Used to like this place but our last two visits have been just awful. Today we walked in at 2:00 pm for a late lunch. There were only 3 other tables seated and eating. We waited a good 15 minutes before our waitress stopped by to offer a drink, by then we were also ready to order, which really seemed to scramble to poor woman. We waited another good 15 minutes for our food only to receive pancakes that were as hard as a rock, like they had been made in the morning and just sitting around all day. Inedible. That is a fast item to cook any time in any kitchen, batter in the fridge folks, come on. There is just no excuse for it. The salad I ordered was a special that came with soup and "garlic toast". The waitress forgot the soup 2x, again totally scrambled as to what she should be bringing to the table.. It was cold when I finally got it. The "garlic toast" was harder than a hockey puck and had a spatter of what looked like swirl on either side. Seriously inedible. The salad came already smothered with dressing. Special or not, let folks put their own stuff on their own salad. I cant help but wonder how rotten everything must have been in the salad that they needed to serve it already coated. Only had three bites before tasting the unforgettable flavor of turned turkey. It was just gross and this was the second time in the last 3 months we have had a sketchy meal there. The people that work there are nice folks, but are slow movers. For us just paying and getting the heck out of there was the only solution to the bad meal. This place really needs a kitchen/menu make over.

Honestly I love that place to death when is was only own by Nick Manikas, after they change a bit the ownership I think everything went down the hill, the 2 new owners which they are Greek they don’t have any knowledge of what costumer service is, they don’t have respect either for they employees, I know that from people who used to work there because they say that the chef was constantly yelling and disrespecting everyone no matter what, and some of the old waitress are still there just because the first owner, I had recently stop there and now they are serving alcoholic drinks which I think is good so they can keep up with the new restaurants around them, food is good but that’s about it is a bit expensive for what they serve and the vibe is friendly but after all I rather go somewhere else where I could spend the same money for a quality food in downtown Ann Arbor.

Rarely do I say that Ive never been disappointed at a restaurant after eating there five or six times. This is a cute little place with a nice staff, and basic traditional American and Italian recipes, with the occasional Greek dish. Each meal comes served with a soup and each table gets a bread basket, so you begin eating within 5 minutes of sitting down. The meals are very reasonably priced, especially in regards to the portion. My girl and I eat there once a week, and always walk out of there for under $30, after the tip. Give it a shot you wont be disappointed if youre looking for a decent little restaurant thats not too expensive. If youre looking to eat at and pay for a 5 star restaurant experience, go into downtown Ann Arbor and park your car. This type of restaurant is around every corner.

5/10/17 2star: Does not meet expectations. I got chicken strips, and after eating most of it, I found it was raw inside some of them. I left it on my plate (for obvious reasons) and waited for a waitress to stop by and ask if we were alright so that I could tell her that my chicken was raw. Our table was repeatedly ignored as other nearby tables were constantly asked if they were doing fine. I suspected the easily visible raw pieces were deterrents. We eventually just approached our waitress at the counter to pay and inform them about the chicken issue. My meal was comped, which is good, but improvements need to be made in the kitchen (raw chicken) and wait staff (maintenance). This experience did not meet expectations of a diner.

Great fries, mediocre coffee at a reasonable price, and decent service. I had to give it a 1 star since the burger I paid for had severe freezer burn-like texture and dryness, and was overcooked far beyond what I asked for (well done as opposed to medium/rare). The bacon on it was cooked ok, but was over-salted and ruined the flavor. A 2 star I could give the place another try, but with so many other venues around and an unacceptable burger that an hour later actually made me sick, I wont be coming back.

I had the BEST OMELETTE (the classic) with spinach, feta cheese in big chunks and tomatoes this last week. Not only was it cooked perfectly but the hash browns were crispy and all seasoned perfectly. The coffee was always flowing and the wait staff very friendly. This had always been a good place for breakfast but if you want a glass of wine with your dinner, try this gem on Jackson Road between Wagner and Zeeb in Ann Arbor. I cant wait to go back for another Classic Omlet for the Feta. Yum yum!!!!!

My wife and I ordered the Belgium waffle. It was tasteles and semi hard. Definately not worth the $11. My wife ate half telling the waitress that was the worst waffle she had ever I. I agreed. Waitress took the waffle away and showed it to the manager and that was the end of that. This is not our first dissapointment. Another time was pancakes. We will not be eating there again. Extremely disappointed. You pay high prices and you should receive good food. Not at Classic Caffe!

Corned Beef hash, eggs Benedict and many other dishes here are best I have had. I used to travel significantly for work and stopped at many small diners and this one is one of the best. Have brought other people in, just for the corned beef hash, and they agree it is legendary! Great job. Will be back soon (actually I am on my way to pickup an order right now!)

Judging by the other reviews and my personal experience, it looks like the place must have gotten a decent overhaul or new management at some point. Went there for breakfast. Food was very good, coffee was good, service was very good, and price was great. Restaurant was clean and looked nice. Id definitely go again.

The Classic Cup is great. The wait staff and hosts are always friendly, even when they are busy. The menu offers lots of choices. My kids can always find something they like. We often order breakfast for lunch. It is convenient too, theres always a space in the parking lot.

Great food, good and friendly service but the manager is a witch. She yells at the staff in front of the customers and goes in the back and yells at the staff so loud you can hear it out of the dining room she needs to go! Otherwise the place is great.

Could use some interior updates, and a fresh menu. Staff could also use a wall to stand behind while remaining idle and talking or arguing in some cases. Little over priced in my opinion for the location and what else is offered around.
