The first time we had Axels was in Woodbury, the service and food were excellent, so recently moving to St. Paul we thought we would go to the one in St. Paul (plus it was on resturant week) WORST CHOICE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! The food was below average, and the service was HORRIBLE. We had a waitress name Sarah S. She came to our table within minutes of us just getting there and asked if we were ready to order. We told her to give us a few more moments... Literally 3 minutes later she came back and asked if we were now ready, again telling her no we are still looking she said she would check back... Then 25 minutes passed and she is would not even look our way. Finally she came back to the table and asked us "Are you going to order food?" 1 person in our group ordered a salad and asked for no tomatoes, when she brought out the food, sure enough there were tomatoes on it and the waitress even commented about telling the cooks not to put them on there. (wouldnt you bring it back to the kitchen or before bringing it out get it correct?) She never asked if we would like another drink throughout the entire meal... I would have understood the length in time if the place was actually busy, however it was not busy at all. Strongly feel she intentionally ignored us and could care less about us being paying customers. This lady strongly needs to take a customer service training class or find another job. I WILL NEVER GO BACK NOR WILL I EVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANY FRIEND, FAMILY MEMBER OR ASSOCIATE!

My friend and I came here on Valentines Day and nothing about our experience would ever lead us to return. First, we had made reservations in advance, yet we still had to wait for about 15 minutes. When the waitress came to take our drink orders she had pretended to write them down, only to return 15 minutes later to tell us she forgot what we ordered as well as the table next to us. She stopped by our table about 3 times to check how our drinks were but never asked if we were ready to order. So the 3rd time we had to ask ourselves. She offered a 3 dip trio for an appetizer which we declined and requested the roasted peppers. Which clearly didnt matter because she still brought us the dip trio. We werent sure why we received that so we asked if our peppers were on the way and she replied "Oh I thought you just wanted the dips, the peppers were take another 20 minutes, your food will be out soon." And to top it all off she never refilled our waters until it was time to get our bill. Her name is Christa, avoid her if you go there. As far as decor, I was really confused. We were in a room where it seemed like it had a Moose Lodge feel, yet there was a long horn skull which seemed like it should be in a western themed room, and then every other painting was Moose Lodge and rodeo. Not sure what was going on.

The waitress was ridiculous! She brought out the wrong walleye dish for my boyfriend and insisted that it was what he ordered. We asked if this was the Minnesota walleye dish and she didnt even look at the dish she just "Yeah it is, its really good! Try it" But it wasnt it b.c the dish she brought out had green beans, rice with a baked walleye. We showed her the picture in the menu and it looked nothing like the MN walleye. Again, she didnt even care to look at the menu to compare the dishes. Super rude. Never going there again. AND my friends and I were not greeted by a host/hostess. I had to go to not one but two waiters/waitresses and ask if we could get table. The first table was a table to 2 people and there was 6 of us. We again had to ask to switch to a bigger table. The food was okay overall.

Went in on a Saturday night at 11. Place was dead, that should have been my first clue. Sat at the bar and ordered a beer - a tall in a mug, probably a $10 beer. While that was being poured I went to the bathroom, come back to my beer, and it is only about 80% full - I even asked my friend if he had been drinking it. Nope, she just thought it would be ok to pour it below the top part of the handle, no foam. Bartender was incredibly rude when I asked if she could give me the rest of my beer. Basically told me to f myself, so I, completely bewildered at this point, just left without paying. That was my 2 minutes at Bonfire. #1 - Learn how to pour a beer #2 Listen to your customer and apologize instead of asking the customer to apologize. #3 Youre not the only bar on the block.

My wife and I were with a party of 9 on Sunday evening anout 5:30. We ordered the bonchos to split for an app after inquiring about the chips. Wife is gluten free. Told that the chips were corn so OK. Everyone at table ordered entrees, including us. Wife asked for and ordered from GF specific menu. Apps came out ok, everyone but me was served their orders, wife received bread with her GF salad! When server csme back to ask how everything was, I said I didnt get my order. She went back to check, came back to apologize and ask me what I had ordered. I reordered and later received the wrong sandwich! Server came back later to refill our waters, but since I wasnt given a water glass, she couldnt. Needless to say we were not evry impressed with the lack of service.

Went here on a Friday night with a group of friends for a birthday. I will NEVER go again or recommend to anyone. If you like going to restaurants where you wait 45 minutes for a beer, about 2 hours for simple food, and get charged for things you never ordered...then this is the place for you! Service was terrible. There was plenty of waitstaff...waiting around. The kitchen was apparently too "backed up" in a semi-empty restaurant to make an order of boneless wings in less than 2 hours. The waitress did not apologize for the long wait on drinks, food, or the fact that we never had our water refilled in the 4-5 hours we were there. This was quite honestly the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Please avoid at all costs.

I thought the atmosphere was good, the company was great, the service was fantastic, but the food was lacking. The Spinach Artichoke dip was bland, the trio dip offered great salsa, okay guac, and horrible cheese dip (cheddar/jalapeno i believe). My Chicago style french dip was okay - where there was for meat (which wasnt a lot) was very fatty and I found myself pulling out lots of hard chunks (gross) because I couldnt chew through them. The bartender did make a perfect dirty martini though! Kudos to him. Our server was Derrick - he was great! Funny, always had our waters filled, boxed up all leftovers - good man! In all, I wasnt impressed and wont be rushing back anytime soon.

I decided to dine here with my prom date because of the close location to our hall and the prom special. We made reservations a month in advanced and had confirmed them the day of prom. We arrived early to our 7:30 reservations, where we werent seated until 8. From there we proceeded to put our order in immediately. Our prom started at 8:30, and we did not even receive our food until 9 after asking the manager about it. When we got it it was cold. We decided to leave and after receiving our bill they wanted to charge us for part of our prom dinner that we hadnt even received, like the dessert and salads. Absolute horrible service and I will not eat here again.
