I had the worst Chinese buffet dining experience ever in my life. I took my family (five adults and a baby) to Hibachi Buffet in Sterling Heights, MI for a dinner. I started looking for the shrimp cocktail an appetizer I couldn’t find them easily so I asked the owner, his name is “Joe”. It’s under new “Iraqi Management”. He pointed to me to go all the way back in the corner of the dining area. I found a big pile of ice cubes with about 10 pieces of boiled unpeeled shrimp scattered all over the ice. I found it very odd to see such a little amount of shrimp on to on that much ice. I noticed the shell of every single one of them is covered in little white spots that are slightly raised. So I took few in my plate and went to my table. I had a few to eat and I decided to stop eating them fearing a food poisoning. So I went to make me a plate to have the chef cook it for me. I gathered uncooked vegetable from the tray. I could not find any raw shrimp on the table. So I asked “Joe” is there a raw shrimp, he replied back saying “No we no longer serve raw shrimp to be cooked by the chef, however if you like to can pick the shrimp from any cooked dish on the table and the give it to the chef to re-cook it with your raw vegetable or you can go back and start peeling the shell from the steamed shrimp that what was left on the ice”. I refused to neither pick from already cooked food that was cooked with artificial crab meat nor peel the shell from already cooked spotty shrimp!! I told Joe that I’m not going to pick nor peel from already cooked shrimp to add it to my plat, so I ‘m not going to eat in this place. The main reason my family in this buffet is for the sea food only. Joe offered to make me pay for three out of five adult dinner price even though we did not eat barely anything. (I had 5 pieces of shrimp cocktail, and my wife had two spoon of plain fried rice) I told him we are not satisfied with the food quality and the selection. I should not pay for that much for not eating and we are not happy with food. He threatened my family to call the cops. I told him go ahead and call. The cops came I told him what’s going on. The cops told me if you took one bite you are by law obligated to pay the full price. So Joe decided after the cops talk to him to charge me the full dinner price all my family (five instead of three). I paid it and moved on with my day and I will never go there again. I should know better that the fact not to go eat at Chinese food with Iraqi owner, this combination not compatible with each other. Go figure!!!

TLDR: The manager literally publicly shamed us in front of other customers for eating too many crab legs. Lunch: 10.79 Dinner: 15.79 I got here around 1:00, but decided to leave and come back at 4:00 when i saw i could get crab legs for $5 more. I felt a little unwelcome as i was waiting longer than usual for someone to seat me with no one else in front of me. The food was average or a little above. They had 1/4" thick steaks on the hibachi bar, but there was a sign that said 1 per person per visit. That felt a little cheap but whatever. The crab legs were mostly small, and it took them forever to bring more out. A couple customers got impatient and were standing at the empty bin and loudly asking every employee they saw when more would come out. Eventually some more would show up and they would all disappear immediately. Finally a fresh bin comes out right when im up there and just as im getting some the manager loudly tells us to leave some for the other customers. The loud customers complained about this and said to bring more out. The managers response to this was that they cost $9.00/lb. More (justified) complaining from the loud customers. Finally some old guy comes out of the kitchen and rips the crab leg labels off the buffet. Im pretty sure i was part of the group that ate them out of the crab leg business. If I hadnt already had 3 big plates of crab and about 6 other plates of shrimp, sushi and other food I would have just got up and left. Instead, I just had 3 or 4 more plates and then paid. Overall, mostly liked the food and it was a decent price even with no crab legs. Ill never go back though and I advise you not to either. I have been to a lot of buffets, and this was the first time an employee, let alone the manager has made me feel guilty for eating too much. This also definitely felt like the kind of place that reuses leftover food from wasteful people, thats just speculation though.

I was reluctant to eat here after I read the reviews, but thought Id give it a chance. We had a group of our family come here on a Sunday afternoon and we had tried to make a reservation, but they said "well TRY to have a table ready for you." They werent busy when we arrived, but the man at the host station, apparently the manager, was rude. When he asked about the checks I told him we would be on different checks which was a problem with him and he suggested everyone give one person the cash and they pay... its 2017 and not everyone pays with cash these days!! He had an attitude about that and said we shouldve made a reservation and when I informed him we tried he replied I was the one you talked to and I told you your table would be ready. I replied with just as much atttiude and reminded him he said he would TRY to have it ready. Our table was ready, thus proving my point that we had already made a reservation. He didnt offer an apology at all and steered clear of our area. It was clean and I didnt see any trace of what some reviews said was poor food quality or uncleanliness. The food was alright, the service was just okay. Our waitress could barely understand our drink orders, but she was efficient. The price is not bad at all, but just the service from the "manager" was enough to make me not want to give them any more business of mine. They dont have as big of a variety as the one is westland. And its not as nice. I dont plan returning and wouldnt recommend it to anyone else.

DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT!!! The sanitary conditions should be illegal!! A FAMILY OF 10 WALKED IN GRABBED PLATES SAT DOWN DIDNT LIKE THE FOOD AND RETURNED IT TO THE FOOD LINE AND WALKED OUT. MY HUSBAND AND OTHERS LET THE STAFF KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY REFUSED TO TAKE THE FOOD OFF THE LINE!!! We asked for a manager and they pretended there was a language barrier. When they refused to pull the food we refused to pay an they called the police on us!! Thank God we had already called the police and we had multiple witnesses who also gave the same account. The police after hearing all the patrons account explained to the Manager (who still pretended to have a language barrier,) they would have to report this incident to the health department and the manger still made everyone pay who hadnt already left out of the restaurant. I DONT KNOW WHO ATE THE RETURNED FOOD!!!! :*( WE TRIED TO STOP EVERYONE WE COULD
