You can do better. You deserve better. Do not eat here. My wife and I attended a family event here, a 90th birthday celebration for the family patriarch. The family (and friends) in attendance ate in the "banquet" area. The atmosphere was acceptable. The salad we were all served looked and tasted like it was fresh - fresh from a bag of Dole salad mix. That is not a good thing. I ordered whitefish with vegetables, which included a potato. The whitefish was wet, mushy, and flavorless. The potato was baked and also flavorless. The bread was decent, so, yay for Waves! The worst part was for the guest of honor. You might think at 90 years old he is losing his mind or otherwise "out of it." That is not the case, he is in full control of his faculties. Grandpa ordered medium steak - and why not, the dude is 90 with his own real teeth. The first steak he was brought was, according to him, "like shoe leather." The restaurant cooked a second steak, which was more in line with his order. He - the birthday boy - was the last person served and thus received the worst service of anyone - at his own birthday celebration. Unacceptable.

I dont really have much of a problem with the restaurant as I do with the feeling of being screwed over. Two times now in the past year or so I have been double charged on my debit card. I go into the restaurant and start a tab at the bar. When I am done I ask for my card back look at the receipt and check out the charges and everything is great. I tip and sign off and I am on my way. However, two times now as I stated I look on my account online and see that there are two swipes. Why? I dont cash out then start another tab so I can only assume that the bartenders are mistaking my card for another persons order in which I am paying for. On Friday July 11, 2014 I attended the establishment from about 12:30 to 1:30 a.m. That is one hour. I have charges in the amount of over $50.00. This is not feasible to me whatsoever. I did not eat. I only ordered drinks. I hope if a manager reads this review they speak to the bar tenders to make sure they are swiping the correct cards and keeping correct tabs. I understand I should just pay cash from now on which I will do but, as we know its convenient to start a tab.

Today was my birthday. The waitress knew this- service was slow, food was fresh. The stake was a great cut however no one knows how to cook it to specs. We had four stakes, all of them Way under-cooked even after they were sent back for another 11 min. they arrived back on the table as they left -the dirty plates etc. stayed on the tables way longer than they should have and dessert took 18 min from receiving the menu to giving the order then another 22 min. to get them on the table. Did not get my birthday song and lei. If I was not with my family of 6 and the time I already had invested, I would have left. cost for all this 168.00 before gratuity. Not happy. I recommend Spending your quality, special days anywhere but here. Pegasus Tavernas, Pat OBriens, Mikes on the Water, Brownies On The Lake, even Rams Horn Family Restaurant are all near and a far better choice.. You spend one or two hours here because the service is that slow.

Every time I go to Waves, the food and service is excellent. After my father passed away, I needed a place to have the funeral luncheon. I contacted Waves to see if they could accommodate my family, they said yes. We were seated in a semi-private back room, with windows. I could not have selected a better place for our luncheon. The food was excellent, and service outstanding. I know my father would have loved it. It was a difficult day for us, but my mind was set a ease knowing the Waves Staff took care of us. In the future, for showers or my sorority dinners, we will come back to Waves!! Outstanding!

The Christmas decorations were just beautiful. We sat in the bar area at a table, waited 10 minutes for someone to come to the table to take our drink order. Ended up going up to the bar and asking if we were sitting in the wrong section, the bartender got us a server. The food was good, the iceberg lettuce wasnt that great, but the house dressing was great. The caribbean rice was served room temperature, could have been hotter. Would go back again.

I have been to this "restaurant" twice. Once with a very large party at night, and once with my husband for lunch. Both times, the service was atrocious, the food was tiny and extremely overpriced. The waitresses were rude and the atmosphere was loud, dark, and chaotic. I will not return. Neither will anyone that dined with us that first time. Sleazy bar? Yes. Restaurant? Not so much

Pretty decor- seashell lamps and unique tiki huts. Our waitress was attentive and friendly but may have had a lot of tables at the time. We went on a Wednesday evening, restaurant wasnt nearly full but food, drinks, and then our checks still took longer than expected/desired. Food was tasty and presented beautifully. There was a room in the back for private parties.

This place used to have great fish, the last 3 times we have been there not so good. We went for lunch on a Saturday. Ordered the sauteed perch. The fish was tough, not fresh, tasted fishy. Waitress was attentive, filled drinks etc. Bread good, house salad meh...Dressing on salad good. Not sure if we will go back but it will be awhile if we do. $18.00 for perch.

Staff was great, food was interesting. Everything was cooked correctly and arrived in an appropriate amount of time, yet the sides just do not match the main dish and presentation was questionable. I used to love the restaurant. They totally changed the menu and must have new chefs in the kitchen with disjointed ideas of food preparation.

The food was just ok. Can buy the same burger @ Gordon foods and cook it at home. Ordered a bloody mary and was very disappointed very little mix vodcia and ice water.Waitress was very good said she was there a short time great job. Much better years back, will go back and try one more time and then off my radar.

My steak was GREAT! Seasoned to perfection! Side dishes were okay and restaurant was nice and festive! Plus a tasty glass of wine. No complaints EXCEPT the service from "Christy" she was distant, not happy to serve us and we had to track her down for everything. She might as well had just asked us to go away

Sat at the bar like I always do when I go out for food and drinks. Waves actually has good food and nicely made drinks. The thing that always throws me off is the decor and lighting. The lighting is too bright, I think it hurts the overall obedience. Still solid 3 stars.

Very good restaurant, lots of intriguing and unique choices on the menu. Everything I have tried so far has been delicious. They need to bring back toast points over the pita bread for the shrimp and crab cheese bake. Pita bread, really? The bake is amazing though.
