope those that have allergies AVOID this establishment.

A "longed-for" nice meal out was a terrible disappointment. The "wait" was too long. I saw others with drinks while they sat on the patio, but no one offered me anything. And sitting for 30min only to be seated at a plastic table and chairs for the meal? Thought this was going to be nice?!? The waiting wasnt yet over... took forever to get drinks and food. I ordered the walleye (which, over the years, Ive heard so many wonderful things). It was tasteless and greasy. The vegetables were so bland, after putting lots of salt and pepper, I barely tasted a anything. The only redeeming value (and the reason I gave two stars and not just one) was the desert, which was obviously not in-house (looked to be prepared elsewhere and merely unwrapped). $50+ for a poor meal made me feel poorer for having chosen this place.

We sat on the patio. It was my wifes birthday and she loves sitting on the patios. I do not like fighting with flies etc for my food, but thats another story. The food was GREAT. The price was a little high, especially if you want a salad or soap with your meal. BUT I do not like water being served in a clear plastic glass that you get at a beer keg party. The waitress took our drink order, but never asked us again if we would like another drink. She brought my wife an icecream desert with a candle, but never asked anyone else if they would like a desert, or asked her if she would prefer something else. So I guess the blame goes to the management and the waitress, but not the cooks, as I mentioned the food was great. Im not going back. It would be a better lunch place, but not at these prices.

I had a blackened tuna with wasabi, ordered rare. It was really fantastic. My drink was really strong too (St Germain I think?) It was a bit spendy, but the quality of the food and the ambiance of the setting totally made it worth it. One thing I wish they would change: They have a seating area where you can wait for a table, ordering drinks and appetizers. It really would be better if you could just transfer the tab from there to your table. The area was underserved, so when the table was ready, they sent my wife over to it while I had to wait for several minutes to pay for what we ordered there. It was kind of annoying to waiting alone with our appetizer for a server to bring me a check.

Where to begin. It was poor service before we even sat down. We were told to go wait outside until are table was ready. Sat down had to walk to the bar to get are own drinks. Rude wait staff. Rude customer service. Brought out a steak that was suppose to be med rare for 3 people in our party all very well almost like leather. They didnt bring salad out before dinner instead brought it out after dinner. Had to re cook are food for got to bring a few things . Condiments were all gone. Several trips to get are own drink and it goes on no discount no Im sorry nothing. We go here all the time family friends etc. Never been treated like this crazy how service is changing .
