One: the "ambience:" Based on other reviews, this place appears to be a sacred local summertime spot. Based on my visits here (and yes, there will be more), this place is a terrific throwback, and appears to have not been updated since the days of shag carpeting and Starsky & Hutch. This may be why so many people get their orders "to car," meaning, they order, and then sit in their car and eat. Two: the food: Its fine. Ample portions at a Family Restaurant. Three: the ice cream Nice variety, good flavor, lots of optional added cost add-on items. My Daughter loves their Cotton Candy ice cream. It makes my teeth hurt just thinking about it. Four: the kids who work there Pretty much what one should expect. Polite enough, and young. Five: the mini-golf Basic course that fills a need as theres not another one right nearby. Its fine, but not well maintained, and the course has other peoples trash (like from the restaurant), and the holes themselves have tree debris. Two things that the person working the shed should take care of instead of just sitting in the aforementioned shed. Conclusion: Its fine, and the locals seem to LOVE it, so maybe give it a try? Note: They are a seasonal establishment.

Typical New England ice cream/fried food shack. If you dont mind no-frills picnic tables and plastic forks, head to Kool Kone. My wife and I split the fried seafood platter. Enough great fish, clams, scallops , shrimp and fries for a small family. The small order of onion rings can easily feed two or three. Ive been visiting this place for at lease three years and its been consistently good. Delicious coating on the extremely fresh seafood. Theyre closed in the winter. Check before you visit.

Best fried clams by plate or roll. Huge portions. Modest prices. Excellent lobster rolls and light battered fish and chips. Loads of ice cream flavors, soft- and hard-serve. Sundaes (lg $4 sm $3). Fried chicken, steak tips kale soup and many more items. Drive-in with enclosed patio and outdoor picnic benches. Season ends late Oct with bargain prices (clam plate $7, blue plates $4). You wont be disappointed.

Make sure to order your burgers BONELESS. Besides that food was so good I know for sure Ill go back. Ice cream was absolutely mouth watering with so many choices. And the employees respected customers like no other place. They were very socially interactive which made the place a very good environment for your family to sit eat and have a great time. overall 5/5 stars for me.

Awsome ice cream Quahog need help just needs quite a bit of Portuguese influence or Cape Verdean truly we would not want these stuffed quahogs to represent the cape... it gets very busy but when placing an order for an ice cream we would at least like to receive the one we ordered first we receive the wrong size then the wrong flavor... you live and you learn I guess

Great at the beginning of summer with the cleaner grease, a little heavy in the gut once the grease trap isnt cleaned. Also, takes too long to order and receive food; try to order on the phone, that is if they ever answer the phone.... Usually end up trying to call them for 20 minutes, get no answer, then just end up at the Gateway or Perrys

The icecream is fantastic compared to other places around here, but when it came to the seafood it was mediocre. 2/3 The Decor could definitely be better. It is just a small hut with a few benches. Could definitely do some more to it to liven it up. 1/3 The service was very good as well, didnt have a problem. 2/3

Not only is this place deep rooted in the Marion community... Its a well loved place. I have fond memories here. They have a wonderful variety of ice cream including my personal preference coffee soft serve with oreos and chocolate jimmies, yum!

Was not pleased they charged $7.75 for a small piece of chicken breast on a hamburger roll. Sign says "Chicken Sandwich" $4.25 but that is for a fried chicken pattie I learned. They need to indicate the difference on the menu boatd

BEST scallops anywhere. Fish chowdaah is almost as good as moms. Even when busy the line goes quickly. Extremely courteous and hard workers. Love it. Oh ya...and the prices are great, too. Great winter menu also!

Great fish chowder with a full flavored thin broth and nice chunks of cod. Kale soup is full of kale and slightly spicy. Fried clams and crispy and grease free. This place is everything a clam shack should be.

Every time I try and go here for anything they are closed. Although hours say they are open until 730 pm that is not the case. I guess Ill be going else where for ice cream and food such a shame.

We were up in MA this summer and visited Kool Kone after 10 years of living in Florida, still the best fried clams, onion rings and ice cream that youll find anywhere. Cant wait to come back.

The owner updated the menu when he bought the place. Not only can you get awesome fried food, but he also makes specials like Grilled Swordfish with lobster butter as well as steaks.Im hooked.

Great food.. Good prices! Its always super busy, yet you never seem to wait long!!! They recently added miniature golf.. I havent played yet, but it looks like fun.
