I came in for lunch. Tables were available, but chose to sit at the bar. Only one other person at the bar. The special was $3 hamburger. Ordered that with pickles and onions, and added sweet potato fries. Friendly wait staff suggested I try the raspberry ketchup with that. OK..... After waiting 25 minutes for this simple order, it finally came. Nice burger, fries were skimpy & somewhat greasy, and very small plastic cup of flavored ketchup, half full. After almost having to cancel the order to avoid being late for work, I hurried to gobble it down, and between bites, asked for the bill to save time..... only to see I was nickel and dimed for everything....got 3 1/2 small pickle slices (one was end cut, tiny), 2 onion rings about 2" in diameter (not slices here people, single rings) and the special ketchup. For those extras I was charged $1.25. Really? Disappointed with my experience there.

Generally they have good food, and good service. Unfortunately due to poor planning, we were short $0.60 on our bill. Our server, when asked what we could do (after purposely spilling my drink on me and my phone) said "See thats the wonderful thing, I get to pay for your meal." and stomped off. I understand the anger for not only being shorted but not getting a tip as well (as I said, we paid the bulk of our meal, but apparently that $0.60 was a big burden to her), but frankly after her little episode she would not have received a tip. She also didnt seem very good at her job; she never even gave us the bill, just took our card and came back to tell us it was denied, never spent more than 5 seconds at our table, and seemed more preoccupied with running around than actually catering to guests needs. Long story short, we will never be eating here again.

We stopped in during the Saturday night car show. Yes, we knew it would be busy and we were not in a hurry. We took a spot on the tiny patio space out front and were initially visited in a very reasonable amount of time. However, our server was very curt and we had a tough time getting her to return after our drinks were delivered. The real reason for my 2 star were that the mens bathroom was completely trashed, and that while our server ignored our attempts to get her attention, she took the time to remove our peanuts from the patio (Complimentary in side). She rudely snatched them away claiming that they were not allowed outdoors, even there were no postings indicating that this was a problem.

I came into the bar to have dinner with a bridal party before our nail appointment. We waited over an hour for our food and I said something to an employee about canceling our order because we had to be at our appointment. She said it is almost up anyway, and I said I again I understand that but we have to go. She then rolled her eyes at me and walked away. Our food was brough out with each one of our bills with a gratuity charged to each one. Horrible customer service. Never would I go back being treated like that.

Its rare Im in Hastings, but alas I had the opportunity to swing to see some friends who live outside Hastings. I have to say the ambiance was wonderful - seriously love that one can toss ones peanut shells on the floor! (Ive only seen that back in my home state of TN). For a local bar, I cant help but recommend Busted Nut - as the small town charm and its friendly staff made my short visit to Hastings worth the short drive.

Went there for lunch. The California vegetable medley soup had barely a tablespoon of vegetables in it My club sandwich was like no club sandwich Ive ever had before. It had a piece of turkey and a piece of ham along with a soggy tomato and melted cheese between greasy fried bread. Very disappointing experience. We also waited over 1/2 hour for our food. My husbands hamburger bun was stale and dry. We wont be back

The Busted Nut may very well be the best bar/restaurant Ive ever been to. The atmosphere is rustic and homey and the service was fantastic. The wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. The food... Oh my goodness, the food... The Bonzai Burger was out of this world and the habanero mustard was a revelation! Planning a trip through Hastings is well worth it if only for a quick burger and beer at the Busted Nut.

Amazing atmosphere! While passing through Hastings, I was pleasantly surprised at the feel of this place versus what else Id seen/experienced in the area. The staff was welcoming and conversational, the food wasnt standard bar fare, and the environment very comfortable and relaxed. This is a perfect example of what small town bars should shoot for.

It’s a neat spot to stop for a drink or a meal or both. They have the coldest tap beer, a fantastic Bloody Mary and a nice menu selection including the best burgers in Hastings. Most importantly, it’s a fun and friendly place where the food and service are always great. I like the “Nut” so much I could eat there every day! Vern N

Awesome little bar in downtown Hastings. Like peanuts? Well, check this place out! You get unlimited in the shell peanuts at the table, and just throw the shells on the floor! The food was also very good as well! 4 stars because it was excessively loud and took a while to receive the food. Would I go back? Yeah. For sure.

An excellent small town pub with the most excellent freshly made cheese curds in town! Free peanuts while you wait for your meals. Just throw the shells on the floor! Great burgers and tap beers with a full bar! Fast and friendly service. A great place to eat if your antique shopping at all the stores on 2nd St.

Happened upon this spot during a recent trip to Hastings and will definitely be going back! The vibe is chill and friendly, the staff was inviting and fun, and the food was delish. Best cheese curds Ive had in a long time and my burger was perfectly cooked. Commencing plan to be a regular at this fine establishment!

A great little bar and grill, though Im mostly there for the grill. Their menu is pretty traditional, but the food is prepared very well. I would recommend this place for anyone who enjoys good food at a very reasonable price.

Stopped in for a beer, ate some nuts, watched some football, and had a nice time. Food around the pub looked good, bartender knew her drinks. If you are looking for food and beverage, stop in.

This is my favorite place to go for karaoke Thursday nights, good food, and relaxed atmosphere. The wait-staff is always friendly and the owners (Tatia and Phil) are wonderful people.
