I do not believe in reviews and chose this restaurant based on a referral from someone I trust and had eaten there just last week. I ordered a patty melt. What I got almost 25 minutes later was a lukewarm, completely bland hamburger patty with a couple of pieces of raw red onion, and a slice of white cheese sitting between two pieces of white toast. It also came with a tiny little bowl of cole slaw that I tried but it had a strange taste. The best part was a bag of Better Made potato chips. When I did ask the very nice waiter what could possibly be taking so long he said there was only one cook and one grill back there. Since there was only one other occupied table, I just didnt get it. What would they do if more than five people showed up? Honest to God, after eating there, I just dont get the good reviews. And I didnt mention the gross meal my dining partner was served. I feel stupid that I stayed after waiting so long but I couldnt convince my guy to leave. Worst of all, why do you have to give any stars at all!?

What a waste of a Sunday afternoon. After we ordered, we waited for over 30 minutes, having to flag the waitress down just to get a coffee refill. It was taking rather long to get our food, but just thought it was the made from scratch factor, until I saw people that got there after us receiving their food. There was no concern on anyones part that we had been waiting so long, or that our coffee was empty again. After waiting over 45 minutes, we decided to leave, but wanted to settle up on the coffee and the soup that was actually delivered. We found out that the order never made it to the kitchen, and they did apologize, but still charged us $7.24 for the coffee and soup, we left starving and an hour of our day off wasted. There should have never been any charge, and we should have received an apology from the manager and a complimentary future visit at the very least. Needless to say, we will never be going back. I would like to give a negative star rating

It was busy when we arrived which I took as a good sign. I was wrong.We had the choice to sit at a high top table by the window which had just been vacated or what looked like a 6 person table with two people sitting at it. We chose the high top and then were told by the waitress that she wouldnt be able to clean it, so we moved. The menu looked interesting but the food was disappointing. Six to seven dollars for sandwichs no one enjoyed. We had a hamburger, a corned beef and a fajita.The corned beef could have been any lunch meat, flavorless as was the burger. Chips were supposed to come with the burger and the waitress , when asked, got them and tossed them on the table as she walked by.We were going to have coffee but noticed the gas station type machines (powder and water)so we skipped it.All in all I would not recommend it or return.

L.A. Cafe was one of the worst experiences Ive had eating in a restaurant. We ordered the fruit bowl, which on the menu had a variety of different fruit. We received canned pineapple and a few cut apples, not to mention we found a fruit fly in it. When we received our meals the food was old and stale. We found fruit flies in our drinks and had to keep swatting them away from us. The atmosphere seemed dirty and uninviting. I would not recommend this place to anyone and feel they should be checked over by the health department.

They have great vegetarian options. I love the unique art, decorations, and decoupaged tables. Its a great place to hang out with friends, they dont seem to mind you sitting & talking for a while after youre done eating. Its not a great place to go if youre in a hurry, because its more laid-back, but I love that about this place. The staff is always really cool. I moved out of Waterford, and its one of the places I miss, and I always try to go when Im in the area.

My wife and I just grabbed 2) coffee drinks.......these where made from a powder mix...... We also got 3 sandwiches tomato old, lettuce wilting and turning brown..... We spent around 30.00 in the restaurant tonight....the quality is high school grade, a far cry from what should be coming from a long standing restaurant... All up and down Dixie there are plenty restaurants that take pride in the quality that comes from their kitchens.....

When the help that has been there takes the silverware and puts their dirty hands (cleaned off several tables of dirty dishes and did not bother to wash their hands) all over the eating ends, you kind of begin to wonder. Especially when the owner refused to come out of the kitchen and take care of the situation and discuss this severe health violation and calm down a group of customers. Kind of wonder what goes on in the kitchen

I only had a cappuccino when I visited LA cafe. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant and i enjoyed the service. The reason why i cannot give a perfect score is because the cappuccino was served in a styrofoam cup. Im not snobby enough to say that i can taste a difference. I am snobby enough to be irked by the environmental impact though. I hope they switch to recycled paper cups.

My husband and I recently tried this place for the first time when we were feeling breakfast food for dinner. This place exceeded our expectations! Very cool atmosphere, the owner was very nice, and the coffee drinks and breakfast food were awesome (I had chocolate chip pancakes and a cinnamon latte and my husband had an omelette and a iced coffee drink). We will definitely be back!

The restaurant owners, Darren and Heidi, make the LA Cafe a cant miss spot. Warm and friendly, you are immediately welcomed into their rather funky, eclectic cafe. Good food with delicious homemade desserts made by Heidi and a solid cup of coffee make the LA Cafe a must if you are in the Waterford/Clarkston area. Particularly good for breakfast!

Great food, great atmosphere, but really poor service. Took an hour to get my coffee and quesadilla, not sure if this was due to the cook or waitress, but the waitress sure seemed more content chatting with her friends than bringing out my order. Food was great but I dont think I will be going back.

Cool little cafe with amazing food and coffee. Very popular with high school and college kids. Lots of art and handmade items for sale, along with dog treats! The portions are huge and well-priced for their size. The coffee is a bit pricier than I would like, but well worth the extra bucks!

The steak and cheese sandwich is awesome! My wife an I love this restaurant, they make a variety of good breakfast and lunch dishes. The setting is cool and uplifting. They also host some cool community events, I get the impression that the owners care about the community.

Ive been going to LA Cafe for over 15 years. The owners, Heidi and Darren are great. Theyve really evolved the place and the menu. Great, natural, healthy food in a hip atmosphere. Ive even had private events there and catered out from them. Its always been 5 stars.
