I have been to Starbucks in Iowa City before, the service is normally good due to the busy location on the college campus. I was greeted nicely and my order taken, this is where it went down hill, the young lady fixing the orders was not polite nor was she friendly. It took 12 minutes to get my French roast coffee and this is after I started timing the event , when it was put on the counter she was really having a bad day I said thank you and she gave me a glaring look. I went to the prepping station and there was no cream. I took the container to the counter and I was ignored several times I finally just left it on the counter and I had black coffee this Saturday. I will not use this Starbucks again I am on the campus almost every day as I work for the University. There are other places to purchase coffee and I think my money should be treated better than this. My not being a patron anymore will not change a thing for this location but how many patrons will you lose because of my visit? As I said before there are other places to purchase a cup of coffee.

Had an akward interaction with the "baristas". First of all I felt rushed, and you could tell either the lady behind the counter was nervous or she was just in hurry to get me out of line. Secondly, I was told my refill of my coffee would be 15 cents and it was actually 53 cents. I may have miss heard her, I may not have. I dont know but thats not that big of deal. Lastly, I wanted to know what a tumbler cup was because one was on sale and I wanted to get one for a present for a co-worker, so I grabbed what I pointed and asked if that was it, and a swarm of employees surrounded me grabbing cups trying to figure out what I wanted because NOBODY knew what a tumbler was, so I just told them figure out what a tumbler was and Ill pay for it and went back and finished my refill, because I knew I was holding up the line and they were getting frustrated with me. But anyways great coffee.

Compared to other starbucks, this is a solid one. Im from Seattle, and worked as a barista for 4 months. Love the fact that they still sell coffee in bulk at this location (I like to buy 4 oz of beans at a time so that my coffee stays fresh). One afternoon, I had to work with a newer barista, but they were able to hang with me and still get my coffee). They have the reserve offerings here, which is always great. Solid table arrangement, and a spacious patio outside too. And as always, the best wifi you will ever find. That alone is worth the $2 drip coffee I get.

Went to the downtown Iowa City Starbucks just now for the first time and the service was slow since these two women ordered 16 drinks in total. I only ordered a tall Frappuccino for myself and yet several people behind me got served first. I watched behind the counter the entire time as my empty cup sat there while I waited 15 minutes. I go to Starbucks regularly and this is by far my worst experience to date so I will never go to this one again if its my closest option.

Our company just finished a job and we came in to get a coffee at 10:55 pm. Not sure about when Starbucks close. The Barista behind the counter assured us that he would serve us. we ordered some specialty drinks and were served in a very timely fashion and friendly an professional service. It was only then that the barista let us know they closed at 11:00 pm, upon my insistence. The coffee was, as always excellent and the service was top notch. Thank you, again.

I wish Starbucks would get their card promotions straight. I have a gold starbucks card, and on their web site they hype the fact that if you buy a pound of coffee at one of their company stores, you get a free tall drink. Yesterday afternoon, I went to buy a pound of house blend at the Clinton Street store, and she says--no you only get a free tall drink if you buy the tribute blend. Please dont hype deals you dont honor!

When I visited iowa city I needed a quick breakfast place to eat and I went here. The food is pretty good and so are the drinks. Just dont buy the chocolate croissant, it has way to much chocolate. The coffee is pretty great and expected for a Starbucks chain. Love the breakfast sandwiches. And like the nice staff.

honestly I know its a bust place but the service is so slow and subpar that its no excuse. when you buy a mocha and you spend 4.72 on a small you cant help but wonder why you just spent that on something that never is made right and could be done better at any of the local places for half the cost

I really like the pastries that they offer but tend to sell out quickly. The coffee tastes thoroughly roasted, which sometimes is unpleasant but has A LOT of caffeine. They are usually very busy
