amazing! as an indian i can vouch for the authenticity of the food, its more on the north indian side type of cuisine, very mildly spiced. theres definitely a north indian feel to all the dishes, if you want it to be spicy you have to specify it. the ambience is nice, ive been here a couple times. its def overpriced but i think they have to do that since they have to survive being the only indian restaurant in the area. i tthink their lunch buffet is worth every penny, check their FB they let you know what the buffet items are for that day consist of. i wasnt happy with the buffet naan as it wasnt the "real" naan...its like a pseudo version of naan. if u order of their actual menu, then they give u the real thing. BUT one thing i cant get over---their customer service. its run by him and his wife. he goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure customer quality care. i sometimes come here on my bad days jus cuz his friendly demeanor cheers me up. its incomparable! will definitely return! :) a lot of the indian students from bsu seem to come thru here

Hang on, is it the same place were all talking about? We ordered yellow lentils (carry out) - the dish was so oily and contained about a pound of salt in that small dish! Naan was burned and bland, chili chicken was bitter because burned, and other chicken dish was okay... The chicken pieces were not white meat and VERY tough and dry, the oil smelled like it never had been changed since they opened. I REALLY wanted to like it, but as a result, I had no dinner that night except for their rice. Add to that an unfriendly check out, and here you get my miserable Indian night... I guess its ok to eat there for lunch when you can try a few dishes and its not expensive, but you wouldnt risk your money and your dinner with Sitara. Brrrrrrr PS We ordered on 02/15/2012, check with your records maybe the chef was out of town... :)

Beautiful restaurant & very friendly staff. My boyfriend and I are new to Indian Food, & the man who greeted us understood this and took us through a tour of the buffet. Told us what went well together, what was in certain things and how spicy they were etc. Yummy food, when they say hot & spicy they really mean it. I almost couldnt handle the heat in the hot & spicy dish I got but it had a wonderful flavor. As did everything else. I ordered off the menu & he got the buffet. Everything was delicious and hot & it was laid out in a beautiful way on the buffet. It felt very clean compared to some other Muncie buffets. All in all a very interesting dining experience.

The best indian food Ive ever had! I had the lamb saag and my girlfriend had the pollock paneer and both were amazing! After dinner we were conversing about indian chai being better than american, and the owner came over and offered us a free cup of it. We had it and it was so good :D great food at reasonable prices. The servers were very nice too. :D definitely recomended. Edit: three years later and its still great. I live in Indy now and every few months I make the trip up to Muncie specifically to eat here. Definitely worth it.

Muncie does not have a wide selection when it comes to locally owned, non-franchise restaurants, so Sitara is a great place for something different at a reasonable price. If you like spicy, they have several items on the menu that will be right up your alley! Weve never had to wait, the staff is always friendly and they even helped us figure out something our daughter could eat that was dairy free.

It is still a good place for decent Indian food but it seems to have cut back a bit on its quality. The naan has the taste and texture of store bought, the chicken in the tikka masala was quite dry, but the sauce was wonderfully flavored. The staff and owner are warm and welcoming as ever and it is a cozy space. Just wish they had their naan the way they used to.

Very good food and the atmosphere really exceeded my expectations! The vindaloo and Korma are both excellent choices. Vindaloo is spicy, but still has excellent flavor. The Korma has excellent flavor with just a little spiciness. I look forward to going back. I will most likely try a tandoori dish next time I go.

Excellent food and service. They offer a good variety of dishes, including selections from Nepal, where the owner is from. I cant even pick out a favorite dish, because I love so many. Their noon buffets can give you a good sampling of dishes. Plus, they change up the buffet daily, there are always surprises!

Fantastic Indian cuisine. It seems most of the time you have to travel to a larger city to get Indian food but luckily Sitara is tucked away in Muncie. Have been to this establishment many times with many friends and I have never heard a bad word from anyone walking away after a meal.

They have amazing food, wonderful service, and the owner even came up and spoke with us to ask how we liked our meal and had a casual conversation with us. The cost was more than reasonable and the portions were massive. Ive never had better Indian food in my life.

The food is super good and almost equally expensive. I think that more people would go if the prices werent so high. On the other hand the food tastes authentic, and I doubt that you can acquire those ingredients very easily in this area, so it is understandable.

Celebrated 43rd Anniversary dinner here. Loves Indian food having acquired a taste fir in living years in London and travels to New Deli and Calcutta. Some of the best and Sitara certainly brings pleasant memories. So glad Muncie has a genuine Taste of India.
