The wife and I were suppose to go out this night for our anniversary but our babysitter backed out of on us last minute, so we decided to bring our 2 daughters ages 6 & 3. Food was excellent! Service was excellent up until we got our food. After that we never saw our waiter until we got the bill. I never got a chance to get a 2nd drink.....ok I will just drink some water. We told our daughters if they behaved well, they could get dessert which they did. But we had to flag down one of the hostess to get a dessert menu after looking for our waiter for 10 minutes. Then we waited for at least another 15 minutes and still no sign of him. So we decided we would reward the girls elsewhere for dessert. So when our waiter finally showed up with bill (wife & girls already left for the car), he asked "Oh...no dessert for the girls?" And I said we wanted to order dessert but the girls had grown restless by then and that we got tired of waiting for him since he brought our food. All I got was my expensive bill and "Im sorry" and walked off. To top it off the restaurant was not even packed, it was only 2/3 full. When I walked out the hostess asked me how was our dessert and I told her the same thing. Same response. "Im sorry.....have a good night". My career is in sales and when you provide no service and a lukewarm caring attitude like that, people dont come back regardless how good your product is. They had 2 chances before we left to make some type of gesture more than "Im sorry...have a good night!" Its sad when a restaurant chain like Applebees or Texas Roadhouse can totally outperform you on the service and customer satisfaction department.

Graduation Dinner: Celebration night with family from Oklahoma City, so we wanted to go somewhere nice. I booked the outdoor patio a month in advance and CHESTERS did well to call and confirm the reservation before the event. Reservation was for 5:30 pm. The ceremony ended earlier than expected so guests arrived to dinner about 5 pm. It was no problem for CHESTERS & they simply accommodated my guest until I arrived. I was greated with a warm welcome, and the staff went above standard to make us feel welcome and honored that evening. I think we were all pleased with the ambiance of the patio overlooking the lake. There was a lovely fireplace and heated lamps for warmth although it was a beautiful day. CHESTERS had no problem helping to get the table of children settled. The staff was professional and knowledgable about the menu. I chose CHESTERS for the lovely patio setting, it comes highly recommended for fine dining in Wichita, and for the variety on the menu- able to serve an array of tastes and budgets. The service was beyond standard, and the scenery was very appealing. Where CHESTERS fell short was the food. Most guests enjoyed their plates but for the top dollar steak, lobster, crab Mac & Cheese, weve definitely tasted better. My husband ordered bone in rib eye medium rare. The steak was overcooked, but another steak was promptly prepared no questions asked. Im glad my event was hosted there, but I dont think we would return based on the quality of the food. All in all THANK YOU CHESTERS for helping to make my graduation night special!!!!!

I would consider myself a foodie and love a good dinner. However, Chesters is by far one of the worst dining experiences I have had in Wichita. The bread they serve at the beginning of the meal was sub par and not paired well with their mystery dip they served with it. My girl friend and I ordered the Mussels which were the only highlight of the meal as they were delicious. Next we ordered the Fresh Mozzarella & Tomato...The Tomatoes were mushy as if they had been cut 5 or 6 days ago and the Mozzarella was at least 3 days old or store bought, just awful. Then we got our Petite “Bistro” Filet...I could get a better steak at Apple Bees. It was cold, the bluecheese crumble looked like a gray patty of potatoes on the steak. The "wine" sauce tasted like diluted ketchup. Then we get to the potatoes. My girlfriend order the Roasted Jacket Potatoes and the sauce she received with them tasted the a spicy version of the "Special" sauce that comes on the big mac. I received the the loaded baked potato. While looking at the plate which had everything seperated to put on the potato. The cheddar cheese looked like Orange bell pepper. It was hard a greasy as if someone had shredded it and then left it out all day. We didnt even eat that. As we were leaving my girlfriend steps on a potato that was dropped by the waitress. Honestly, Chesters is a complete waste of money money and Im honestly surprised Im not sick today with the quality of food that was served. Save yourself the trouble and dont eat here.

Never going back.. first off the staff takes your food off the table without asking if you are finished. I was talking to family members and looked down and plate was gone and I wasnt finished! My husband slipped and knocked over our shrimp appetizer all over himself and yes, I understand it was our fault, but thought out of courtesy they would bring us a new one without charging us. They didnt- we got charged for a new one. Come on, our bill was over $500! Then we get home and realize we were charged for the same side 3 times and only asked for 1. It was our first time there and there were 7 of us so we just thought they split the order into 3 small portions. I called to see if they would correct the mistake... I cant even describe how rude the manager is. Truly, I cant! He should be fired!!! He has 0 customer service skills and is the main reason our family will never go back. Dont waste your money- its decent food but if they mess up on your bill you better be prepared to eat the mistake or get blamed for trying to rip off the company.. after all "Im just calling to try and get items taken off my ticket so I dont have to pay for them" He said more but Ill stop there...

A steak restaurant that cant cook steak properly! Not kidding. I found this place online looking for a New York Strip steak in Wichita. Went there the first time on a Sunday evening last month. Despite their website saying that you better make a reservation because they are full all the time, the place was almost empty. The service was very nice. Its very pricey (New York Strip is $40 and that does not include any sides), but I was willing to pay for good food. Too bad. The meat was not cut evenly, much thicker on one end than the other. And of course the two halves of it ended up cooked differently. Well, I didnt mind sampling what was basically 2 different steaks. And the server brought 4 different sauces to try. I ended up liking the steak(s) with one of them and decided to give this place another try. So tonight was my 2nd visit, and it will be the last. Because this time my steak was not only cooked differently on the two ends, it was also burned to a char on the bottom. What a shame. This place is clearly overrated and not worth the money.
