BOSTON (CBS)- The owner of a popular pizza shop in Wayland is facing charges for allegedly trying to convince a 19-year-old girl to have sex for money. Michael Giakoumakis, 65, of Framingham, is free on a $500 cash bail after being arraigned in District Court Tuesday. A police report in the case claims four detectives heard Giakoumakis proposition the young woman over an audio listening device. The victim told police she’s known Giakoumakis since she was a small child and that he is a friend of her father’s. The police report describes the shop as “a fixture within the Town of Wayland.” In fact, when the victim first contacted police about her conversations with Giakoumakis, Wayland officers requested Lincoln Police take the case because many of its employees eat at the restaurant and are friends with the owners. The court records state police listened to phone calls from Giakoumakis over the victim’s speakerphone in which he asked what kind of alcohol she liked to drink and if she would meet to discuss a job opportunity. The pair met at another restaurant Monday where detectives outfitted her with the listening device. During this meeting, detectives write Giakoumakis told the victim she would be having sex with married men who “want a ‘vacation’ from their family for a few hours,” and that she could make good money, $50.00 to $75.00 per hour. The report also states Giakoumakis spoke of two women he knows who paid their way through college by having sex with these men. Finally, investigators say, he asked the victim if she had any friends who would also like to do this type of work. Liberty Pizza declined comment to WBZ-TV about the charges. Giakoumakis was ordered to surrender his passport while on bail. His next court date is March 10th.

. The food is in dire need of help. The quality is never consistent or the prices and at least one member of the family will be disappointed with the food. I live nearby and in most cases have to go a mile down the road to Theos. I sometimes order the same thing but the taste is either ok to good but never great. I want to love this place because the female owner is so friendly but they make it so hard with the inconsistency of the food quality and prices. The young staff that take your order seem like you bother them when you walk up to the counter and want to be somewhere else. The same sub will cost me from $9.00 to $12.00. At Theos the same sub cost me $7.50. I hope they can change the food and price issue because I want to be their loyal customer. I rate you a # 6 mainly due to the staff.

I stumbled upon this place a little bit ago and let me tell you, this place had great service and friendly atmosphere, the couple running it, Mike and Cathy, are very kind and seem to know what they are doing, The food was a tiny bit greasy and the pizza was a little slimy, but! on the comtrary the subs are AMAZING!, So many different options not just for the subs but also for all things, so many options, and i throughly enjoyed my cheeseburger sub and a bite of my girlfriends tuna sub, Cons: Greasy Pizza, price a little high, coke sign out from but com not served, Pros: Delicious subs, great service, friendly atmosphere, huge investment in the town it is located in Wayland, many options, i say Liberty was a great bite to eat.

Ate there 4-5 times in early 2015. The issue is 2 of those times I had severe vomiting, light headedness, and diarrhea. Bad symptoms that last 48 hours. Didnt make the connection between the food and the sickness until the second time of course. Anyways they have gone through a management change due to the previous owner being arrested so who knows. Im not going to risk it again. Food poisoning once could be a fluke. Two times out of the very few times I went is an issue. Keep in mind Ive only gotten food poisoning one other time in my life and have no medical problems so Im not sensitive to this stuff. Also I saw another review on here whose family had the same problem so this is suspicious.

Ive lived down the st from this place my whole life and let me tell u. This place is a joke always has been...the only thing keeping it alive is the middle school kids. Come on... 9 $ for a tuna sub...thats an insult. Id rather get food and drink from honney farms next door...at least they remember my name there

I stopped in after two years of being out of state. I know it was bought out and it has definitely gotten worse. I used to come to Liberty as a kid and became close to the old owners Kathy and Mike. Its a shame how it all turned out. Food is definitely worse and while the new owner seems nice I wont go back.

This place has excellent subs, and theyve been in Cochituate almost forever. Whenever Im in town, I stop by and have lunch. The staff is always more than friendly, so my visits seem like a return home. Thanks to Liberty for being there, and serving great food for so many years.

Got food poisoning there a few years back. Saw two other reviews here saying the same thing. Probably not a safe bet. I heard previous owner did get arrested and is gone so maybe worth the risk under new management, Im not going to though.
