I stopped in here for lunch on a Sunday with a group of six. I saw their 4-star rating and thought for sure Id found a little gem. I was so, so wrong. I wont begrudge them the one star because our server was friendly and lunch was very prompt. However, if theyd spent a little more time on the food it might have been better for everyone. No one, and I mean no one, enjoyed their food. We ordered three vegetarian dishes (lo mein & 2 mixed vegetable dishes) and three flesh-eater dishes (lemon chicken, beef & broccoli, and some happy family type thing). The lunch specials came with a cup of soup that can best be described as a salty, corn starchy mess. I cant attest personally as there was no vegetarian option, but none of the meat eaters ate more than one bite. Visually, the soup looked like icky goop. I was surprised they even tried it. Our appetizer (fried shrimp) appeared almost immediately after the soup. Again, not something I tried, but with 4 people open to eating seafood, we took some home for the dog. The description I got was rubbery. The dishes were all served with fried rice - no options were ever offered. None of us realized wed ordered lunch specials until the soup came out. The lunch specials also came with crab rangoons. They were described as "probably okay for me to eat" because there didnt appear to be any crab in them. All the dishes were bland. Theres was just nothing exciting about them. Nothing tasty, nothing super fresh, nothing but plate after plate of sad vegetables covered in sticky sauces. My nephew ordered the lemon chicken and it was just weird. Battered & fried balls of chicken (expected) with some pineapple chunks and cherries thrown in. Pretty sure that all came out of a can. And when an eight year old describes something as very sweet you know youve got a bad lemon dish on your hands. Overall, the price was right, but we got what we paid for. Blech.

Been eating here for years. They have some of the best chinese food in the Cedar Rapids area and 2nd best rangoons behind Peis. They also have great pot stickers but unfortunately they dont serve them with the traditional soy-vinegar dipping sauce. Portions are respectable. I eat heavy and I usually get 2 meals out of 1 dinner. Theyre also fantastic about removing and adding vegetables at no charge. Example: I hate onions but my favorite dish there is their mongolian beef. So I always order it with no onion and add carrots, broccoli and mushrooms. Other plates I enjoy from this establishment are their sesame chicken, orange chicken, and general tsos chicken. Im a fan of their black tea as well. The staff hasnt changed much in all the years Ive gone there and theyre pretty tight knit. Give it a shot. If youre not sure what to order, tell them what you like. Theyll suggest something that should appeal to your taste. One last thing to note...they DO deliver. Not very many people realize that. Great for when youre having a lazy day and want some amazing food!

I have to say I have been wanting Chinese food for some time now so I looked online to see what was out there and this place has a 4.5 star rating, so I was like cool. I wish my experience was half as good as everyone elses. I ordered the Shrimp and Broccoli and it was flavorless, plain and simple it was disgusting. The veggies werent cooked, the shrimp was slimy and the rice was so sticky I couldnt get it off the spoon. I also ordered Egg Rolls, but they were not Egg Rolls they were Spring Rolls, I ordered Fried Wantons that were so dry I almost choked on the one I tried to eat, and I ordered Crab Rangoon that had no crab meat in it just cream cheese..... It was seriously a very disappointing experience. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. Plus the place was dirty, the carpets looked like they havent been vacuumed or cleaned in months. I can say the only decent thing was the waitress was nice. Way over priced for less than mediocre food.

Awful customer service. I called to order takeout, and the girl was extremely rude over the phone. She told me that they had only one size for everything, and that everything was $10, which turned out to be a big lie. She then hung up on me, and I had to call back. I get to the restaurant 20 minute AFTER my food was supposed to be ready, and they made wait an extra 10 minutes. They didnt even give me any plastic silverware or napkin with my meal, and I had to go to a different restaurant to get some because I wasnt near my house. I will NEVER go back to that restaurant.

Trent! Best service ever! There is an art to answering phones and running delivery; its a hard job and can be very difficult to be courteous and competent while dealing with delivery customers--often a demanding, impatient and intoxicated clientele. Trent was positive and professional, listened well, and took extra steps in multiple ways to make sure our food would get here and be right. I see why this place has a great record and I look forward to bringing our business back to them. Trent needs a raise.

Stopped by here for a quick lunch on a busy day. I was a little concerned when they didnt have a lunch buffet. No need to worry. We ordered promptly, our soup came out immediately and the entree before we were done with the soup. On top of that the food was excellent. I will definitely be going back to Beijing Restaurant.

*Very* nice staff. Egg Roll House gives you a crab rangoon and an egg roll with a combo though and this place doesnt. Seems to be the exact same price. If were getting delivery, well get Egg Roll House instead. If we want to eat out, well go to Beijing.

Never had a bad experience, combo fried rice has generous amounts of meat and all their hot braised dishes are tasty and crispy. If you choose to eat in they provide free hot tea. I eat here about twice a month, its good stuff.

This is my favorite place in town for Chinese take out. Their chicken is crispy and their veggies are cooked just right. The general tso chicken is my favorite and has the right amount of kick.

The best Chinese spot. Mongolian beef is perfectly sweet and savory and the sesame chicken is that perfect blend of saucy and sweet but still crispy as well. I also recommend pork fried rice.
