Neat little restaurant in downtown Muscatine. Food (pizza and pasta) were very good...once we actually got it. There was just one other couple in the entire restaurant from the time we got there until the time we left. There were two people behind the bar, two people (a third arrived mid-meal) in the kitchen and one waiter. There wre only two of the staff that were obviously interested in doing their jobs...the bartenders. They never moved from behind the bar. Unfortunately no one in the place was ordering anything from the bar. The waiter was apparently personally acquainted with the other couple that was dining because he spent almost our entire visit at their table talking. As for the kitchen staff...if they spent half as much time preparing and cooking our meal as they did standing in the kitchen doorway starring into the dining area we might not have waited almost an hour for a pizza and a plate of raviolli.

Friendly, helpful waitstaff. Relaxed decor with exposed stone. Dark at first, since theres almost no natural light, but once your eyes adjust, its not bad. There seems to be a nice variety of drinks. There is a bar, booth and table seating. The salad was simple, but nice nonetheless. The food wasnt extraordinary, but I cant fault much other than a lack of presentation and perhaps a higher quality of ingredients would improve the experience. They do have a small section on the menu for gluten free options (three items), which is more than many can say. The waiter did ask if I needed the food to be truly gluten free, which made me feel more secure in the preparation of that dish. He also made a point to keep the non-gluten-free items separate as he brought them the table.

Ive been going here for years. The pizza is always delicious and fresh, the waitstaff friendly, and the choices unique. I love the Uptown Utopia for the hot goat cheese taste, and most of them with the Fill the Basement option are fantastic. Its like cheese-stuffed crust but the entire pizza. The calzones are to die for, and the Muskie Sticks are a great deal. I enjoy the decor of the place, the exposed brick and low lighting. Makes for a great romantic setting.

I was on a business trip in Eastern IA and heard about this place from a gentleman in Le Claire. Stopped in and had a great experience. Atmosphere was great and food was even better. Mitch the manager was awesome and super personal! Even the locals eating here were nice as they chatted with me while I was there. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great experience. I will be back for sure.

Can I give six stars? I would if I could. Really amazing food. Top notch service. Cool building. We tried the pizza and a pasta. Both were superb. They have some really fantastic vegetarian options and some great health conscious ones as well. Highly recommend. :)

Neat place underground. I got the bunless chicken philly. The chicken was lacking flavor and way, way over-cooked. The rest was just okay. Cheap lettuce salad with a few tomato pieces and some parmesan. Just an okay dinner, not good or bad.

Very accommodating service. We had the Reuben pizza with mushrooms and it was crazy delicious. The friendly owner swung by our table to make sure everything was to our liking. Will definitely return.
