Okay, now, I know there are good reviews on here. However, having lived in New Mexico for a good 2 years truly has taught me what is authentic and what is not. My friend and I went together with my boyfriend (the one who lived his whole life in New Mexico and just moved here to Indiana) I had ordered Green Chile Rellanos, when it came through, they were gigantic and unusual. The batter were made in the wrong way, much too thick and too sweet. And I came to find that it wasnt authentic Green Chile, it turned out to be Chinese Giant Green Chiles which isnt the appropriate taste of Mexican food. The rice tasted quite stale. And the refried beans had that canned taste. My friends enchiladas were really old. The portions, however were much smaller than what we would normally get in New Mexico for a MUCH cheaper price. I would NOT recommend anyone to this place because the food has made my man very very sick for two days. It caused him to have a severe diarrhea and a few throw ups. The service was FANTASTIC but just not the food. I say they need a inspection in the kitchen BIG TIME because the foods doesnt taste right, and is NOT AUTHENTIC. I would recommend for them to get a new chef, preferably a experienced mexican/southwestern chef. Also, they need to learn all the proper names of Mexican food. The service was, again, very fantastic. My hats off to the waiters and waitresses. Just not the chef.

I have to say this is single handedly the worst Mexican food in the Midwest when I first stopped into this slop establishment I experienced nothing but slow service and so called "Mexican" food which it was not. All that I had tasted was canned goods and nothing of authentic anything if youre smart you will steer clear of this ungodly place. And if you are into canned goods buy yourself a can of soup a corn tortilla and give yourself a pat on the back for not having to leave the comfort of your own home

I dont understand how a place like spencer was able to aquire a texmex place of this caliber. Food is well priced and the portions are Midwest level generous. Service was quick and the decorations were the perfect balance of tacky and authentic to make one feel relaxed. Agree with previous reviews regarding the lack of hot food, but it sure is good!

Have been going there since they opened. We moved away and were sad we couldnt find a Mexican restaurant like"our" Mexican restaurant. Love the food. Have never gotten bad food there. Good service. So glad we moved back. Its still better than any other Mexican restaurant around here. Good size portions.

Server never once looked at me or talked to me, dropped every thing down like I had inconviened him. Coming from 7 years of serving I find a bad attitude totally inexcusable. When I brought it up he said "what do you want I have tables" ....there was literally 3. Service 1 out of 10 food 6

Great as usual. I travel the country and this is hands down bar none one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Midwest. Youll be disappointed if youre looking for heat of you dont ask them to crank it up for you. But theyve tamed the heat to suit the Midwestern taste in food.
