The best ice cream in the Baltimore Washington area, period. Great variety of flavors, with some you just wont find anyplace else. Pay for parking, limited on the weekends in particular, but worth the walk. Try a hot chocolate with a homemade marshmallow (seasonal); suddenly, youre a kid again. Ask for their frequent customer card and youll earn points toward a chance to spin the wheel for an item or discount. When you spin, they dim the lights, play music, and shine lasers and such. Great ambience, younger crowd. Great place to bring the kids.

This Avenue institution is perhaps best known for its creative and unusual ice cream flavors, but theres no need to fear that you wont find something you like. Some form of the standard favorites are always on the menu. A vegan "ice cream" selection or two is always available. Stay away from the Old Bay - it tastes like what it sounds like, and while thats fine for a sample spoon, theres no way youll get through a full cone. The staff works quickly, even when the line is snaking out the door.

The Charmery is so aptly named because it is simply so charming. I stumbled upon this little shop while checking out the lights on 34th street while they were selling hot chocolate outside. The ice cream here is spot-on delicious and the hot chocolate with the homemade marshmallow has a rich, decadent taste. I definitely recommend this spot to anyone especially families with kids who absolutely love ice cream in a fun, family-friendly environment.

I honestly dont understand why people think this place is so good. I was looking forward to try it, but was first of all upset by the fact that they lack basic, popular flavors (where my cookies and cream at?). I tried the maryland mud, birthday cake, and cheesecake. I was severely disappointed by the first two (way too sweet), but the cheesecake was good. However, it isnt good enough to warrant my going back for a second time.

The most famous ice cream spot in Baltimore and a part of the local culture. They have lots of strange flavors that rotate through, like Old Bay, philly cheese steak or corn. They have some unique more traditional ice cream flavors as well, so theres something for everyone. When its hot out and on weekends the line can stretch out the door and down the sidewalk a ways, so be ready to wait for a while if you come during peak times!

This place is why I am poor. There is non-stop creativity in terms of flavor creation. Does the combination sound gross (i.e. corn and parmesan ice cream)? TRY IT. Its probably going to be shockingly good. Theres unlimited sampling when its your turn to order, so experiment. The ice cream is made with ethically sourced milk as well (Trickling Springs Creamery), which makes the already delicious dishes that much more palatable.

This is clearly the place to be. The line was practically out the door when we arrived, and it moved pretty slowly, since everyone was sampling flavors. They have some pretty odd flavors (like lemon asparagus) and a surprising lack of the classics. I had the apple pie ice cream and it was quite tasty. The kiddie size seems to be the best bang for your buck, since its close in size to the single scoop, but much cheaper.

The Charmery has an interesting selection of flavors but several of them are disgustingly sweet. Theyd probably be great if they were half as sweet, if not less. The non-sugar overloaded flavors are pretty good, just make sure you taste samples prior to buying anything so you know what youre in for. Scoop sizes are pretty big, which is nice because you can easily share.

really good ice cream. creative flavors that sound odd but taste really good together. think Pineapple Jalapeño, Old Bay Caramel and Lemon Lime Caramel Orange sorbet - all very good. they were selling Lemon Asparagus when I went. it was FAIL for me - I love asparagus but it was a bit much in ice cream. but I really applaud them for thinking out of the box.

This ice cream shop in the trendy neighborhood of Hampden is adorable and filled with frozen delights. They make all of their ice creams in house and feature of variety of flavors from your standard vanilla and chocolate to strange but flavorful selections like old bay caramel. And of course, you can add that to a fresh waffle cone made while you wait.

Ice cream heaven. Living across from the Charmery head presented unique challenges, like avoiding the smell of fresh baked waffle cones, so as not to be tempted, and dodging the long lines of crowds, eager to get their ice cream fix. Family friendly, a gem in charm city. The Charmery is a sweet treat for all ages.

The Charmery is a new ice cream parlor and, in my opinion, the best in Baltimore. The Old Bay caramel is the best -- a taste of Maryland in an ice cream flavor. They feature these wonderful spoons that will change color when placed in the ice cream due to the cold temperatures. Definitely do not miss this gem.

This place is an absolute gem! They have so many weird and crazy flavors of ice cream that are all delicious. I had the saturday morning cartoons flavored ice cream in a waffle cone. It tasted like a bowl of Lucky Charms! Ill be back here next time Im in the area to try the cheese and crackers flavor.

EXCELLENT ice cream! Their ice cream is always fresh and creamy and they serve many unique flavors. Keep in mind they switch out flavors (Im not sure how frequently) so if you get super attached to one get your fill of it as soon as you can because theres no guarantee itll be there in a month or two.

Great local ice cream shop, always smiling employees. Ice cream is on point 99.9% of the time, but the flavors that are inventive sometimes miss the mark a little bit for me; definitely something that a more adventurous ice cream person could call a destination spot for the stuff, though!

Fantastic ice cream. A wonderfully diverse array of flavors that constantly rotate. If youve been once, go again because they have something new. Hand made waffle cones are delicious. Pro tip: Tip off your chive with a Baby Scoop of that flavor you wanted to try its only a dollar.

Yummy, yummy, yummy ice cream in a fun setting. The staff appears to love what they do--which is to make sinfully delicious ice cream concoctions. Imagine--an exciting ice cream parlor... But they manage to make it feel like a party when you step in the door. Cant wait to go back!

The ice cream is fresh and delicious and they have unique flavors such as lemon stick (lemon ice cream with peppermint) or coffee and donuts (coffee ice cream with bits of donut). They always have a nondairy option which my husband appreciates (although I wish they had more!).

Best ice cream! Except, honestly, maybe one place down in Nashville but really the best Ive found on the east coast. Good selection with interesting and delicious flavors that rotate, some sound too weird for me, some I try anyway and it ends up worth it. Highly recommend.

Phenomenal ice cream. Easily the richest, creamiest, tastiest weve had in months, if not years. We stopped in on a whim and were blown away. Flavors are unique, interesting, and delicious. Dont miss the salted caramel. Service couldnt be friendlier. Terrific little place.

You never know what will be on the ice cream menu, but you can be sure that The Charmery will not be shy when it comes bringing the boldest flavors Charm City has to offer. Friendly staff and big samples served on metal baby spoons round out a true Hampden experience.
