Wed heard from a friend that Tailgators boasts the best burgers in the area, but after frequenting shorts, we were skeptical. After trying Tailgators, its a much closer race for the best grilled cow around! After walking into Tailgators, youre greeted by 70s decor with more modern tables likely procured in the early 80s. There are ample dart boards, pool tables and the game changer - a ski ball machine! For dinner we started with some gator tails - fried pickles to the layman. Surprisingly good for what they are. The beer selection is decent with some good specials most nights. We money here was the burgers - as previously advertised. Each of the specialty burgers is named after a Big Ten team. The Nebraska themed burger - The "Gotta Be Nuts" burger graced my plate. The combo of bacon - beef - fried egg and peanut butter was much better than expected and the pretzel roll was a nice addition. My fine wife took down "The Swarm" - a half pound of awesome topped with cheese thrice and a fried egg - shes quite the connoisseur of egg topped burgers! Overall, the burgers sizable and delicious. Well worth trying out. Tailgators is a solid middle of the road place for burgers and fried goodness. Plenty of TVs and pass the time sort sports as well as decor that reminds you of shows from the 80s. Were looking forward to seeing what other burgers they come up with! Well worth trying.

If youre looking for darts or pool, there are a fair amount of boards / tables compared to most places in town. Karaoke twice a week, that seemingly caters to a number of regular attendees. Bare-minimum available in terms of liquor options - particularly bourbon and whiskey. Beer was largely what youd expect in a place like this and priced accordingly. Typical bar food, with a few unique (though still fried) options. Bartender and servers were friendly / helpful enough but appeared over extended - and this was around 9 or 10 on a weeknight during the summer... so not exactly a high traffic night. I cant say Ill be back any time soon, though I wouldnt say my experience was negative - just very much what I was expecting.

Went during noon hours on a weekend and was disappointed. Bartender was on her phone texting when we needed service and the chef made a comment about not wanting to cook since we were the only ones in the place. Not many vegetarian options. I ordered a quesadilla and the tortilla was soggy. Friends I went with enjoyed their burgers and food.

This is by far the worst bar I have ever been in. The manager kicks you out 15 minutes before bar time and takes your drink. I was polite and everything. I was only the there for an hour. Do NOT GO THERE IF YOU ARE FROM OUT OF TOWN. THEY DONT LOOK AFTER OUTSIDERS.

Townie bar with nice local flare. If you went to college around here in early 2000s youll enjoy the music (touch tunes) 4 Dart boards, golden tee, 4 pay per play pool tables, decent beer list with a smattering from a local microbrewery. Surprisingly good pizza.
