I am very glad I decided to ignore the negative reviews and form my own opinion. I truly enjoyed my experience at MEX. I have been wanting to try it since it opened and am glad a friend suggest we have a group meeting there. I was pleasantly surprised with their separate "Skinny Menu" as I am trying to eat healthy and it’s very difficult at typical Mexican restaurants. They even had a skinny chip alternative to the traditional chips with salsa, one of the hardest temptations for me to stay away from. Both of the salsas that came with the rice chips, mild and medium, had a complex roasted flavor. I had the marinated grilled Mahi Mahi tacos, severed in lettuce wraps…absolutely delicious! Served with a side of black beans, also great for total of 420 calories…not too bad for a satisfying Mexican dinner. They had a lot of vegetarian offerings and my friend had the Kale salad, which I almost ordered too and she said it was fabulous. My other friend had shrimp tacos on flour shells with a side of their lime butter roasted corn on the cob and she very much enjoyed that dish. They even have roasted spaghetti squash I will try next time. Check the menu out on line…definitely eclectic. The drink menu is extensive and the wine list offered a good selection as well. Our server was spunky and very attentive. I did ask for the nutrition list which the menu said was available but the server wasn’t sure where to find it, offered to go to the office to find it. Only thing I would suggest is to have it available for those who may need it. Overall, I will definitely be returning to MEX and will recommend it to others.

Went for a bday dinner. Dont know where to start about this lousy experience. We had a reservation for 7 ppl and had to ask for a 7th table setting twice after getting to the table. My dad asked for the wifi password and the hostess said she didnt know and wed have to ask our waitress (how do you host and not know it) Everything looked overpriced for the quantity, and the quality was semi-ok/good. $12-15 for 2 tacos and side dish. We waited 40-60 mins after placing our order to get our food. The only "Mexican" place I know that charges for chips and salsa ($4) and does bot include refills. Chips were too thick anyways. For the bday we ordered dessert. After it came out we had to grab a servers attention for a candle. The bus boy brings out 1 candle kn the tray but then we had to grab someone elses attention for a lighter. Our waitress comes over and dramatically apologizes bc she realized how dumb the concept of bringing someone an unlit bday candle was without lighting it for us or offering. The only upside is that they didnt change a group mandatory tip rate. Wouldnt go back or recommend for others to even try.

It took forever for the order to come. Granted I was with a large group and it wasnt lunch but the group was split between two waiters and we seem to have had the Lackey of the two. My meal was not what you would call even a warm meal. Since we were already running late I went ahead and ate the hottest thing on the plate which was the tacos. It was either that or be left behind with nothing. By the time the waiter came back to the table where I could express my displeasure he immediately said he would get a manager. The manager asked what could be done and I told him I already ate 2 tacos because I had to eat something. He asked me specifically if he could bring me anything else to eat and I said no because I had already eaten and we had to leave. When I got the bill as expected it was the full price. No empathy at all. I wasnt out to get a free meal but a little more concern would have been nice. The part of my lunch I did it was indeed. But I will not go back.

I get carry out from here every once in a while and i got carry out yesterday 4/30/17 and i will never eat at this restaurant again. I ordered the carne assada steak and it $20 what i got was 4 strips of about 3 to 4 inch long steak and 2 table spoons of rice and 2 table spoons of refried beans. I really thought maybe they gave me a app instead of the dinner. This was so horrible and overpriced garbage i will never ever eat here again. I can get a more filling meal for 6 dollars at Taco Bell. I cannot believe the small amount of food i received for $20. I will be posting my bad experience all over on social media so others do not waste their money at this horrible restaurant. I could have bought a $3 burrito with more ingredients from Taco bell. Horrible, horrible experience.

Food was very good. The tacos in particular are great. Our party of seven waited over an hour to be seated on a Saturday night, which is completely understandable. What wasnt acceptable though was the fact that it took almost 2 hours from the time we were seated till the time our food was delivered to our table, and one entree was burnt at that! Our waitress was visibly upset when we informed her of our issue and stormed off with the burnt plate in hand. The manager was very polite and apologized for the long wait and stated he would deduct that one plate from our bill...and he didnt. This place is not cheap and for the kind of money they charge, better service and kitchen management is not too much to ask for. Will be a while before I give this place another shot.

The worse experience Ive received at a restaurant! My husband and I was referred to this place - very nice decor. We were there for 1 hour and a half without food - it took 45 minutes to get our appetizer and the wrong drinks. Waitress kept apologizing saying the manager will be over to talk to us, the manager never came! As we got up to leave the restaurant, they finally brought our food out - at this time we no longer wanted it. The waitress gave us the bill for the appetizer and to drinks $35.00 - it shouldve been FREE & again, the manager NEVER came over to talk to us!! The place wasnt crowded at all? It was Sunday night, we sat upstairs and was the only ones up there. Next time when Im feeling like Mexican food - Ill drive downtown to Mexican Village!

We went last year to celebrate a friends birthday. The food was very good, the tacos al pastor tasted like in Mexico. It was a great experience. that is why this year we went again to celebrate our friends birthday. The experience has been the worst we have ever had. They changed the menu, the food was horrible, it tasted artificial and very low quality, the shrimps tasted like they had been in the fridge forever, the guy who was cleaning the tables spilled salsa on our table and he did not even try to clean up. The food was worst that in a fastfood restaurant, they microwaved the tacos. For what we got it was overpriced. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. It is a shame that in only one year the restaurant changed so much. Dont waste your time.
