This place has really gone downhill. I used to eat there a few times a month and then I moved and eventually came back to the area. I went a couple days ago and was very disappointed. The prices were raised a lot and portions got skimpy. I paid $14 for carne asada and I received 3 tablespoons of refried beans, 2 pieces of leather- like pieces of steak that were about 1/8" thick and the size of just my palm, 2 tortillas, a cup of lettuce, and a tablespoon of guacamole. What I ordered portionwise was equivalent to a quesadilla at Taco Bell for 3x the price. I would have been more satisfied with Taco Bell, and thats sad. There are much better restaurants with higher quality, bigger portions, for less. I know we went during the last 3 hours of it being open, but staff was not attentive when we needed refills or salsa and only interacted getting our order, bringing it out, and grabbing the check... and we were literally the only customers. Needless to say Im not returning.

May deserve 3 stars, but I only ordered takeout and most of my expectations come from American-style Mexican. Restaurant had a fun and casual atmosphere. Waiters were attentive and friendly. Portion size for the lunch special was reasonable for the low price. The beef in my enchilada was somewhat bland and it lacked the chili pepper flavor I expected. My chalupa was flat and a little tough where I expect it to be more crispy. The toppings, however, were delicious and generous with a huge scoop of tasty guacamole on it. The quesadilla was wonderfully made, notably buttery with a perfect crispness and generous amount of cheese. Tortilla chips werent notable but had very little salt and a strong corn flavor, which is a plus. The salsa, however, was quite good and would go great with a beer. Very strong with a nice balance of vinegar and cilantro. Ill probably go back some time and try the chicken quesadilla, though the salsa may be a bit too strong to accompany it.

Went to La Fuente about a week ago and ordered a relatively simple plate, Huevos Rancheros. After the standard affair of chips and salsa, I finally received my plate. I was immediately disappointed that they managed to mess up my two over-easy eggs. They cooked it correctly, it wasnt scrambled or any other type of egg, but when in the process of heating up the plate in an oven for showmanship (since I dont know how else the plate could have been that hot from essentially two eggs, beans and rice), they finished cooking the eggs such that the yolk was cooked completely solid. Second, the sauce on top of the two eggs was kind of disgusting and different from any in the 25+ years of growing up in TX. Maybe it was simply different but I didnt care much for it. I would continue going to Taqueria La Loma for a better, more authentic meal.

Way overpriced and way bland food. The salsa tastes like you are chewing on straight cilantro. I ordered a combination and the food was so small. They charge extra for everything.. If I would have known how bland the chicken was I wouldnt have paid an extra 75 cents for it... Not to mention the 1.25 for sour cream. Combinations dont even come with rice or beans... Thats extra too. My daughter said the beans were bland and tasteless. The sauce on my enchilada and burrito was watered down. Its so overpriced for what you get. I will not be going back.

I must have gone on an off night because the dish I ordered--the enchiladas mexicanas--was not very good at all. It was priced at $10.50 which only disappointed me more. The tortillas were too hard, the chicken didnt have much flavor, and the sauce wasnt that good either. The service was great, however, as was the atmosphere. My boyfriend enjoyed his dish though--some kind of burrito. I probably will choose to eat somewhere else in the future.

Dont be put off by negative reviews. Great little American Mexican restaurant with a large menu selection and quality food. My girlfriend (linguistics major and lived in Mexico) started speaking Spanish to the wait staff and they got a kick out of it. Definitely had a good time there and will be going back again.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. Their salsa is great and the people are friendly. I always get the same thing, thinking Ill try something different, but then I get that craving and cave into the enchiladas mexicanas. Theyre pretty inexpensive and give you a ton of food.

I have been coming here for years with my friends and have never been disappointed. The staff is so friendly and the food is fairly priced and tastes amazing! The portion sizes are perfect and the chips and salsa are AMAZING. My favorite local restaurant.

LOTS OF FOOD! The service is fast and friendly, and they give you way more food than you could ever finish. Its typical Mexican-American fare, with some traditional dishes too. All in all a pretty good local Mexican-American food restaurant.

Fun and festive on Friday nights! Karaoke!!! Great fajitas, guacamole table side. Margaritas are delicioso!! Hidden in a shapping strip, it is a gem! Love the wait staff.. my waiter always remembers me and sings a lot thru the resturant!

Have been here several times and every one of them has had great service and quality. The portions are ample yet you have enough menu items to choose from if you want a lighter meal. I highly recommend this place.

The food is far from being authentic mexican. The do not allow any substitutions to any of the entrees. Heck, even Taco B(H)ell allows you to make substitutions. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Good food for fair price. Be careful when ordering take out. I thought I was clear but twice now Ive come home with something incorrect. I might give them the a third try before striking it off my order list.

Our server was incredibly rude. Worst service I have had at a restaurant in many, many years. Food comes in large quantities but is mediocre. I will not return to this restaurant due to the poor service.

Really not too good tonight. Must be a new chef. Food order was messed up for 3 of 4 of us. They did not drain the ground beef - grease oozed out of the taco shell.

The first time I went it was a good experience. The next 2 times were disappointing. The food they brought us was wrong both times and the service was poor.
