Im not sure what happened/changed, but Im thinking the short, bald guy and the tall Italian guy were corporate trainers who assisted in the opening of the new restaurant because as soon as they left, the place went sharply downhill. Weve spent a LOT of money with you but will not continue after what happened last night. Multiple plates on the buffet were VERY, visibly dirty. I informed the manager(?) who then had an employee stand at the buffet visibly inspecting both sides of every plate, right in the middle of a busy restaurant. If you watched her for 5 seconds it was obvious what she was doing. The correct thing to do in that situation would be to have all of the plates moved to the back to either be inspected or rewashed and then replace them with new, clean plates. After witnessing this I thoroughly lost my appetite. It appears as if the plates were only rinsed and put back on the buffet. Waking up at 3 in the morning and again at 7 with intense diarrhea is also another reason we will not be returning to your restaurant. This is not the first time since the original management left that I have been extremely underwhelmed with my meal. I dont know if its a trend but Ive heard that the one in Ames is dirty and people dont eat there for that reason. Something has definitely changed with the food quality/freshness and needs to be turned around. Sounds like management needs to get their priorities straight.

First time visit to this restaurant. The lady who was at the front was rather pushy in only offering the buffet, not any other menu item. I asked 3 times if I could be seated to review the menu before deciding and was not given this option until I just took it on my own to sit down. The floor was absolutely nasty, everywhere. The food was sub par, pizza looked like it had sat out for some time & there was not a great selection. The dessert options were limited and not fresh. The staff who were taking care of the buffet were not polite, and didnt mind to get in your way, cut in between you and the buffet with no apology & generally lacked customer service basics/essentials. The only thing that prevented me from giving this establishment a 2 star rating was that I asked for two different types of pizza that was not currently offered to be cooked & they cooked it fairly quickly. I would not recommend Pizza Ranch to my friends or family.

I called and ordered delivery. I ordered a diet coke with my meal, before getting off the phone I asked the gal taking my order if she got the diet coke on the order. She says yes. My delivery comes no diet coke. Called store and told them about it and was promised they would send me one. I hour later no soda. Called again this time I told a diet coke was not my ticket so I never paid for one. After explaining I was lead to believe it was, it never received, I was told it would be sent therfore its not my fault its pizza ranch fault not on ticket to begin with even was promised it was on ticket. The manager refused to even acknowledge that they may of made a mistake or even a simple miscommunication. He simply said the would nor deliver the soda it was never on the ticket so not paid for. The customer was,told it was!!

I have been here several times. It is always clean, very helpful and friendly staff, not overly crowded, and plenty of good food to eat at a well stocked buffet. I do not eat out much ...only about 2 times per week and Pizza Ranch in Ankeny is one of my regular choices. The chicken is the best even though their name starts with the word Pizza. Pizza is good also by the way and be sure to sign up for the rewards card because you will be back.

Very impressed, this was the perfect place to stop when passing by on a cross-country roadtrip to get out of the car for a bit. The food was good, prices fair, and staff friendly. The pizza and salad buffets were the stars, but the chicken, mac & cheese, and dessert pizza was a nice bonus. My only suggestion would be to have a wider variety of actual pizzas on the buffet. We will be back if ever passing through the area again!

Worst dining experience I have had in a long time. The food was mediocre at its best and down right unfit to eat at its worst. They wanted me to pay for a small childs to go cup after I had already paid for my meal. And then to top it off the manager developed an attitude with me. I will not be going back and their corporate office will be hearing from me as well

The worst pizza ranch experience i have ever had the chicken was all dry the buffet was messy and looked like it hasnt been cleened all day long their was almost no pizza on the buffet the whole time i didnt even see the lto pizza on the buffet. This has changed my outlook on pizza ranch as a whole.

I always enjoy the hospitality at the ankeny store i worked with many of them there and the management there is top notch the store is always clean friendly staff and good prices withgreat food thank you mike micheal and micah they lead the ankeny store and do a great job thanks for everything

This is a great place for family eating. Lots of tables, a decent buffet and great pizza. When you arrive and pay you are asked if you have a preferred pizza. They will cook your pizza and serve you at your table. Anythong left over will be added to the buffet.

The food was disgusting and i found hair in most of the items i got. Food in the buffet was mixed with different foods. The waiters were very pushy and white trash. It smells absolutley horrible and the place is not very well cleaned. I would not recommend

Having been away from the Midwest for years, I was disappointed to see what the chain has become. The buffet focused is only good if there is heavy rotation of pizzas before they get old. Will I go back? Yes. Excited about that? Not really.

We go here at least 2 times a month. Our son loves the mac n cheese and fruit selections, and we really enjoy the monthly salads and different types of pizza they come up with. In our opinion this is one of the best pizza ranches around.

It was pretty decent food and the staff were mostly great. I would have liked to see more gluten and dairy free options available. Overall there wasnt anything that made me want to go back again, which is why it I rate it at 3-stars.

I love their food. Nobody came to clean up our table though. February 1st 2017 around 7-8pm but on different days this one lady does a good job but she wasnt here today. Besides nobody cleaning up today I would recommend you go here
