We chose Toast On Market in New Albany for a birthday brunch for 4 people based good word of mouth and online reviews. I was hoping I would be among those who raved about it as well, but that is not the case. Sometimes the little things add up. The food was a little overpriced. The ambiance was annoyingly loud and the decor was unremarkable. The fact that the restaurant was located in a restored building was awesome, but still very drab. The staff was very attentive and upbeat. I chose the Bacon and Egg Sandwich described as - An intriguing blend of Dijon vinaigrette, gorgonzola, crispy applewood bacon and eggs. 8.25. Although others had raved about the Lemon Souffle pancakes, I was in the mood for something more savory. The server warned me about the "in your face" of the cheese and vinaigrette - and she was correct. Maybe its my fault for not questioning her more. However, I didnt expect the "salad" that was saturated with vinaigrette and cheese to be a Major portion of the sandwich. I expected it to be more of a condiment. Instead this "salad" took up at least 1/3 of the sandwich. The egg - well cooked, bacon and bread were fine. The hash brown casserole - Im sorry but there was no way what I received could be described as hash brown-related. It was about 1/3 c scoop of what appeared to me to be leftover potatoes au gratin. I did have try a couple of bites of the lemon pancakes and they were good. One of my guests had the Monte Cristo and she seemed pleased as well. Believe me I wanted this visit to be a good one. The others who dined with me seemed to like what they received although I didnt really ask. I didnt want to spoil the celebration. I wanted this to be a restaurant I would look forward to visiting again but Im afraid that didnt happen.

Went for brunch. Had the bacon & egg with gorgonzola sandwich. It comes with what they call a hash brown caserole. Also tried one of their signature mimosas which they dedicate an entire menu page to. The his..the mimosas. Despite being out of ingredients for the mint julip mimosa (in Louisville!?!) the pear ginger mimosa was delicious! The Kentucky mimosa was just ok. Think regular mimosa with a shot of bourbon in it. Lows... or at least mehs... the food. The sandwich has all delicious ingredients but just too much salad dressing and gorgonzola. It overpowers everything else. You cant taste anything else but tangy vinaigrette and gorgonzola cheese. Might as well as left the egg and bacon on the plate. The soft roll its served on would be better toasted, or better yet, replaced with large thick cut toasted bread. Yup, change the bread and cut the cheese and dressing to about 1/5 of whats going on there and youd have something. Then theres the "hash brown caserole" Was expecting maybe a quiche dish with shredded crunchy hash browns and cheese on top, or a slice of a big pie like that.... sad face :( its an ice-cream scoop of potatoes au-gratin. Boo. This place is in a cool district and had nice staff. Lemon pancakes are pretty good. All in all I was underwhelmed mostly by my food.

The atmosphere and waitress were the best part of this visit. After reading reviews I expected the food to be better than average compared to other breakfast places. I was disappointed. I ordered the south of the border omelet. The chorizo inside was overcooked and the cheese was nonexistent. It couldve been called the desert omelet if not for the salsa and sour cream that I spread overtop that at least made it edible. My daughter ordered the special a strawberry and cream stuffed french toast. The french toast was supposed to be made out of brioche bread but the size of it made me doubt this. It looked like regular sandwich bread. Also the bread wasnt dipped in the egg mixture correctly so one side was french toast while the other was toast. The hashbrown casserole came with both and neither one of us liked it. This was the first time and probably the last time we will eat here.

My wife and I stopped here for breakfast. The staff took 5 min. to acknowledge us as we stood at the greeters station in the front of the restaurant. Other than that I would have rated it a 5 star. The food was great! It came out super fast and the waitress was very nice. She also gets extra kudos because my drink never went dry. I have an omelette and my wife had the banana oatmeal. Both were very good. Environment is nice and comfy. I would definitely come back.

Ive eaten here twice. The food and the staff are both great. They have some pretty interesting dishes like the bread pudding pancakes. The only complaint is that they have a breakfast platter that comes with regular pancakes but they wont let you substitute them for the fancier ones for an up charge. Why not make a little more money off me and let me get the lemon chiffon cakes... just saying. Other than that I loved the place.

Unremarkable food for the price. A garlic anything should taste like it has garlic in it. The garlic cheddar cheese sandwhich was pressed a bit too flat into more of a cracker. A bit of butter on the bread before the panini of death would improve the crunch. The Tomato Soup is good but lacks flavor. Coffee is strong as advertised but lacks body. Prompt and friendly service is a big plus. Not my last visit.

First, weve been there many times with good service. However, today I was alone. I was seated promptly by a nice young lady. I sat there over 15 minutes with MULTIPLE people walking by glancing at me, but NOT ONE of them bothered to ask me if I had been waited on. Worse than that, they seemed to have cared less. It was extremely disappointing. SO, I left and went to another local establishment.

This lovely establishment has the BEST french toast I have ever eaten! The atmosphere is great, the Toast staff are great (very thorough and helpful). My server was excellent; she made sure I had everything I needed- no questions asked. If this isnt enough of a raving review already -the hazelnut nougat latte will knock your socks off. I will, undoubtedly, be going back for more!

This was mine and my boyfriends second time here and we loved it just as much as the first. We came in knowing what we wanted so we didnt give our waitress much opportunity to suggest (sorry!). However, out waitress Tanya was very nice, polite, and efficient the whole time. With great service and great food, well definitely keep coming back

Hopefully, the trend toward the eclectic continues in downtown New Albany. And with this trend I sincerely hope that it attracts small businesses that value quality over all else. We are always searching Kentuckiana for new places to eat and visit, but really want a good selection of regular establishments thay satisfy. This could be one.

Party of 4 and a baby, busy Saturday lunch, seated quickly, place was packed but service was prompt and friendly. Menu was impressive, we opted for the specials which were all tasty and well prepared. Server checked back appropriately for refills and how do you liked. Prices are good for the quality. Overall good experience.
