As a bar its pretty standard and okay to visit. The bartender was nice and all was well. One downside oddly was the placement of the keno tvs as they are on the opposite walls as the bar in the corners and as we sat and tried to enjoy ourselves there was a man who we thought was staring at us forever.. once we realized he was playing keno.. haha we were like ok whatever. So add a keno over the bar area. Now on to the bbq side, they may have been on downtime for smoking meats because after parking and walking around the place and into the bar not a scent of wood smoke. The menu options are decent and id say fairly priced, however i always go to bbq places to test more than one meat to get a idea of things. Specifically brisket, pulled pork and sausage. Well theres no sausage it was a bummer not a deal breaker as they had wings with a nice selection of sauce or seasoning options 10 total. I got 6 wings 3 sauces, their house bbq, Sesame garlic, and 6 pepper dry rub. Their wings were of a jerky texture and hardly smoky not a total turn off because they still were tender enough to bite clean also Fried to get crispy which was nice.. but sauces, house bbq is a massive molasses sauce overpowering and not a favorite.. the 6 pepper spice was okay, and the sesame garlic was good. And then to order main food they do not offer a platter of bbq such as 1 2 3 or more meat combo plates with sides. You have to order each individual then add on sides. So where i could get a triple meat combo at some places for say 20.00, 3 meats 2 sides and bread.. i would have had to order brisket for 9.99 pulled pork for i think 7.99 then chicken for like 9.99 i beleive. Then 2.99 a side so about 30 total to do 3 meats 2 sides. So i got a western which had pulled pork and brisket and coleslaw on a seeded bun, And a side. I opted for the mac and cheese claiming to be home made with 5 cheeses.. now ive made and had restaurant made fresh mac and cheese and when its made that way its always stringy and you know texturaly its real deal. This was great mac and cheese however a creamy Velveeta type cheese sauce over real curly nice noodles. Now id give a great rating on it if they admited it wasnt home made 5 cheese, seemed deceitful. On to the sammich, the coleslaw was good. The meats were under seasoned by a long shot no smoke ring or smoke flavor and any flavor at that, i couldnt tell flavor wise if i had brisket or pork besides looking at it. So this place is fine to visit and eat but as legit smokehouse id say no. Again good people good place needs improvement as a bbq joint.

Absolutely a fantastic place to go!! The food was wonderful, but what really sets this place apart is the service! Gary, the owner, goes out of his way to come and talk to each and every group in the place. Not like other places where a manager may come up and do a quick "how is everything" and then walks away. It was our first time in the joint and Gary came up, shook our hands, chatted with us for a few minutes and came back to check on us/talk to us at least 4 times during our ~3 hours there. Our server Linda was also fantastic- as soon as you were done with a drink she was already there setting a new one down for you. It wasnt just this friendly interaction that made the service so great. When we arrived we were immediately told that they were out of ribs for about an hour and a half as they had an unexpected large party earlier in the day. "Not a problem", we said. Two of the three of us wanted the ribs so we said we would wait, drink some beer and eat an appetizer in the meantime. They were fantastic at keeping us informed of the status of the ribs. After about an hour we were told (with many apologies) that the ribs would be about another 40 minutes. We didnt mind and said we would wait (there was beer to drink!). About a half hour later Linda told us it was going to be another hour or so and apologized immensely. We decided at that point that we would just order something else off of the menu, we honestly did not mind- it was our choice to wait for the ribs to begin with, we were in good company enjoying a Saturday night and they did such a great job of keeping us informed of the status of the ribs. You could tell they sincerely felt bad. Gary went ABOVE AND BEYOND to compensate us, which was truly not necessary. The food we ordered (pulled pork, brisket, and pulled chicken) were all fantastic. If youre contemplating where to go for some great BBQ, go to Stonewood! Amazing food, FANTASTIC service, and a great atmosphere. They have gained our loyalty for life.

First tried Stonewoods Ribs at Michigan Rib Fest this year. Ordered Carry out last night. Ribs are great! Nice and lean, cooked perfectly. Sauce is great, doesnt overpower. Corn bread muffins were light and fluffy, flavorful and all corn. Not extra spices here, simply delicious on their own. Ordered a side of Mac and Cheese, not a fan. It has jalapeño spices. Made the cheese taste like the sauce on cheese nachos at the ball game. Some people might like this, but we were looking for the multiple cheese, baked variety. This really seemed like cheese sauce from a can. Pass on this if its not your thing. Price is reasonable. Slabs were on special, $11.99 each so we ordered sides separately. Mac & Cheese larger side $5.99, corn muffins, maybe $1 each. $35 for total. 5 stars because we went for the ribs, and were super happy with them.

I stopped in with my grandmother to have lunch we were making it to go order. It took awhile for the food to come out which is okay but the bartender was really nice and gave me two glasses of ice water while I waited. When we got home the mac and cheese was okay I didnt taste five different cheeses but it was okay the brisket on it was nice it didnt have a lot of seasoning on it however. My grandmother said that her ribs were tough and her coleslaw seems like it was missing something. She did not like the chili it was kind of watery. The corn muffin was gross. Overall the service is nice however we will not be going back the mac and cheese portion is huge however so if you want a giant Mac with no seasoning check them out

Maybe I was there on an off day, but I ordered the mac and cheese with brisket and it was tasteless. I didnt taste any smoke or flavor on the meat, the mac and cheese had no flavor and lacked some salt. I was very disappointed because Ive been in before and the food smelled excellent. I will give it one more chance, but honestly, there is better BBQ out there.
