Wig and Pen should be translated Heavenly Bliss. Flat out the best Pizza in the area. The flying tomato should be on a flag somewhere and is good enough to eat multiple times in a week if youre down! Wig and Pen East is a carry out or delivery only joint that serves up the same great stuff you look for from the store on the Coralville strip. It may be that we havent ventured far into the Coralville menu, but we both felt that they had more on the menu in terms of pizza options. We had "The Carnivore" and straight up yall, it is an amazing specimen. The symphony of many pigs )Canadian bacon, sausage and pepperoni) and a single cow (beef) frolicking together beneath delicious cheese and some decorative, but necessary, slices of tomato was pretty rad! Topped with some side salads to make it healthy and date night was had. We used a livingsocial coupon and had a total that came to $28 minus 25 w/ the coupon. A great spot for some great pizza thats different from what youre used to crust wise, but that will keep you coming back!

You will be told by adherents that the flying tomato, a style of pizza unique to Wig and Pen, is great. This is wrong. The flying tomato is mostly cheese. Unless you like cheese pizza, the flying tomato is eh. What you will probably want to get instead is the Chicago Style stuffed. It doesnt cost any more than the flying tomato, but has far more flavor. Theres a pretty narrow variety of pizzas available. This isnt a bad thing, there arent any lame ducks on the menu. The best thing is the spicy Hawaiian. You can build your own with toppings, but thats costly. The per topping price is much higher than other pizza places.

I have had great experiences eating in at Wig and Pen but when I tried to order delivery from them my experience was awful. After being put on hold for a significant amount of time the person who took my order seemed incapable of remembering any information I gave them. I had to repeat my name, address, and phone number multiple times. After I was finally able to get my order I waited 30 minutes only to receive a phone call telling me they could not deliver my pizza. I would have rated the service worse than "Poor-Fair" if possible.

Honestly worst experience Ive ever had. Had a house full of people and called for 3 large pizzas. We waited an hour and a half and they said it would be there in 35 minutes. We called them and they said someone canceled our order. And they hung up on us. We went in there to see what was going on and they said they were busy and had a miscommunication and discounted us 5 dollars. Seriously? By this time its already almost 9:00 p.m. How ridiculous. TERRIBLE customer service.

Ive eaten every pizza available in Iowa City at one time or another over the course of the last 35 years, and the best Chicago-style pie in town is the Greek veggie from Wig & Pen East. The shop is nothing to look at, but, then, its carryout only. My order is always ready on time, and the guys who work there are friendly. Whats more, their online ordering site actually works! Highly recommended.

Tip: Order online. I was going to order online but then decided to call. After I ended the call, I noticed that they quoted me $5 higher so I called back and asked why the online price was cheaper. They only lowered it by $2. Really wished I wouldve just ordered online in the first place! They definitely should get this fixed. Service not so good pizza okay.

A good offering for Chicago Style stuffed-crust pizza. Worth the stop, for sure. The deep-fried ravioli was delicious and memorable - first time I had ever tried it, or even knew that it was a thing. Nice! (Breaded pork tenderloin was not so exciting - seemingly a deep-fried-from-frozen variety - Id pass on that next time around.)

really good tasting food but it will take years off your life because everything here will clog your arteries. it is probably the worst food for your heart but its america, everyone eats fat and cheese like their life depend on it. good restaurant, but profiting on blocking your arteries.

This is my favorite pizza in town. I usually go with the thin crust union jack or buffalo chicken pizzas. They use really good cheese and toppings. It is really good pizza. They also have delicious wings

Great pizza. So so service. Like others have said, I was immediately put on hold for at least 5 minutes when I called and had to repeat my information several times when they finally took me off hold

Good food. Quickly made and very easy to order online. Staff was nice when asked for a substitution. Nowhere to really eat inside but easy to get to.

Im a HUGE fan of Chicago-style deep-dish. If you cant wait until your next trip to the Second City for a pie, Wig + Pen has a great deep-dish.

I love pizza and to be more specific deep dish. There arent a whole lot of deep dish places in Iowa so I will take what I can get

Attitude issues. 20 min prep time with one standing customer in line. No sit down place. Just take out.
