We spent a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Brookside. The beer was cold, the gin and tonic refreshing and our food was great. We usually bring our own chairs and move to the yard under a shade tree to enjoy the music after our meal. We love the outdoor scene in the afternoon, families, bikers and tourists all enjoying a good time. The bar inside is nice, too. Brookside is a destination for us whenever possible on a weekend afternoon. Service was great in spite of the big crowd. We love to patronize locally owned restaurants. The vibe here is relaxed and fun.

The atmosphere of this place was fantastic--except for the music. It was ridiculously loud. I had to ask three times for it to be turned down, and the third time, the bartender looked at me like I was an idiot and said rudely, "Other people want it louder. Thats why its loud." Uh...what people? Its 3:00 on a Sunday afternoon. The patrons were almost all over 30, and everyone was chatting quietly. I should not have to shout over loud rock music to someone sitting three feet from me. I loved this place as a kid, but I wont be back.

Yesterday I met a friend at Brookside for lunch. I had the Brookside Halfer Burger. Its half ground beef, half ground bacon. It was really good and full of flavor. I have also tried the pizza and it was very good. They have a nice gazebo and fire pit out back. I would recommend Brookside if your ever passing through Marine on the St.Croix. It has no cell phone service and if you ask for directions, they say you cant get there from here.

I like this little town and this bar. Nice shaded outdoor space. We had pizza fries, which was more like a cheese pizza without any sauce, marinara for dipping. It was filling enough that we decided not to share a burger. I saw burger & fries brought to another table and it looked good. The place was busy but not crowded or loud. Ill go here again and have something to eat.

Used to be this great place. Walleye fingers have gone to hell. They keep raising the price and giving you less. They have this new waitress. Terrible! Shes cute as hell but, terrible. Wears this knit hat and ignored me all night. NEVER asked me how my food was. Way more concerned about what??? Left Mr hangin. TERRIBLE! WHAT A JOKE!

The burger and pizza are to die for here. The hamburger is so fresh and juicy I would highly recommend you get one if stop in. Although you may have a hard time choosing that over their pizza. If you had never seen what it look liked last year - then you may have a understanding how great the place looks like now!!

Ordered a bleu cheese burger that was tasty but light on the bleu cheese. A great place if you like thin, tasteless fries. Service was slow and inattentive, our order was wrong on several details and they seemed severely understaffed. Likely wont be back again.

Love, love, love this place. The food had gotten so much better over the years through different ownership, but everything else had stayed the same. Fantastic patio with live music, lots of bikers stop here for lunch on their weekend rides.

Not too impressed with this place. My wife and I stopped by here on our anniversary weekend last fall. Id give our food a 4, but its hard to enjoy a place when you feel more like an inconvenience to the staff than a priority.
