Yesterday we brought our 18 month old son who has a known egg allergy to Peaceful Meadows. To our fault we did not realize that some homemade ice creams contain an egg base in all of their flavors. His ingesting it led to a very sick kid and an ER visit. I called today and asked to speak with the on call manager. I tried to state as politely as I could that we felt horrible and that we fully understood it is our responsibility as his parents to know what is in everything he eats but suggested that they post it with their other allergy information on nuts, as it is not that uncommon. I wasnt expecting much, but the managers response was lack luster at best. In a "bothered" tone she responded that I should have asked the server and also lots of people have lots of different allergies. The conversation ended with a very unlikely assurance that she would pass my comments along to the owner. My only reason for posting this is the hope that someone with a similar allergy who is unfamiliar will read this and avoid a nasty situation. Peaceful Meadows, go there for the ice cream (pending allergies), dont call and expect a friendly, perhaps sympathetic response.

Just the name Peaceful Meadows is enough to warm a locals heart, based on its long-time tradition, relaxing semi-rural location (despite being right off busy Route 18) and delicious ice cream. Best visited on a summer night to cool down from a hot and humid day, Peaceful Meadows is also one of the few ice cream stands open year-round. Even on the coldest of days we say, "Why wait until the summer and deny yourself of some of lifes great ice cream pleasures?" Additionally, Peaceful Meadows has a knack for hiring the right kids for the job -- hard-working, personable and unlike some of the dopes hired at a few other ice cream stands that come to mind. Some our our favorite Peaceful Meadowns ice cream flavors: orange pineapple, black raspberry, chocolate coconut almond, maple walnut (with pure Vermont maple syrup!) and monthly specials like blueberry cheesecake, apple strudel, pumpkin and peanut butter and marshmallow. Oh yes, and dont forget the amazing coffee milkshake and phenomenal, packed-to-the-gills sundaes. Peaceful Meadows has been around since 1962, further validation of its local legendary status!

Peaceful meadows has to be my favorite ice cream spot in the area, hands down! They are open all year round, every single day (except Christmas) from 10am-10pm. That fact alone makes them awesome since most shops close their doors in the winter, much to the displeasure of ice cream junkies like myself. They offer a wide range of hard ice cream with seasonal flavors as well as sundaes, frappes, cookie sandwiches, etc. Oh and its all made on site so its super fresh and delicious; you can even see the cows hanging out in the back most days (though they are more fun to look at than to smell). Would definitely recommend this spot to ice cream lovers young and old!

Paid 11 dollars for a reeses ice cream sundae with vanilla ice cream. They charged me more money for the reeses sundae because it was a specialty sundae even though one price was listed about all of the types of sundaes. The sundae was smashed into a small plastic cup and not even big for an 11 dollar sundae, the bottom was all chocolate syrup... not fudge... And worst of all most of the ice cream was freezer bitten. Never again. Go to Cresent Ridge if you want good ice cream.

Service is at a walk up window. It was friendly service and quick. Servings are smaller than we have gotten at several other local ice cream places. The flavors were plentiful. I enjoyed the dairy store next door where I purchased cream and coffee milk. Also fresh eggs. Prices were very reasonable there. Too far from home to make a regular stop.

Excellent ice cream, just wish that they would start carrying sprinkles for a topping. The store is adorable. They carry their own milk products which are delicious. Love their chocolate milk! They also have homemade cookies to die for but you have to be lucky enough to get them in time (they sell out so fast.)

Farm fresh and made daily! Awesome hard ice cream flavors! Seasonal sherbet flavors. Low-fat shakes in a variety of flavors. The Banana ice cream was fantastic! Tons of toppings and options, only sprinkles were missing from the list. If youre nearby stop and treat yourself!

Fun just getting there from our home a 1/2 hour away; we are repeat customers and appreciate the luscious ice cream and excellent service. My husband loves the vanilla while I get every flavor from peppermint to black raspberry to coconut to chocolate...heaven.

We tried the apple sundae. It was so lip smackin good that we just called that dinner lol. After we finished we stopped next door at their store and topped everything off with one of their awesome Judys Secret Recipe ROOT BEER. YUM!!!!!

Young lady serving us for our order all messed up....none if the flavor Ive creams we asked for were available...so we settled for plain vanilla....she also pour so much caramel on my ice cream I had to pour half of it out.

Awesome ice cream and a whole lot more. Tons of flavors to pick from. Quick and friendly staff. Black raspberry and banana are the top choices so far for my wife and I. Well drive from 20 minutes away just to get a cone.

The ice-cream here is absolutely amazing. Much more creamy and authentic- tasting than any other ice cream I have had. Also, their pricing is really reasonable. Around $12 for a gallon of ice cream? Thats amazing.

Ice Cream is some of the best around! Beware of LONG lines, but thats because EVERYONE WANTS SOME! The Dairy Store has great prices on milk and eggs, and its all local stuff, cant beat that!

When Peaceful Meadow makes its famous Frappe they use real ice cream not just syrup and milk and the ice cream is processed there along with the milk and other milk products
