Amazing, my mother (born in Durango, Mexico) approves of this highly. My mother used to live around central america, working as a house maid, and she said that she was extremely impressed with the diversity of food. She says the authenticity of the food was spot on. She said the food tasted like she cooked it herself. From my perspective, I would agree on the authenticiy of the food. As my mother cooked many, many types of different types of food when my whole life, I had a clear expectations on the food, and El Taquito blew me away. Not to mention that the athmosphre is extremly clean. Also the fact that the food is served within 20 minutes of ordering is remarkable. In my own opinion, compared with other Mexican Style resturants: Compared to West Libertys "El Patio", El Taquito wins Compared to Iowa Citys "Los Portales", El Taquito wins Compared to Iowa Citys "La Regia", it is very, very close, but El Taquito wins once again.

Excellent Central American food. The use of fried bananas made me skeptical, but it work it added a nice suptle flavor to the dish. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I am the first one to grab the hot sauce, but it was completely un-necessary here. Not because the food is spicy, but because how well balanced the seasoning was. Only two minor criques that cant tarnish the 5 stars for the food. The salsa was a bit on the salty side and the margarita was too sweet. With that said they both complimented the food well. The service was attentive, without being intrusive. Well done! This place earned its seat in the rotation of restuants I take people to.

Service was great, waiter very attentive and nice. Chips and salsa were good, but the rest of the food was below average and overpriced for what it was, at least I thought so. Bland and dry. I dont get to go out very often, so I was very disappointed. I was going on all the 5-star reviews I saw on one website, so that probably made it even more disappointing to me.

Really good food on the buffet. One of the better features is that you request tortillas so the come out piping hot. There was plenty of variety on the buffet: shrimp, rice and beans, red rice, pork, chicken, plantains, etc... They even have chicken tenders for the kids and chorizo/hot dogs for the more adventurous kids. Definitely recommend it.

Fast friendly service. Great salsa that you can get to go for a good price. Cheese and chorizo dip is very tasty! Worth giving it the 2nd chance! Stopped by when it first opened wasnt impressed they have done a great job with this place!

HORRIBLE service and the prices were expensive! Waited for 20 minutes for our food never came we left came to a different restaurant! WILL NOT EVER BE BACK NOR WILL WE EVER RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!

Didnt correctly bring our margarita order out and added extras to our order without asking. They wouldnt correct the bill even though we explained that it wasnt what we ordered.
