Ill admit that this restaurant doesnt initially seem like anything spectacular from the outside, but I have gone there several times now and each time Ive come to enjoy and appreciate it more and more. The inside has recently been entirely renovated so it has a very relaxed, modern and clean atmosphere. The service has been friendly, prompt and attentive every time Ive gone there, and the food Ive chosen has come quickly, in good-sized portions, is affordable and has been delicious. The location is a little off the beaten path, but if you are looking for quality American food, at a reasonable price and with a friendly and attentive staff, then I think you cant go wrong for a nice night out here. To be exact... so everyone knows what they are in for... this isnt a 3 Michelin starred restaurant where you can expect some some crazy, original dish from a world renowned chef. This is a casual, friendly, affordable place where you get great service (who will remember you after just a couple times), good beers or cocktails and great food in good portions (and plenty of TVs for the pats/sox/celts/Bs game!). If this is what you are after, which I personally love, then this is the place for you.

Prices went up 20% Black and white has been our late night choice for the past 5 years... They recently changed their menu and all of the prices went up an average of 20% The service is average and the beer is not quite cold (or it sat on the bar too long) Last night me, my mother in law and my wife had dinner Mom had a roast beef sandwich no fires (cause fries are now an add on) I had a chicken sandwich and my wife had a caprese salad with chicken. My wife had the house merlot x2 Inhad a Coors light x2 and mom had a single beer........ out bill? $94.00 with tip!!!! Those are Boston prices!!! On the menu a turkey club is $12 bucks!!! We asked the waitress what happened and she said " At least 90% of our food is made here!" Thats funny because we assumed it was all made here, and at those prices farmed and raised! Im not sure what the ownership was thinking with Charlies doing a major expansion just a few miles away and the brewery opening down the street soon... Sorry Black and White, we cant afford to eat there....

I would give less than 1 star if possible. Sat in the bar area and it was so loud you couldnt hear across the table without shouting. My drink tasted terrible, the black and blue. I couldnt even finish it...you could tell it was just poorly made. The best part is Ive had foor poisoning for over 3 days due to the lemon dill salmon. I will never set a finger back into that place. Ive have never been so sick in my life. Between the unsanitary kitchen and lukewarm food it was not worth the $51 dollar bill. Especially since Ive paid more in dr bills to get medication and fluid IVs since i went an entire 36 hours without food/liquids without it coming back up. Horrible experience, not worth it

My husband and I went to the Black and White Grille for dinner last night. We were ignored for some time before we were finally seated. The hostess was friendly and brought menus and tools as she seated us. After waiting for nearly 30 minutes, my husband finally went to the bar to get us drinks. We waited and waited and no server...everyone kept walking by our table. I finally stopped a male server on his way by but he said he wasnt our server but would send someone over....again we waited...and waited. Finally the bartender came over to take our order. Very lousy service!!! The food was good, but not worth the bad service.

Sadly an awful experience. Waited an hour to have our food delivered while parties seated 20 minutes after us were served. When we finally received our meal, it was dried and barely lukewarm. Obviously our meals were left at the pass for an extended period for no good reason other than carelessness. Its a shame because the meal look well prepared, but if there is one meal that needs to be delivered hot, its a burger an onion rings. Room temperature onion rings are just this side of disgusting. We will never go back.

What an rip off! I ordered their 10 inch Gladiator pizza. It was barely 7 inches in diameter (for you non-math people, that means 45% less pizza). The chicken was that canned junk youd buy at Wal-Mart (you can tell because it still had the taste of the chemical preservatives on it). The "fresh alfredo" was from a jar, and the broccoli was mostly stem. Apparently the B&W didnt change from the old days...

The drinks were awful. Do not try their margaritas, its just straight up salt and lime with nothing else. This Seafood casserole was overcooked and I wish that they had mixed it together for a better but every time. I feel like the scallops and a haddock were little old and had a very fishy flavor to them. The wait was long for Thursday night. But the service was good and everyone is very nice.

We have several options for pizza in Rutland/Paxton/Spencer area, but I dont think twice when ordering from the Black and White Grille. Besides the standard pizza offerings, the B&W has specialty pizzas which are awesome. My families favorites are bacon and onion or Red Hot Chicken pizzas. Cooked to a golden brown with a crispy crust. Ordering one tonight.

Love this place and visit often. However, The last 2 times we visited, the food came out a solid hour after ordering and was cold, over cooked, and we sent it back. Both times were around 8 oclock on a Saturday night. Waitstaff was fabulous, and we still tipped well. We will come back one more time and are hoping for dinner to be how it usually is.

Was my go to restaurant they have absolutely gone down hill italian sub waited over 30 minutes the onion rings are no longer the full yummy ones now theyre the shoe string kind order didnt come with what I asked . Service was ugh ok. Sunday at 1pm. Not super busy at all. I will definitely think twice before coming back

First time dining there, it looked pretty busy when pulling into park. Greeted right away as soon as we walked in and was seated within minutes. Waitress was very friendly and on top of everything we ask from her. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was comfortable. I will definitely return to dine in again

Went to see the eclipse the other day and boyfriend remembered this place from his childhood. We figured wed just get ice cream, but turns out they have gluten free pizza! Really great, waitress was super nice and accommodating with the pizza since I cant have tomatoes either. Well definitely go again.

Was not impressed. 18$ seafood casserole and there was no flavor and the dish was tiny. Couldve gotten better flavor for a little more money at soul proprietor in Worcester. Nothing about either of my boyfriend or my meal impressed us. Not sure what all the hype was for mediocre food at a high price.

THE GOOD: Great food, the eggplant sandwich is amazing. Salads are good. THE BAD: Generally crowded, call before leaving and they will be happy to put you on a list. Even take outs can take 30-40 minutes sometimes. It is a little noisy in there, but overall the whole place has a cozy feeling.
