I was in Baton Rouge this week and had dinner here with my son. We are both vegan and were able to find delicious vegan choices! He had a dish made from chick peas and I had vegetables that they added curry to to make a delicious vegetable curry! Both dishes were wonderful! We liked it so much that we returned the next day for the buffet for lunch. It was perfect! Every selection we tried (and we tried many!) was delicious! The manager was so kind and personable! The food servers were great! (Juliet was our waitress for the evening meal) and I didnt get the name of the young man who waited on us for lunch, but both were great! I only wish that this restaurant had opened in Alexandria, La instead of Baton Rouge. We have NO Indian restaurants here which is sad, indeed! I have to make another trip to BR soon, so I know where I will be dining! Ive always enjoyed another Indian restaurant in BR, but I now have a new favorite! (note, for some reason it says my post will be under my sons name. Thats OK. Im sure he agrees with me 100%) Brenda Franks

Al Noor is a quality indian restaurant. It has a good buffet, reasonable prices, reasonable selection and good amount of seating. It doesnt do anything to set it apart from other indian restaurants in town, but its a solid choice if youre in the area and are looking for good indian food. In that respect, its similar to Indias on Essen. Quality, but nothing to set it apart. Those that set themselves apart are Bay Leaf and Curry-N-Kabob. Bay Leaf for its selection, quality and atmosphere (and sunday buffet), and Curry-N-Kabob for the quality, naan options baked fresh at lunch included in buffet, and hole-in-the-wall feeling. But this is certainly somewhere I would work into my rotation of indian restaurants, but at the current time, it would just be somewhere Id visit once a quarter just to see if anything has changed, while working those other two in more frequently.

I used to go there for several occasions. Our community like this restaurant because the foods has some similarity with our foods. Their misbehave with customers made me surprised. We were very little late after lunch to complete the discussion during a get together of our community. The man turned off the lights and AC without asking us to go. I asked him why he did this, he answered me that their time was over. I just asked him you could tell us to go before turning off AC and lights. The man became furious and told me with an angry mood if I have done I should go. The foods were old and disgusting. They billed for the service but it was buffet, they cant charge for this. It is buffet but there was a notice not to waste foods, the language of the notice was out of courtesy. I will never go there and do not recommend it to anybody for such a unprofessional environment.

The biggest disappointment was that both times I have gone that sat us down at a dirty table with stained table clothes. There were only 2 other tables seated & they had plenty of clean tables available. The first time we were the only people in the restaurant. The time I had the buffet I asked to order from the menu because I am vegetarian and was told no. However, when another group came in 5 minutes later (they were Indian) they all ordered off the menu. The young man who was our server was not polite in anyway and made us feel like a nuisance for being there.

The owner loves his restaurant and its a treat to dine there....I discovered Al Noor about a month ago and Ive had a hard time enjoying my old go-to lunch spots since. If youve never tried Indian before this is a great place to start. There is always a big variety. I havent gotten the owners name yet be he and his daughter, I presume, are super nice and friendly. I love to support this local, diverse dining option! Im sure you would too.

Terrible Indian food. I did the buffet, really wished I had looked at the food beforehand. I would have just walked out. The chicken curry tasted like tomato sauce with a bit of curry spice. The restaurant was also dirty, most of the tables had food on the paper tablecloths which would be understandable except they had just opened 30 minutes prior, so they must not have cleaned the night before! The bathrooms were disgusting.

Best Indian food in town. I love the quality selection on their buffet line and how they rotate in new dishes often. Every time I go Ive been able to enjoy either a totally new dish or a different preparation of the same dish. I really enjoy tasting all the different ways they can prepare palak paneer. The staff are friendly and attentive. You have to go for the buffet so you can sample just how talented the chef is.

Service is very good as is the food. Its a little disappointing that the thalis are not available all the time. Theyre an excellent way for a single eater to have a balanced meal (protein *and* veg) without over-ordering. (And theyre quite delicious!) I mean look at the photo? Would you rather have a single entree or this when eating by yourself with nobody to share with?

Totally authentic! Totally delicious! And the price is right! I love this place! Every time I go to Baton Rouge I eat here. Sometimes twice or three times in a two day visit. I love East Indian food and this is the best restaurant for it in all of Baton Rouge. The service is fantastic and very friendly people. You know its good when other East Indians eat here.

The worst Indian food is served here. I have my friend who worked here and he mentioned that food as old as two days is heated and served as a fresh food daily. The conditions under which the food is cooked is not hygienic. When you go a bit late to the restaurant you will see that the dishes are over and they wont even bother to do a refill.

Every Indian restaurant I have eaten at, including this one, serves rice with the entrees. Just ordered 2 entrees for my wife and me through waitr. Over an hour later, the food gets here and theres no rice. I called and they said rice is seperate. $12.95 for chicken tikki masala that doesnt come with rice? I do not believe this.....

Fantastic Indian Food! I know it is very low key and not exactly packed, but the food is awesome. Imagine the equivalent of your mom and pop Italian restaurant that has the grand kids cooking Gmas recipes. We visit routinely because we live close. Please try it out! We want to make sure it sticks around!!

I have eaten here about once a month since they have opened and I have yet to have anything I dont love. All my friends love this place and its the only Indian restaurant we will eat at in Baton Rouge. The staff and owner and chef are extremely friendly and always there to please customers.

Have been here twice for the lunch buffet. Seating area is kind of dim and dank, in that restaurant-in-an-aging-building way. Food is stellar. Have gotten table visits from management each time I went. Unfortunately I dont go often enough to get a good gauge of the value.
