A co-worker and I are in town for work and weve come to this bar almost every night this week because the food/beer are good and the service was great. A few days ago the bartender (in a bar filled with Celtics fans enjoying game 6) changed one TV over to the Wizards/Hawks game for me while I was wearing a Bradley Beal t-shirt. All class. We couldnt get enough of this place. Anyway, we are from Maryland, so of course we were excited for the Os to be in town this week. We had tickets to the Sox game last night and figured wed stop in at the Pour House for a few drinks before heading out to Fenway. This bar had basically become our regular spot. We went in there, of course, wearing our Orioles gear (its my first time going to Fenway and my Os just happen to be the opposing team? Why wouldnt I be supporting them?). We sat down, got our first beers and were handed some food menus. Everything seemed cool. We spent the next 20 minutes being completely ignored by every server/bartender in the place. We attempted to get the attention of many of them only to see them avoiding all eye contact with us. We are the same exact people they treated well this whole week. The only thing thats changed is that you now know that we are Orioles fans. Look, I get it. Sox fans despise the Orioles right now, but come on. We werent talking trash or trying to cause a problem. We just wanted a couple of beers and a quick meal before experiencing Fenway for the first time. Im not saying we wont ever come here again. I still love the Pour House and Ill definitely be back again. It was just disappointing. If wearing Os gear in your bar is usually fine, but not on days when theyre facing the Sox, I totally understand the thought behind it (even if its a little much). Tonight, the Wizards are facing the Celtics, so Im going to respectfully watch from my hotel room and not piss anyone off. Anyway, thats my rant. You guys still rock. 1 out of 6 great nights at the Pour House aint bad!

Having walked the entire 22 feet from McGreevys next door, we decided that we were thirsty again and dipped into the Pour House. Room at the bar was scarce and we tried crowding behind people to get a drink. However, this makes for an inconvenient situation since the traffic route to the back of the bar is a bit tight. Eventually we got our beers from the very agreeable bartender and decided that a seat at a booth would be more our style. Knowing that our good friend had a big conference to speak at the next day, we decided to stuff his gullet with some food since you can only survive like 39 days on just booze and we were quickly approaching that number. We ordered the Nachos with everything on em. When we said everything we werent actually expecting a wheelbarrow size load of nachos to show up, but that is what we got. This mound of nachos was packed with cheese, chicken, beans, chili, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and tons of other things that are making me full just thinking about them. With a large pickaxe we managed separate the cheese and tortilla layers and use our newly liberated corn shovels to chuck this pile of goodness down our throats. Fantastic!

I am giving the Pour House 3 stars, which by Google star definition means "Its okay". I actually mean this in a very good way. The Pour House is the most okay bar in Boston. Its a standard. It reminds you of your college bar, even if you didnt go to school here. Its always at a questionable level of cleanliness, its usually filled with college kids, and the staff runs the gamut on friendliness, but you know exactly what youre getting when you go here. Its a bar you go to when youre passing it by: "Oh, Pour House. We should stop in for a giant beer before continuing on to wherever were going". Its a bar to meet at because everyone knows it. You can get cheap bar food. A huge Bloody Mary. Its open every day, so you can go drown your sorrows if youre alone on Christmas. Of all the okay bars in Boston, its the okay-iest.

This is the perfect Go-To place on any given night. A mainstay in Boston for 15+ years, this establishment is rarely dead, even on a Tuesday in December. They constantly have half-off food specials for less than $3 for a full meal. My favorite is there Wednesday night chicken deal in which all their chicken sandwiches are half-off. I would definitely go with the Chicken Cordon-Bleu sandwich if you happen across this place on that night. The only reason this place doesnt get 5-Stars is their beer selection is below average but some dont care about that. Whether youre grabbing dinner with a significant other or going out with friends on a Saturday you should definitely check this place out. There is a reason it has withstood the test of time.

My friends and I only stumbled upon this place on accident. Seeking Wings, we went to a 15 cent wing place down the street. However we couldnt get the deal because it was only available at the bar, and we were not 21. We stumbled upon the Pour Houses wings platter, 24 wings representing a worldly mix of Thai, Jerk, Terriyaki, and Buffalo wings. The price was pretty cheap and the wings did not disappoint. Service was average to good, but the atmosphere was great. Not exactly a family establishment, but kids could eat at the pour house with no issues at all. In fact, a dancing 3 year old entertained most of the bar for a while. Overall, an experience Id gladly repeat.

This place does it right when it comes to Boston pubs. I went to this place for one of their 22 ounce frosted mug beers. I had a Sam Summer with my buddy, and watched a little bit of the 1st NBA final game. The bartender helped us with a few questions regarding the area as we arent too familiar with the back bay. The doormen were funny and friendly. More than 20 plasma TVs all over the walls. I wish the bar had a bit more of an open layout, but I cant complain too much as we were just getting a beer. Im coming back for food in the next couple of weeks, and if its "good" enough pub food. Im going change this to a 5-Star. Keep up the good work!

If you are looking for a solid and cheap brunch, this is your place. They serve all the typical brunch staples plus much more. I had the hash Benedict, which was great. Hollandaise was spot on and the corned beef hash had big chunks of corned beef. They were certainly not cutting any corners. The drinks were great too. You can get large mugs of beer and bloody Marys or a mimosa with your own bottle of champagne. The staff and bartenders were friendly and attentive. All around it was a great experience. They do have an interesting seating policy. It is first come, first serve. So if it is really crowded its very difficult to get a table.

It was a solid place, but they overcharged me nearly $200. Thats fine - I get that mistakes happen. I called in and tried to resolve it multiple times. They always tell me someone will be in contact with me or ask me to call some other day between certain hours. Weeks later, still nothing. Its either out of malice or incompetence. Besides that, inattentive, unhappy bartenders/waitresses and unfufilling, watery drinks. This would be a passable bar, but there are so many awesome places around (I mean theres literally 2 bars on either side, and 5 -6 more down the street) that this becomes a total pass for me, and should for you too.
