FIRST OFF: The atmosphere was great. Our waiter was very professional and attentive ! (Patrick). He was always there at the right time...exactly when we needed another drink...including water... and then dessert- :). Patrick was so charming and polite, and we felt like we were being treated as first class clients. The piano man opened with "Racconte Partiro" by Andrea Bocelli, which is a classic and personal favorite!!! definitely a plus. We ordered a sufficient amount of food: chicken teriyaki, spicy tuna rolls, and several other delightful things. Oh and the thai style spring rolls were fabulous. Our dinner was amazing. Very flavorful with generous portions for a reasonable price. The food was light and refreshing. We enjoyed the fact that when we left we felt satisfied but not as if we over-ate...which we probably did...but we also felt that the food was light and healthful as opposed to heavy and fried/overprocessed etc. At one point we had to move over to the bar to watch the Bruins game. At this time the pleasant and pretty little girl behind the bar came over and helped me with my purse and other belongings (from our table). We then decided to order dessert, because my boyfriend was admiring a picture that he saw of the rasberry torte on the website. We ordered that and did not regret it. We observed as the sushi chef created maki ...he was very careful and sterile (the sushi itself was fresh and vegetables crunchy).A gentleman was polishing already sparkling wine glasses, and the young lady behind the bar was pleasant and informative. We cannot wait to come back and try the Halloween Maki- as I understand it is the fresh sushi we had just tried although the presentation is Halloween-themed and includes crab . Also, did I mention that Patrick went out of his way to turn the Bruins game on after we requested that it be on the T.V. behind the bar?? Great guy!! We left feeling happy and wanting to write this review:) . Everything was awesome until I realized I left my scarf on the back of my chair....as I walked up Merrimack Street towards the restaurant Patrick came outside with the scarf. I am so grateful for wonderful service. Although it is a Saturday night and they were quite busy, everything was great and I will definitely return. Also, the presentation was tasteful! every drink and plate was artfully articulated. Thank you Blue Taleh staff for a wonderful experience in the heart of Lowell!

Ive eaten here many times. And like other reviewers have indicated, you either have really good service or really bad service - but last night was one for the books: My family arrived at Blue Taleh around 6:30 PM on a Saturday night. There were three other parties seated in the dining room and a couple of people at the bar. The place was almost empty - only 3 out of 20 tables were occupied. The hostess asked if I had a reservation, and when I said I did not, she seemed challenged to find a spot for us (in a mostly empty restaurant). Since we were a party of five, she wanted to seat us at a square table for four, and push another chair in on the corner. I asked if she could push another table for two together with the table for four and she said "no, we have a reservation for those tables". I asked to speak to the manager. The manager then proceeded to tell me that they had reservations for 60, 90, 120 minutes from now and that they did not want to disrupt the seating arrangement of the restaurant - those tables are reserved. I asked if all her patrons arrive promptly ? Are they opposed to grabbing a cocktail at the bar while they wait a few minutes for there table ? Can I see you rreservation list ? (maybe I can help you with the math) No. No. No and No. Basically, if we wanted to eat there, we were being forced to cram into a small table while other tables were empty, awaiting patrons that would arrive much later. Again I tried reasoning with the manager, but she insisted our only option was to cram 5 people around a four square small table, while other tables sat empty. We left and dined somewhere else. What utter nonsense ! Ive dined at many restaurants in my life - with and without reservations - and its not at all uncommon to be told, even when you have a reservation, that "your table will be ready shortly" as another party that was there earlier is occupying your "reserved" table.

I would like to preface this by saying until tonight Ive never had a bad experience at this place. First off we were told there was no outside seating because there was a couple there that had been there forever, even after receiving the check. We wanted to be outside because the restaurant was way too cold and although the music was good it was too loud for conversation. All of this would have been fine if I didnt notice the empty table and subsequent folded tables after they seated us inside. Second, we were told that if we were ordering sushi that we should put in our orders now because it would take the sushi chef a while to make anything because of an order placed by Shawn Mendes who was apparently performing the Tsongas. He seemed to brag about this fact which made me feel like my order wasnt as important and would subsequently be put on the back burner.Honestly, this also would have been fine if it didnt take them 40 minutes to get us our sushi even before the chef started the order. When I asked why it was taking so long when the chef hadnt started the Mendes order yet the waiter stated it was because he was taking care of everyone at the bar first. This was the second time he made me feel like my business was somehow less important. 40 minutes for 2 rolls?!?!? Ive been there with groups of 10 and got my food sooner. Very frustrating and disappointing.

1. Over Priced 2. Can not get orders or portions right. 3. Just OK food 4. Average Decor 5. Poor Parking ****Save yourself time and money and look elsewhere!!! I have been to this restaurant 8 or more times and gave it a fair chance. Sure the food is ok but there is better food in Lowell at half the cost. It’s a small place with a very poor layout, nothing-special service and bland decor. I have notice as the months have gone by the portions are shrinking and retaining their overpriced cost. What put me over the edge is my takeout order about 20 minutes ago. I ordered yellow curry and nothing else, no rice, no salad…just curry sauce mixed with vegetables and a bit of meat at a cost of $13.65. Definitely overpriced but when I took the “plastic soup container” out of the bag it was only half full and the wrong type of meat. I would guess just 2 cups of food and sauce. I called to see if I could have this corrected and asked for the manager. The person “Thang” that answered said he was the manager but his manners did not prove this. I told him what happened and his rebuttal was “the container was full and we will triple check your order next time, what is your name” This is not the first time my order and portions have been incorrect. Save your money and find another restaurant that will respect your time, money and customers.

AWFUL food and services. I wish I can give it no stars. I worked at a Japanese Restaurants for 3 years so I know what is fresh fish and what is sushi that has been sitting in the refrigerator for a long time. For the price that was charged, I was expecting at least a decent quality of sushi, but unfortunately, the sashimi we got was simply inedible and awful. When we brought this to the waitress attention, asking her to maybe swap it out and give us something else, she said no. When we ask for the manager, the manager starts the conversation by bringing in the sushi chef and stated that the sushi chef have 15 years of experience and that I only have three, so I am a "liar". it was unbelievable the attitude they show to the customers. You can say I will never go back to this place. And I highly advise anyone to not go to this place.
