Coffee Is Life
LITERALLY THE BEST BREAKFAST IN THE BOSTON AREA! Im somewhat of a breakfast aficionado, I try a new place every weekend. Most places are very average, but a few stand out. Uncommon grounds is such a place. After having tried 20+ breakfast restaurants in the area, Uncommon Grounds comes out on top as the best in Boston. Huge variety in the menu, all kinds of delicious hot drinks and lattes, and the coffee and food are phenomemal. Even more importantly, the food is CONSISTENTLY great time after time, which in my opinion is the mark of a quality restaurant. This is literally the only breakfast you should be concerned about in the Boston area. The only place that comes close is the Friendly Toast in Cambridge, and even that place falls a bit short of Uncommon Grounds. My only complaint is that they need a bigger place, as there is a long wait to eat usually...but I guess thats to be expected when people love your food. Head down, you will NOT be disappointed!

Refused seating after being told it would be "a couple minutes to clean a table" while there were four or five open tables in view. Apparently this was because the chef is a crazy person, according to the wait staff. Would love to try the food, and be more than happy to upgrade the rating if given the chance, but our only experience with this place was wildly unprofessional. Whatever the disagreement between kitchen and wait staff, please sort it out and dont let it affect your customers. Edit: Wildly unprofessional and hostile, too! Interesting that your response to criticism is to get aggressive with potential patrons. As I said in the review above, I would have been happy to come back and remove this negative review and replace it with something related to the food and service, but I guess youd prefer the rating stays as is. Well continue to enjoy the great food and service at Deluxe Town Diner instead.

Amazing food, and the best prices for breakfast and lunch in the area, no other diner compares when it comes to price and quality. I have never once seen the staff be rude or even a little upset, complete professionals and always great service. At peak breakfast and lunch hours this place tends to get a little crowded, but it is never overwhelming or overly noisy. The longest I have ever had to wait was on a holiday weekend and I had a group of four people with me and, the turnover for a large group was only about 30 minutes. Weather permitting they have a wonderful outdoor seating area. The coffee here is wonderful and robust. It is a strong coffee flavor without being bitter or acidic.

This is by far our familys most favorite place to eat breakfast. The scrambles are amazing, potatoes fantastic and crispy, best grain bread/toast you can find. The kids always love the waffles and french toast. Weve been going there for at least 7-8 years and weve tried a lot of different food, not a SINGLE bad experience. Always leave there full and happy. The coffee/tea is awesome too. We always say we want to try the sandwiches but we love the breakfast too much. You have to go if youve never tried it.

Go to for Saturday morning breakfast. A ton of different options which are all delicious. Big portions so you can easily split something. Also a good amount of gluten free options. I recommend one of the scrambles. There can be a wait here, but they have a system that texts you when your take is ready so you can walk around a bit. Parking can also be tight in the small lot but there are plenty of metered spaces around. Also outdoor patio seating in the summer.

I went there with mother in law for lunch. We got there by 11:45, by 12:45pm there was a big line at the door on a Friday. She ordered the sandwich and salad (its a lot of food). I ordered the House Special Burger with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were soft inside and crispy outside. SO GOOD! The burger was tasty too. I definitely want to go back there, now for brunch!

My girlfriend and I stopped in a few days ago for the first time, this little breakfast place is small, but clean and kinda hidden. We ordered the coconut French toast and a egg bacon and potatoes, both were delicious. May I add the food presentation at this place is absolutely amazing! I will definitely be back!

This is a must for me and quite a few of my friends and neighbors for breakfast almost every weekend. The food is fresh and delicious. Feels like family when you arrive - owners and staff very warm and friendly. Hard to say what dish is fave, theyre all really tasty but try lemon ricotta pancakes at least once.

The most amazing diner around. Always bustling, but the food is worth the wait. Be sure to try their seasonal & specialty pancakes-- my favorite. My husband claims it has the best gluten-free pancakes in town. Plus, their coffee is legit. Breakfast/Brunch cant get any better than this!

Cozy breakfast joint, with outdoor seating in the summer. Gets busy but there are always several wait staff. Omelets and scrambles are good, try the house scramble with salami and herb chevre if youre hungry. Plenty of pancakes, waffles and lunch sandwiches to choose from too

Im happy to say, totally underestimated this little gem in Watertown. Took my Moms there recently and thoroughly enjoyed the food, the server was on point. Clearly these guys are taking this cafe seriously and having a good time to. Just go! Check it out.

Ive been here twice now, and both times the food and drink was absolutely excellent - best french toast Ive had! The people who accompanied me agreed. Their menu is extensive. Seating can be limited because its a cozy place, but definitely worth the wait.

Worth a trip out of Watertown. These guys deliver on creative, well prepared breakfast and deliver it with a friendly smile. Had the huevos rancheros and split a side of home made corn beef hash...both excellent. Always a wait for a table on weekends.

Great stop for breakfast /brunch. Always pretty busy on the weekends. They have outdoor seating in the warm months. Food is great, you can order your coffee /tea while you wait and they will add it to your check. Definitely worth the wait.

This place is awesome, they have so many food and beverage options, Im so upset that I have lived right up the street for 6 months and am only finding out about this place now, definitely check this place out, you wont be disappointed!

The place is worth the long wait you can expect. Probably the most popular breakfast place in town, for good reason. If you enjoy a good cup of coffee take the time to heal a cup here. They do take out of waiting isnt in your cards.

Place was busy, but the food was simple and unimaginative. My omelet had spoiled tomato in it. My wifes dish lacked depth and flavor. If you know and want delicious food, then you might want to pass on this place.

We have been going to Uncommon Ground for years. Nothing compares to their delicious breakfasts. We moved 30 minutes away and still make the trip because we havent found anything close to their freshness and taste.

The food here is only okay. The French toast and coffee arent spectacular, even though they have a good variety of choices. Things sound better than they are, unfortunately. There is pretty limited seating.
