I have ordered from here twice, mainly because everyone deserves a second chance... The first time I ordered from here I waited almost TWO hours for my food! I called several times to check the status of my order, each time I was on hold for at least 15 minutes.. When my order finally came it was cold and they had even forgotten my drinks. I called to let them know but of course I was put on hold, so I clean up the food that I managed to pick at and I had forgotten I was on hold, I look at my phone and it had been FORTY FIVE minutes!! I hung up, called back and was asked to hold, but before I could be put on hold again I asked to speak to the manager ASAP. I had continued to tell him about my order hassle, the wait for the food, the wait on the phone AND that my order was not delivered entirely, I stated I had been on hold for forty five minutes and he told me his phone said the call was only two minutes... I was not offered a refund on my incomplete order (I would have paid for what had been delivered) I was only offered a "discount" on a dessert if I had ever decided to be a returning customer. I ordered food from here again and SURPRISE!!!! I waited OVER and hour for COLD food... The wings were awkward, mushy, breaded wings with a funky tasting "mild sauce".. As if that wasnt bad enough my sub was cold and had what appeared to be "grease pockets", I have never bit into a sub and got a burst of grease out of a piece of lettuce. I immediately had to get the taste out of my mouth before I vomited. I have no idea what there standard of food is, what there delivery time normally is but for $30 I could have made one hell of a better meal in a fraction of the time. I WILL never eat from this "five star" pizza and rice again, nor would I recommend it even to my worst enemy. Save yourself the hassle and order from Perrys, Dominos, Pizza Hut, ANYWHERE else.. I dont know what you eat, but I assure you its not greasy. weird, cold or poorly prepared subs or wings. Unfortunately, the least amount of stars you can give is 1, but honestly I would give "Five Star Pizza and Rice" ZERO stars.

Ok, So I used to like the place and took my kids there all the time because its really close to home, (like walking distance!) and without a car if I was low on groceries or was just plain too tired to make breakfast or lunch for the kids, I would walk down there with them. Always had friendly service. The other day I was told I left the restaurant TOO messy (food on the floor... I have a 14 month old... duh) and they like my business but didnt like my mess. Well, part of working at a restaurant is cleaning isnt it? its not like i purposely threw stuff on the floor, I didnt even realize my daughter was dropping that much to justify this response. She is 14 months afterall. Well, I refuse to eat at a restaurant if I am going to be scolded for not cleaning their floors up after my children. Thats what you get paid for.

MY OFFICE USE TO ORDER THERE ALL THE TIME BUT THEN WE NOTICED THE PRICES. 5 DOLLARS FOR JUST AN OMLETTE AND NOTHING ELSE WHERE AS THOUGH OTHER PLACES YOU GET AN OMLETE AND HOMEFRIES FOR 5 DOLLARS. THEN YOU TELL THEM YOU WANT TO SUBSTITUTE AND YOU CANT. YOU HAVE TO PAY EXTRA AND TAKE EXTRA FOOD YOU DONT WANT. AND FOR GRAVY THEY DONT CHARGE YOU EXTRA FOR GRAVY BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO BUY AN EXTRA SIDE OF HOMEFRIES W/ GRAVY FOR AN EXTRA 5 DOLLARS. SO IF YOU DONT MIND PAYING THAT MUCH THEN BE MY GUEST. BUT THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS OK AND THE FOOD IS GOOD. ONLY ONE INCIDENT WHERE I CALLED AND MY ORDER WAS MESSED UP AND I COULD HEAR THE GUY IN THE BACK GROUND SCREAMING THATS NOT WHAT THE F*** SHE SAID. SO YEA I THINK HE HAS A TEMPER PROBLEM.

The restaurant looks clean when you go in. The Lamb and chicken over rice was delicious with the white sauce. The wings were good. The next time we ordered there we decided to try something else on the menu. The pizza was awful. It was more crust than anything else and the mushrooms I got on it tasted funny. We ordered cheese steak subs and they were okay. They put a lot of meat on their subs. They dont toast the rolls so they get really soggy. We ordered lettuce tomato and mayo on both. There was barely any lettuce or tomato on the sandwich (2 very thin slices of tomato and a few shreads of lettuce). I would order the things that I tried that I liked, but if I want pizza and subs I will go someplace else.

Waited 75 minutes for an order estimated to take 30-45. According to menu(which they included with order) they charged an additional 40-50 cents per item adding another 2.50 to total price. Charged additional .50 for american cheese instead of provolone on an American cold cut sub. Steak sub so greasy it soaked thru the wrapping paper and fell thru the paper bag as delivery man was handing it to me. American cold cut (1/2) had one slice each of ham, cheese, bologna, mystery meat, with a tablespoon of lettuce and two thin slices of tomato. Better cold cut subs are available at 7-11at half the price. Too many other good places in Essex to get food to bother with these folks again.

This review would be much higher if not for the customer service I received from the driver. I ordered from Five Star and the driver came, and said "Dont order from us anymore". He said they were 11 miles away, which if they were, is totally my fault if this was out of their delivery range, however but they also could have called the app I used and canceled the order. Anyway, come to find out, it was only 4 miles and it doesnt take how rude he was, which ruined the experience of my gyro, which had been delicious, with a fair pizza. I dont know the in-house service, but Id surely suggest pick up rather than such rude delivery.

I formally said best Gyro in Maryland and that still stands except the fact they have this chicken and rice that is SO healthy and DELICIOUS with the same white sauce and this amazingly flavorful multi-colored rice match perfectly with chicken that has been marinated for a week!!! and its red like bourbon chicken but the flavor is undescribable, Ive never met anyone that disliked it; I would say it tastes the way seasoned marinated Mediterranean style chicken should taste. I cant stop eating it literally three times a week. You can also get it with pita bread

Wow, I am definitely impressed with this place. I ordered delivery and the man, I believe his name was Ben, was so friendly over the phone. I ordered the lamb over rice and it is simply amazing. I just moved to Baltimore and this is one of the best meals Ive eaten since Ive been here. He recommended the baklava and was awesome, just dripping with honey the way I like it. They definitely live up to their name FIVE STAR. Highly recommended.
