I love sushi and crab. Thats primarily what I eat when I go there. I rarely order from the hibachi grill but its there for those that prefer it. Their sushi is the best for the money and its abundant. Youd have to pay twice as much just for the sushi at other places ( Forget it if you want the hibachi too or carved prime rib or fresh clams and mussels thats all extra). I also love their soups, ham and fresh seafood bar. They have all the typical salads, pastas and desserts too including hand dipped ice cream. If you want an alcoholic drink then they have a bar as well. They have TVs just like the sports bars. Ive eaten at Habachi Buffet over a dozen times since it opened and it was always clean and had a friendly atmosphere. They also keep their bathroom facilities clean. I cannot, for the life of me, understand the bad reviews this place has gotten as the food has always been fresh, the floors clean and insect free, and the service was as expected -- prompt and courteous. The bad reviews must have been a fluke as far as I can tell or somebody just wanted to trash the place for their own evil purposes -- maybe a jealous competitor? Thats what prompted me to write this extended review as Id sure hate to lose this place due to misguided patrons with an unreasonable bone to pick. Sure, no eatery is 100% all the time and there will be issues due to employees having a bad day or customers having a bad day too. Negative reviews are always two-sided. When you arrive for lunch at Habachi it is written on the guest check at the time you are seated. The menu is different for dinner. If you pay for lunch and eat the items declared as DINNER ONLY like sushi and carved meats, then they will bill you the dinner price since you broke the rules. Not all restaurants have that restriction but most of the Asian buffets, that Ive attended, do and make it abundantly clear which is which. Dont be surprised or angry if you get caught and are made to pay the full dinner price. Be wiser next time or go to Old Country Buffer or Golden Corral. The restaurant closes at 9 PM on most days and lets face it, if you go to any buffet 30 minutes before closing the food available will be less than ideal for obvious reasons. Nobody should have to explain why, but here it is: restaurants throw out tons of food and it cuts into their profit margin but it is a fact of business. If you arrive just before closing and expect them to cook everything fresh on the buffet just for you then youre excessively ignorant. And sometimes they may take a special order on request. But next time arrive earlier or expect less than what is typically available and fresh for consumption. My one complaint is shared by many others. Friday is crab night and a lot of people eat there just for the crab. We pay about $3.50 extra for dinner just for the crab. And it goes quickly. But they dont immediately replenish the pool of crab, so we have to wait 10 or 15 minutes for the next batch to arrive. Well, the line grows long and people are disappointed. They should have a fresh batch right on the heels of the last batch to please those that want crab. As it is many people just give up and don get the crab that they paid extra for. Thats not right. I waited in line a total of a half hour and only got leftover pickings. I complained and they brought out another batch 10 minutes later but by that time I was back at my seat eating other items on the menu before they got cold. So, I missed out on crab. It has happened on several occasions so I dont go there on Fridays due to that fact. Its also why I gave them only 4 stars.

I love the peppered chicken, over rice. For a buffet the food is hot. Dont usually like buffets because stuff is not hot. All restaurants have a problem some times. When u have the public serving them self its pretty hard to make sure there was not a hair. It happens. The desserts are not good but most Chinese restaurants have bad deserts. This place has something for everyone, an then some. Never seen so many options. The wait staff could be nicer. If I owned a restaurant where the staff talked a differant language from most customers it would not be allowed to talk the differant language. It is very rude. Some times u can tell they are talking about customers. I go to the buffet to serve myself its hard to get one refill on pop. Its a buffet come on and she wants a tip. When u work at a self serve place the government doesnt tax the tip. I dont tip big but I do tip. To me the servers are rude when they come up to the table. Or maybe its just they dont like waiting on us.

First of all there is segregation! I being African-American so was my date. I was seated in the first seat by the door with the trash to the back of my bench. Every time plates were emptied I felt the vibrations in my back. I was told to use the same silverware over an over again! No silverware out for customers! I observed the food being restocked from the kitchen clean pan (I hope) into buffet pan. Suggestion place pan of food from kitchen in buffet then add unused portion! They also replaced food in buffet with their outside winter coats on! Very unsanitary conditions! The food was too greasy (had to smash butterfly shrimp three times in three separate napkins to release grease from the penaeids) Habachi needs a overall new management, makeover, and a CLUE. Oh, ice cream was good.

Ive been here multiple times I believe in giving a place more than one try. Once I had a beetle in my food. The owners wife offered to take 10% off the bill I told her I wasnt paying for it at all so she did remove it. The next time I came back (yes after that I did come back. I was a server for 6 yrs crap like that happens its not uncommon) I called ahead to ask when there lunch special ended they told me 4pm. I got there 15 minutes before 4pm, and the female owner argued with me she wanted to charge us dinner price even though we were there for lunch and w/in their set time frame for lunch prices. Ill never go back. I dont need to be treated the way. The wife treats customers so poorly shes going to drive that biz into the ground. To bad too because the husband gets it.

Went there twice, both times for a company meal, and besides the food being left out all day long and terrible if you didnt get hibachi, first time the cashier gave the rest of my company issues as they thought they were ditching the bill (we were all paying separately) while I was using the restroom before paying and leaving and gave me a snide comment before I knew anything of it. We came back again tonight and Shirly our server became defensive at our light hearted jokes and insulted us a few times during the meal and afterwards crudely reminded us to pay our bill (which we have paid ours in full both times). Shouldve taken back the tip I left for all the terrible table manners and the visible and unreasonable dislike she has towards our company. Never coming back.
