it is not just the worst Chinese food, it is the most disgusting food! The soup is not a broth as it should be, but it is like jello when served! The sweet and sour sauce turns into Jello: because they are using too much cornstarch! The Sauce for the Spring roll is out of 1gal. bottle of that stuff that they fill up right there in the restaurant and I the sweet and sour sauce is NOT homemade, even though they claim it is: I asked, but as I came home with the left overs and found the same sauce to be nothing but jello, I was disgusted! They take our money and offer us NOTHING in return! I feel cheated out of the best food the asian kitchen has to offer! FACT IS: they are not genuine Chinese Restaurants! Everything tastes the same, because they buy their frozen, canned food, incl. those plastic battles filled with their sauces must be from the same retailer. What makes this all so terrible is that Genuine Asian Food in the Detroit Area is so rate that it might take you years before you find one! WE are being deceived, lied too and why then go there! The fried rice is doused in grease while at the same time the rest of the food ordered is absolutely tasteless! The Sweet a.Sour chicken tastes like it was frozen and reheated, the chicken dry, the service is as though they feel forced to "feed" the costumers and I know for a fact that they themselves would NEVER eat what they feed their costumers! I know this: Gordon Ramsay would be appalled and sick a the sight of the everything set before him and would he taste it, he would spit it out! I have been cooking Chinese Food from original Chinese Recipes: I KNOW GOOD ASIAN FOOD so I KNOW THAT I am talking about and what they serve is the WORST you will ever taste! I KNOW good Chinese food is not and tastes nothing like this. Truth is: those who work their NEVER touch that food they fix for american costumers! I dont care how much it is "Americanized"...it should NEVER be served and taste like that! What is really lacking behind that bad food is integrity, a genuine appreciation for the costumers and a passion for cooking! Bad food prepared and sold to Costumers in such Restaurants shows those working there: they have no honor, no respect for costumers. The cooks hate their job, the servers dont care WHAT the cooks make and set before the people what is abominable! Every one of them deceive all those that believe that they have been voted "Best Asian" food! ITS a lie! THIS is for sure: they do not love what they do and do not care to feed the people this food not even fit for swines! Paying for this kind of bad food is not just a waste of hard earned money, but no one deserves to be fed what they serve! I know this: they do not care about the food they serve and people they serve it: and besides, it most of the time empty! A sign that they are not good! So if you drive by and do not see cars there, move on, for this is not the place to eat and come out satisfied! WARNING: do not go to Wing Hing on 26309 Hoover Rd in Warren, they are just as bad.

I have been going to Lotus Pond for literally as long as I can remember, at least 20 years, probably more. I am not sure if the owners are the same or have changed over time - but this is my favorite Chinese food in the area. I would literally drive almost 20 miles to specifically get this food. I have not had anything here that is sub-par and I have tried many things. The only reason this place does not have 5 stars is because there is better Chinese food out there, but only if you are going to a restaurant that is going to charge you 3x the price. At this location / price point I give Lotus Pond 5+ stars.

Today 11/18/2014 was my first visit to the place. The food was between okay to good. It wasnt bad but they charged me a dollar more than the total. I let it slide and said to myself dont go here again on account of dishonesty. I ordered one egg roll; $1.50, a cup of wanton soup; $1.50, and the Lotus Pond fried rice; $6.00. The pretax total is 9.00; w/6% it should have been $9.54. I was charged $10.60. Dishonesty or a mistake. They should have been on their game. Ive been to much better and more honest Chinese restaurants. Ill pass next time.

I had the carry-out dining experience on this particular occasion. In tthat aspect everything was pretty much on point, the food was hot and ready when they said it was going to be. Im extremely picky pertaining to Chinese food, so it would have to be very good for me to give it a hard for or even a mediocre five. I was almost Prime just to give it a 4 then I remember there was a piece of chicken a few actually where the texture was off-putting. Other than that everything was great, good overall dining experience

Horrible food. While the sweet and sour chicken was edible the chicken was dry however the sauce was good. The shrimp chow mein looked like something someone threw up. The shrimp lo-mein was ok but lacked any kind of flavor. The crab rangoons were dry and had very little filling. Overall I spent $46 on food that my family and I hardy touched. Very disappointed. I would rather go the Mongolian buffet on 12 & Ryan, pay more but actually enjoy my food.

I ordered the curry beef it was amazing the egg drop soup was much thicker than Im used to but I actually preferred it to what Ive had in the past. My husband ordered the pepper steak and it was really good too. Rice was good and they gave us complementary buttered bread and fried won tons to go with the soup. The workers were nice and very attentive. I will be going back very soon. Also, the egg rolls were just ok but not terrible.

At one time this was my go to Chinese food, Ive tried it three times since my first bad experience and I will never go there again. My lo mein tasted like chop suey, it was horrible. The egg roll are bad, the fried rice is meh, on and on. I just could not figure out what happened until I ran into the female server that used to work there. She told me that the old cook retired and the new one is not as good, etc.

Im a big lover for chinese food and this place is decent. I guess it depends on your taste buds on how you like your sauces because every place has their own recipes. There general tsao sauce was decent but Ive had better. The waitress was really sweet though & was cracking jokes with my mom and I. I also thought it was a little pricier than other places. So this place was okay in my opinion.

This used to be one of the best Chinese restaurants in Warren. Not anymore...I ordered the "Almond" boneless chicken. No almonds...I ask " Where are my almonds"? Dumb ass laughs and says "oh..we dont put almonds on..he he he". WTF? The spring rolls were burnt. The Pad Thai is no less than abominable, raw egg, no tamarind sauce, just a bunch of glop. Oh well, sianara lotus pond.
