Its the closest to been mexican food, love the spicy salsa and most of all carne asada. People are nice & happy. What I do not like : When I ordered my food and wait 20min and theres people ordering after me will get their food first. I wish they could open really early and close at 10pm Es lo màs cerca que llega a comida mexicana, me encanta su salsa picante y màs la carne asada. La gente muy amable. Lo que no me gusta que llego ordeno y espero 20min o mas y llega gente despues de mi y reciben su comida primero. Es ilogico. Ojala abrieran temprano y cerraran a las 10pm.

Disclaimer: Im from Chicago, we have over a dozen outstanding Mexican restaurants. The good: large portions, surprisingly good (not great) taste, decent prices. The bad: ordered 5 tacos and this took nearly half an hour, placed a second order (to go, for the next days lunch) right when the tacos came out for a burrito and quesadilla, that came out within 5 minutes! Not sure what took so long on the tacos, perhaps it was the side of rice and they had to wait on a fresh batch. As mentioned above, taste was good, nothing special whatsoever, and the quesadilla was 40% tortilla, 40% chicken, and 20% cheese. Burrito was rather bland, but the size of a mini-football. They didnt have horchata, that was a little disappointing. The restaurants interior is rather rundown and has a dirty/dingy vibe to it. All-in-all, this is nothing special, but will suffice for Mexican food cravings.

Love this place. The family that owns and run the restaurant is so nice. It is truly a family run restaurant, as their kids are often helping when I come by at night. My wife and I really enjoy the the beef burritos. I am sure their other food is great, but we tried the burritos and loved them and just havent really tried anything else. haha The food is literally made right there in front of you. I like going to and supporting this restaurant as the food is very good, affordable, and I like the idea of supporting this hard working family.

I suppose you could call this a hole in the wall, but its so good. Its definitely the best Mexican food in town, and possibly outside the Cities. Tip for us upper Midwesterners: the sauces can be pretty spicy. They make everything when you order it so it can take a little time to get your food if its busy; so browse the selection of groceries while you wait. You can sit inside, but theres not really wait service. Get it to go.

Call in your order if youre in a rush. You dont know if its gonna be 5 or 35 mins for food. However, its all amazing. Ive never been disappointed and any mistakes they always make right without hesitation. You get a lot of food for under 10 bucks. Green sauce is heaven and this family is very warm and welcoming. Support this place and buy some great meat from their deli. Vegetarian options available on the menu :)

Seriously great mexican food. Everything is made fresh to order. The tamales (usually only available on weekends) are incredible. My weekday order is either the tortas or a pastor burrito. The hidden gem of this hidden gem is the green sauce. Spicy and amazing, Id buy this by the bottle. Long story short, if you are in the mood for the best mexican food in northfield, youve found it.

A small family run grocery store/restaurant with great Mexican food at reasonable prices. Dont pass on the green sauce its amazing. The chicken burrito is also an all star choice. Theres almost always a line but its worth the wait. Just make sure you get your meal to go, the dining space is cramped and that is the only downside to this gem of a bodega.

El Triunfo has become by far my favorite restaurant in Northfield and serves some of the best Mexican food Ive eaten outside Mexico. The restaurant interior isnt anything special but the prices are quite low. I typically order a burrito since it comes with their spicy sauce on the side but occasionally mix it up with a torta.

LOVE El Triunfo. The food is by far the most authentic in Northfield. I would recommend the chicken tacos with avocado. Friendly service, but needs to add recycling. A cleaner/more updated interior would make this a 5 star restaurant!
