we went into Legal Seafoods after a movie at AMC Braintree. I asked the lady at the front if it was too late to come in and eat. This was at 10:15. She said no. We are open until 1 AM. So, my husband and i proceeded to find a place at the bar to be served. we found two seat at the bar next to a women and between other patrons. When we sat, we had to wait an unusual amount of time for the one brunett to come and ask what we would like. I first mentioned that the bar had to be cleaned. It looked like someone had spilled something on it and it wasnt liquid. She said she would have to come around to wipe it off. I directed her to where it was still dirty. she could not reach it appered to where the bar ended, the edge and it was still dirty. she asked what we wanted to drink and I had to ask for a menu. She then gives us a drink menue, the little one. I asked for an appetizer menu and she gave us the main meal menu, the red one. She walks away and then at some time sends another bartender to us. The man comes to us and ask what we would like. My husband said could we see the desert menu and he was presented with one. the male waiter did bring my husband a cup of coffee and then he goes to the other end of the bar, near the entrance. Then after we wait a lengthy amount of time, no one comes back to ask what we would like. Now mind you the bar was not full, there were other empty stools. So we sit, with a wine menue, a desert menu and the main menu and still no service. I decided that I would put on my coat and see if someone comes to us. The lady finally comes to us an asks if there is anything she can get us, my husband said, yes, the check. I paid the check and left and will not go this Legal Seafood again due to both of the bartenders poor service, and especially the brunette who was on shift at that hour on Friday November 28, 2014.

The past two times Ive been to Legal Sea Food, in Braintree, MA, were just awful to the point of not even eating the entre. Having been there, however, numerous times, I waited to give review because were human and make mistakes. However, the past 2 times being there were equally bad and I--literally--left without even eating the dish served. I went there--specifically--because I dont want cheap and over-cooked seafood. Heres the past TWO experiences VERY recently: Two visits ago, I was seated and even though the place wasnt overly busy, I had long waits. The dish finally came and the fish was grossly over-cooked and tough. I hardly ever send back food but I did as it was awful. The dish came back and the fish was less over-cooked but still over-cooked. I was going to tolerate it--but--the other things on the plate, (veggies, potatoes) were stone cold. I told the server were done and I left hungry. Just awful. The second and most recent time, I ordered my dish and, again, long wait. I specifically asked for something on the menu to be "light spicy" and when I got it, it was super-super spicy, to the point of only 3 bits into it was intolerably hot/spicy (and I like spicy food). The wait staff offered to bring me an other dish, without the spice and I said ok. This was a VERY LONG WAIT. It finally came and the fish was grossly over-cooked. So, once again, I left Legal Seafood HUNGRY and went somewhere else. I can go to a gazillion places, spend half the money and get over-cooked fish. Ill very likely never go back to Legal Seafood in Braintree and what a bummer.

Race discriminatory seating by this restaurant has been witnessed by me on more than one occasion. A few days ago, after my companion (dark-skinned) and I (caucasian), dressed as casual as the other guests, asked the reception desk for lunch seating, we were asked to wait 10 minutes so that a table could be cleared. We were then escorted to the furthest seat in the restaurant from the entrance, bypassing many prepared 2-seater tables, to sit in the out-of-sight private party section, with the nearest seated guests at least 25 feet away. The head-setted escort did not answer me as to why he sat us in the furthest corner and why the table setting was indeed not fresh as we were led to believe during our wait. We walked out. Two years prior, I had a similar incident with a dark-skinned companion when the restaurant was across the street and part of South Shore Plaza. After that incident I wandered through the restaurant several times on occasion to notice dark-skinned people were sat in the rear section of the restaurant. I can see the discriminatory seating policy has now been taken across the street.

We called ahead for dinner reservation (peak hours I would suggest). When we got there we only had to wait for about 5-10 extra minutes. Once we were seated, our waitress greeted us and took our order. She provided us with two rolls - which I thought it was odd cuz "I like me some carbs!". We got clams & oysters for an appetisers. I got a tuna mahi plate with shitake mushrooms, seaweed salad, rice & spinach. Hubby got seafood casserole. Overall, food was great, no complaints except for the "smoked" grilled or maybe seared tuna edges. To me it was overpowering & it didnt match the plate theme "asian". Anyhow, our waitress never checked up on us, hence the 3 stars. I thought with the price we paid, we should at least get a chance to be asked if we wanted a refill of water, soda or wine. I wanted dessert but was never asked if I wanted any. The waitress just handed us the check & thanked us for coming.

I was here a few nights back with my family, I didnt like it, The service was super horrible the waitress name was Tiffany very rude as well. My dinner came out cold, I told her it came out cold, then she gave me an attitude about it and roll her eyes at me intending it to be my mistake. legal seafood bought me out some new hot food, then she said to me "Is the food hot enough NOW!" I also ordered a soda finished and asked for a refill never got the refill. Im thinking to myself what company hires staff like this to take care of there guest. All the other Legal Sea Foods Ive been to has a lot more better service then this one. After the movies decided to get a snack at at Fridays I saw the waitress Tiffany making out with a female bartender from Legal Sea Foods. You can only imagine what type of operation they are running in Braintree. any one goes here and dine good luck

Highly over rated. $18.00 for lunch fried clams. My friend and I were each given 8 clams, two maybe three tablespoons of cole slaw and a small dish of veggies. Lunch was served on a metal cake plate with a paper under it to absorb the grease. My friend thought we were getting an appetizer by mistake and almost said something until she realized it was the meal. I could see the bottom of my plate. Well it did only have 8 clams on it!! I was starving when I went there and left hungry. It took the edge off thats about it. If and When I spend $18 for lunch I expect to be full when I leave. The dinner menu was in the $40 price range. Maybe I would have got 10 clams-ridiculous.
