JP Licks is known for its ice cream, which is quite tasty. Everyone in the Boston area knows this much. And if youre not from the Boston area, now you do, too. However, what is somewhat less known is that its also a place that sells good coffee as well! And in the mornings, while Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts are packed to the brim with long lines, surprisingly, JP Licks just down the way is not. From regular coffees, to lattes, to caramel macchiatos- they have it all. Im somewhat reluctant to share this information as I enjoy having no lines while I get my morning coffee, but the word is out now! I should note that this particular location also has very friendly staff.

HUGE LINE. Not sure what was going on, because after a certain point the line started to move really fast and when I got to order it was fast and when I got to pay it was fast....I wish people would have let me go around them but there was no room! Put some signs up or tell people who are waiting for their ice cream to let others pass! great flavors and they give you a lot more than what they say so maybe get a size smaller.

This place was really cool. The atmosphere and interior design puts you in the mood for some good ice cream and you wont be let down. I got the Oreo and was expecting pieces of oreo in vanilla ice cream, but thats not what I got at all. It was oreo bits in chocolate ice cream! Genius! Definitely my new favorite flavor. Check this place out next time you are in Harvard Square.

Besides their traditional flavors, J.P. Licks offers spectacular seasonal flavors. You can purchase their ice cream in a hand packed pint, which is always a great addition to the dessert table. Whether its Christmas (candy cane! gingersnap molasses! egg nog!), or Hanukkah (manischewitz!), or Thanksgiving (wild turkey bourbon! pumpkin custard!) J.P Licks has you covered.

I am eating JP Licks as I write this. I would eat JP Licks as I wrote anything. I would eat JP Licks in my sleep if I could figure out a way not to stain my sheets. Seriously some of the best ice cream Ive had anywhere. A huge range of inventive flavors and specail seasonal treats on rotation. I cant recommend it enough!

The Harvard Sq. store is very nice, but J.P licks are great in general! Their membership program is excellent, we basically have free ice-cream a few times a year (on b-day, etc.) This store has very interesting decorations and graphic creations by the staff on the walls. It also has interestingly shaped tables...

Great friendly staff! We shared a great scoop of chocolate minty chip in a chocolate covered waffle cone that was YUMMY! The waffle cone must have been made today as it was so crunchy and good. Cozy spot for smooth coffee and if you can snag the window seats, it makes for interesting people watching.

J.P. Licks is a Cambridge classic. It is a fun place to go to blow off steam after a big test. Their ice cream is always really good and they always have a ton of inventive, cool flavors that constantly change. Sometimes though the people who work there can be a little annoying and want to rush you.

Delicious ice-cream. A *bit* on the pricier side. Awesome staff, who always serve with a smile. Quick service. Free tasting of flavors. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for dessert! Oh, and they have vegan/dairy free concoctions as well!

Ice cream was good, but the service was terrible. Five seconds into looking at the menu and the server got impatient. The cashier was expressionless and barely looked at me, and constantly used her phone. She didnt ask me if I wanted a receipt.

Everything here is delicious but special shout outs to the ice cream cakes! The Harvard Square location is special because once in a while, you can see some Hollywood celebs originally from Boston here.

Good ice cream, but a bit pricey. I did like the root beer float. They put all the ice cream on the edge of the glass and let you know that when you add it to the root beer it will foam like crazy.
