Kind of an interesting set of factors contributed to my overall experience. I had a made-to-order sundae. The vanilla ice cream was nice and creamy. The caramel sauce was clearly homemade and delicious. The amount of hot fudge was so minuscule that I have no idea how it tasted. There was a hint of brown swirl in the bottom, but so little as to contribute no apparent flavor. The interior of the shop has almost 100% hard surfaces that reflect sound painfully, making it very noisy inside. I couldnt talk with my partner without getting my ear within about 4" of her mouth. So the bottom line for me (based on only one visit) is mixed. Good ice cream, good homemade sauce, skimpy amount of sauce on the sundae, and very noisy. Ill probably give it another try. Maybe when it has no other noisy customers and a different person is making the sundaes. I think it has potential.

I went on a Sunday around 5pm, it was not busy and my husband and I were given great service. It was our first visit so we needed time to decide what we wanted, we werent rushed, and the employees were ready to help when we decided. I asked for a few samples and they had no problem giving them to me. I got a kiddie size cup of the honey raspberry. It was really good. Their ice cream is more icey than creamy, which could be good or bad depending on your taste. It was a very light and easy flavor to enjoy. I sampled the marzipan after id ordered the raspberry honey, and I wish i had gotten a full cup of that! I cant wait to go again for a full cup of marzipan.

La La Homemade Ice Cream is a nice little shop that offers both ice cream and a small selection of baked goodies that complement ice cream (brownies, pies, etc.). The flavors are great (Sweet Basil Vanilla, Purple Reign, etc.), but the texture of what I got was closer to ice milk than ice cream. I thought it was a little spendy, too. The Twin Cities has a number of great options for ice cream. My experience with La La wasnt enough to make me say "I have to come back here".

Ok so I just went to the beach and I wanted some ice cream. So i went to the closest place and it was Lalas and Ive never been here before and I thought it would be good but I went up to order and picked out a flavor single scoop for $5 and it was definitely not worth $5 it was a little scoop of ice cream that you could probably get at somewhere else for about $2. So if you are in more need of more ice cream then dont come to Lalas

Went in here for soda and ice cream. Wasnt a fan of either. The ice cream I had wasnt very creamy it had these odd crystals in it as if water had gotten into it while churning. Additionally the house made cola just tasted like ginger simple syrup put into carbonated water. For soda I would go to cold front and for ice cream there are many other options to explore.

I was super excited to finally have a good ice cream shop near my house besides the grocery store. I was kind of shocked at the prices.... But when I started eating the raspberry honey ice cream I quickly forgot about the price of the scoop. Omg so freaking good. I went back the next evening and got myself a pint

For an "upscale" ice experience, this is an okay option. The woman who was behind the counter wasnt necessarily rude, but wasnt overly friendly either. With myself and my friend being the only customers on a weekday afternoon, I would have liked to feel like our business was at least appreciated.

I went here after a bikeride around lake calhoun. The staff was kind and flavors were good. I had peanutbutter icecream with reeses cups, and my girlfriend had rhubarb icecream, so ... they defeinitely have traditional and interesting flavors there! Definitely worth the money.

You can taste the "homemade" in these ice creams! The choc chip mint was refreshing, with real mint flavor, not the gross commercial stuff. The cocoa chocolate was delicious. Enjoy your ice cream on the stools by the front window and people watch while you eat your treats.

This place is AMAZING! The icecream is great! Even the dairy free one I had by accident, I didnt even realize. It does cost a little more than normal, but it is worth the premium. Easily better than Ben and Jerrys, and Sebation Joes.

This place is truly fantastic, it is cozy and elegantly put together. We stopped by and had two cones, there is a little surprise in the cone at the end. The owner is very sweet, this has been a pleasure. Thank you.

One of a kind ice cream and sorbet. I tried every flavor (the owner insisted). The basics done well, with a twist. They also serve espresso. Ambience is nice. Reminds me of a little cafe in Europe.

The potential of the faliure of this venue was great, but it rose, and makes ice cream better than I have had before. Fully deserving of the five star reviews that should be given.

Great shop. Smells like freshly baked brownies. Ice cream was fabulous. Definitely worth a stop if youre near Calhoun Square, Lake Calhoun, or Lake Harriet. Yummy!

Dark chocolate sorbet is amazing! But you must love dark dark chocolate! Waffle cones are home made but werent quite browned enough for me. Its a little bit expensive.

Overpriced ice cream is kind of a let down because I got two scoops and my top one fell off onto the floor before I even touched it. No refund or replacement.

Cute place, but like some other people have said, my ice cream had little ice crystals in it. Didnt love the flavor either. Go to Nelsons or Sebastians

The ice cream is phenomenal! Not too sweet like other places and without all the ridiculous flavors that you will only try once and be underwhelmed.

This shop was very well kept and the root beer float with homemade root beer was a very tasty treat indeed. The service was top notch too!

They make the root beer right on the spot when you order a float, my son loved that. I tried the affogato and it was delicious

The lemon ginger ice cream is to die for. I highly recommend this place, if youve got money to burn. Its pretty pricey.
