I would like to start out with a thank you! This restaurant made me forget the fact that my hotel was going to charge me $9 for breakfast. This place is very reasonable in price, very personable, cute antique type decor, and food was AMAZING. My fiancee and I went there for breakfast because I use to live in Portage and went to the rosewood there once in awhile but was always told the one in South Haven/Valporaiso was better. Im glad I got the chance during my lifetime to go there. As with most times a menu offers a skillet thats what I get. And as per usual my fiancee said we should get a couple of pancakes to share between our 2 skillets. I had the jewish and she had the polish. Both skillets were amazing. Now for the pancakes. They werent super fluffy but they were just fluffy enough and tasted delicious. EVEN W/O SYRUP!!!! You dont get pancakes like that just anywhere. Our waitress was amazing and the only thing I regret right now is not getting her name so I could mention her on here. The 2 skillets; 2 pancakes; tip .... ended up costing less than 25... Maybe even less than 20 if you didnt like your waitress as much as I liked ours. This place is a must. I will always take at least one morning I visit back home from now on to go to Rosewood.

I have been going to the South Haven rosewood restaurant for 20 year. It is a dinner with ok food but nothing above average. The menu is very large with a lot of special so something for everyone. I meant some clients for breakfast today at Rosewood. Food ok, server good the normal until I tried to pay bill. It took a longer time to pay than ever!!! They have an ancient system form the Flintstones era. (See for yourself) It the first thing you see when you walk in. Over the last several months it has taken longer and longer to pay bill. Today was just ridiculous 10 minuets to pay why. This business like all other is trying to make money not spend it I understand. However if a business is not keeping up with technology it will die. I do not plan on going back at this point. I would say that I visited this business 20 + times last year. I have been here 7 times this year. So bottom line today they lost a paying customer.

The hambuger was one side cooked the other side pink. And then the waiter didnt offer me water when i ran out also the owner came out and asked if i was stealing. However there was a special called the piranha special where this guy that works there Nicknamed piranha, gives you a special massage but dont get your hopes up that guy is long gone. Also there use to be this chunky busboy who always says hi to me I dont think he spoke English but they said his name was Dio and he always gave me crackers

Cant recommend. Food is rather bland, you get massive amounts of food, however it doesnt matter if its poorly concocted. Service is OK at best. My wifes grandparents insist on this place every year we visit portage. So Ive been here about 5x. And the experience is the same every time. I would avoid this place if possible. It could be just my taste, but my wife hates it, her parents hate it as well. I dont see the appeal, maybe its steeped in the history of Portage?

My husband and I have been going here for years and cant say we have ever had a bad experience. If something isnt right, they will fix it. If you want a home cooked meal this is the place to go. Lots of menu choises at a good price. And the staff are always friendly and make you feel right at home. This place will continue to be one of our favorites.

Sick of seeing them posting "tuna casserole" on their sign every single Friday, morning that my work bus goes past that place! Why cant they advertise something else on Friday, besides "Tuna casserole"?! Also their flat screen tvs show nothing but CNN on them. During dinner service.

The one off central ave. Is good for breakfast but afternoon and evening staff very bad service. The one on Rt6 is much better now that they have their kitchen fights under control
