We returned to celebrate our anniversary, arrived 1 hour early and were greeted by reception: "happy anniversary, you’re booth, as requested, will be ready shortly". So we decided to have a cocktail. An hour went by; we were escorted to our table, from our seat at the bar to a small table in the isle. I hesitated and said: what happened to our booth? The young lady would not look at us and replied we had to give it away. I said, we waited, as you directed and YOU reassured us of the booth. Again she had trouble saying, sorry we had to give it away to a bigger party. My husband replied YOU should have told us that, we would have stayed at the more comfortable bar, which of course was already taken! So, we stood out front and waited as directed for about 15-20 minutes. Then we left. We received a phone call to come back and we reminded our reservation was for 7:30; instead of acknowledging the very unprofessional way we were treated. By the way it was almost 8pm when the call came. We ended up at "Latitude 43" in Gloucester about 40 min. later(we live in Cape Ann), still hungary, were told it would about 45 minutes. While waiting, we explained what happened at Mission Oak. As soon as we found some where to sit, (about 5 minutes), they called us to be seated. The meal was wonderful, the management said "happy anniversary", and offered us a complimentary exquisite dessert. In the end it was a "Happy Anniversary!"

I rated mission inn a long while ago and I have been there several times since. Between food and service there has been a steady decline. Went there on a busy night at 7pm. We did not leave until 10:15pm. The meals took sooooooo long to come out that the server had to keep telling us our meals were on the way. The moqueca dish was so bland and seafood rubbery. This is the dish I usually get but it was much different from the first time I had it. I hated it it was like the person who made it guessed. My wifes steak was fatty and tasteless. The calamari that came out were over cooked like fries. I wont go on about the other meals but for my wife and I our check was $183 plus tip. 3 vodka martini and 2 glass wine. I will not, unfortunately, be returning there are too many other places I like.

VERY DISSAPOINTED!!! This was one of worst places I have ever been to eat and what a waste of money!!! The service is better at McDonalds! Our server Ryan was absolutely terrible, waited 20 min for bread, specified the drink in detail 3 times and he still managed to get it wrong! I ordered a sauce for my steak which arrived cold and then got it warmed up 30 min after my meal had been served, Dont waste your money on this place!!! I also wrote a comment directly on the web site approximately 4 days ago concerning this issue and have yet to receive a response, so apparently customer service is not something that they feel is important

Decent to good food/ decent to good staff but not as professional as youd expect from the type of place they are trying to be. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant but the clientèle in the bar has an aging Miami Vice feel like everyone is running to the bathroom to snort something. Not my cup of tea. For the same price you get a much classier experience at 10 Center. On a quiet night if the bar is empty it can be a nice place to have a drink and appetizer but when the bar is full especially on discount night the clientèle they attract is somewhat undesirable for that type of dining experience.

Been to the Mission Oak many, many times.... Always pleased with the food and the service... We enjoy all the bartenders, they always make us feel welcome. I love the filet oscar, the perpetual tuna "special" and the moqueca... People shouldnt be so quick to bash a place...(after working in the biz for awhile years ago). Things happen and customers can be incredibly ruthless.. dont expect fast food speed when everything is cooked to order fresh and theres 200 other customers in a place.. anyhow my wife and i LOVE it and will continue to recommend it to others...

We stopped in when camping in the area. They have really good happy hour specials on apps and small plates. The bartender, Anthony, is great, knows his cocktails, and is interesting to chat with. He does a good job of being there when you need him, but not overbearing. The cocktail selection is good, but little traditional. The apps and small plates are solid. We had a steak too, because we were having so much fun hanging out and having cocktails, and it was very good. A great cut of meat, well prepared and presented.

There was a little bit of a wait, plus some confusion with our reservation. The atmosphere is nice if youre looking for a decent meal out in a rather loud environment as the place is quite jammed and the dining tables are seated right next to the bar. This is my second time going here and it seems as though the food is quite consistent and pretty tasty. Would definitely recommend to anyone not looking for a quiet night out.

The Mission Oak Grill is one of my favorite places to visit. The food is beyond excellent and the atmosphere is welcoming and hip. They offer a 1/2 price menu at the bar during the week and we make it a habit to stop in at least once or twice to have our favorite dishes. Service has always been top notch with the staff being knowledgeable and friendly. I cant say enough about this restaurant. It really is a gem!

We walked around plum island and ended up in Newburyport. Someone on the street recommended Mission Oak Grill and we loved it. A little steep in pricing but its worth it. Great food. We had a burger, mac and cheese with chicken, Maytag salad, and the vegetarian grill option with arancini. Great sweet potato fries too.

What a dissapointment, The place is very beautiful however the food was the worse we have had since living in New England. The chopped salad is not chopped at all. The Mixed grill is sickening. The "steak" was leather, the sauce was on fire, and the potatoes was so salty you could not taste anything.

So miss the guys who tended bar there.....Anthony and his associate (equally wonderful). They were always attentive, welcoming, and remembered the customers preferences. The female bartenders act like they are overworked, even when it isnt busy, and could care less if you ever come back. So we dont.

My wife and I are Vegan and we received a Gift Certificate. Upon entering we asked for a Vegan meal and were amazed at the creativity of the chef. We have gone back many times calling first a few days before so the chef can have time to prepare. Never been dissapointed!

We just had our 2nd disappointing meal there. Such a shame that such a beautiful restaurant cant get the food right. The swordfish was a super thin cut and very dry, and the vegetables were unrecognizable and dripping in butter. Sad.... but we wont go back.
