After moving here from Omaha where we used to eat Olive Garden at least 3 times a month, we were happy to see that we lived even closer to one after relocating to Des Moines. First off, the food is great, that is not why I am writing this review. However, the regional manager/manager is horrible. He is an elder guy and the two times we have been to this location in the past month he has been rude. The first time we came in we had a coupon of 5 off of 2 entrees that my mom had at home that she received in the mail. She sent a picture of the coupon for us to use since she never goes. After trying to use it he manager told us that it didnt have the expiration date at the bottom so he couldnt accept it, even though it had the scannable code, and the promo code number. He said he could not do it as a courtesy and said that they have millions of dollars in coupon fraud every year and assumed that that is what we were doing. Who in a management position would ever go back and forth with their customers and accuse them of something like that? I work in customer service, thats not how you handle a situation like that. He didnt accept the coupon and told us just to make sure we can include the expiration date next time. Last night we went back to Olive Garden and ate again with another one of our friends. Bill was $55 and at the end we asked our server if we could use the coupon. The same manager came over and looked at the mobile image of it that we had. He told us "we dont accept images of coupons. It has to be the actual copy, even if it is from the Olive Garden email or a mailed coupon. This time the coupon had the expiration date, the promo code and the scannable code. He said we couldnt scan it on the ziosk because the "scanner isnt enabled yet". He then said that in the fine print it explains that they have to be the actual hard copy as well. He excused himself and walked away. We read the fine print and nowhere did it say that. I know $5 is not a lot, however when you are a full time, broke college student, it adds up overtime and its rare we go out to eat. Not only that, but it is also the principle. We tip our waiters and waitresses well, we are not a rowdy table and we treat everyone with respect because we know what it is like to work in the serving industry. However, words cannot explain how frustrating this is and how it has ruined the entire experience both times. Very dissapointed and will not be returning to Olive Garden.

I called to order a pickup order for me and my girlfriend and the young girl that answered the phone instantly put me on hold and said she would be right back. Eight minutes later I can hear her come back from the hold but didnt pickup the phone to talk to me, I could hear her in the back ground talking to her fellow employees and laughing as well as talking about my order. So I hangup and call back, I get the same girl and she puts me on hold before I could even say anything saying she needs to put me through to her headset so she can hear me better, another 8 min. Goes by and the same thing happened. I call back a third time and get the same girl, to which then I told her what she keeps doing to me is completely unacceptable and unprofessional, she said that they are "busy" is why she kept putting me on hold, but I could hear her chatting and laughing with other people in the background. She finally got me over to the manager and he was able to help me right away and threw in two free pies. Im sure the food will be fine but that experience was horrible and time is everything to me, as I work alot of hours, so waiting in a parking lot for 20 min. On hold is a waste of my valuable time. Will not be coming back to this location again!!

The breadsticks were hard. Both batches, served at different times so not sure if the recipe had just changed. They didnt seem overcooked. Still tasted fine. Just really dry. The chicken and shrimp carbonara was pretty good, kinda pricey. The lasagna was cheesy and excellent as was was their meat marinara. The stuffed tortellini was really cheesy and did not skimp on filling. Salad was a little disappointing. The lettuce was not refined. Lots of hard, bland stalks cut into big pieces. I used to think their dressing was the best but now it has lost its uniqueness. appreciate The pepper mills at The table and their always offering of freshly grated tableside cheese. Yes please. Dont stop please. The potato and sausage soup seemed watered down a bit but the fajole and chicken gnocchi were awesome. Shouldve had more. Craving it now. Neat electronic menu and ordering option. Used the check out feature and it was smooth, fast. Love the technology. Will have to bring my niece.

My boyfriend and I love Olive Garden because they have great food and we love the breads here! The only problem we had with our experience was with our sevice. I am a host myself at another restaurant and I can tell you, its not hard to flash a smile at your customers, its not hard to direct them so they know your being taken to your table, its not hard to make small talk in order to create a positive atmosphere, and its not hard to look like you like the job you are getting paid for. The server wasnt too good either. She never smiled, spoke in monotone, and walked away before my boyfriend could even finish his sentence. Everyone seemed liked they were unhappy and that we had inconvenienced their time. It was only about 4 pm when we went so its not like they were trying to get other work done or it was a busy time

Last week we had the best experience here. I came in with my sister, her fiancé and their child and was pleased to have the most positive server that night. While we were seated we noticed this gentlemen named Zach rushing around trying to find out if we had been taken care of and we kindly said "not yet, its totally fine you seem busy". He stoped what he was doing to take our orders for drinks and decided to take our table after already working since 8 Am and it was clearly almost 10pm. We felt bad that he was about to clock out and insisted on helping us make sure we had the best dinner even if it meant him having to stay late. He was so friendly and even recommended us on some deals. He does so much and loves his job even on those long nights. Thank you Zach for everything you did and continue to do.

Well, my friend Lena and I went in for a late lunch the other day and were seated in the bar area. Our server, Kaitlyn or Katelyn or however you spell it, was by far one of the best servers I have EVER had anywhere. She was attentive to our needs as well as kind, polite, and hilarious. Keep in mind my friend and I are in our early 20s so most servers choose to spend more time on the people who will most likely tip better. She, however, did not discriminate against use based on our ages. She made our dining out experience an absolutely amazing one. I will be requesting her area the next time I eat there... She definitely is worth her weight in gold :D
