O have found that I have to carefully watch prices at the checkout as sale prices frequently are not credited at the register but rather the item will ring up at full price. My son and I bought a take and bake five cheese thin crust pizza from the Italian Express. Upon baking and attempting to eat, it was easily the worst pizza I have had in a long time. The crust developed large bubbles across 25% of the crust requiring popping Im the oven while cooking. When done the crust still retained a soft spongy consistency and tasted rather vinegarish, all indications of Christ that was too old.

Worst Hy Vee in Cedar Rapids. They dont carry half the stuff they used to. Its the smallest Hy Vee in Cedar Rapids and they open up the middle part of the aisles. So thats 12 foot or more in every aisle that has less food. Go to any other Hy Vee in town and just walk through the store and see the difference. You wont go back to Johnson Ave Hy Vee again. Ive been going there for 30 years. Used to be a good store. Not any more. Put a star bucks in and carry less food. Its a grocery store where you buy you food. They carry half the stuff they did 5 years ago. Will never go back.

service of staff has never been helpful or even to friendly for that matter. went in one time and wanted sliced cheese but everything was already wrapped, employee was sweeping and ready to go so my option was to buy 1lb even though I didnt want that much.

Not fabulous. The market grill was cold, the whole store was cold. My steak coming allegedly directly from the kitchen was cold. My the server didnt ask about options for my baked potato. The Hamburger chowder my companion had she said tasted like gravy

Management has no problems calling extra workers to help ring up customers. Its usually easy to find someone to help if you need help. Employees are always friendly and helpful.

This is really the only grocery store on the NW side of Cedar Rapids. Theyve finally gotten rid of the mini carts for the kids to push around and run into people and things.
