Chinese/Asian restaurants arent all the same. Sure, many of them provide similar food prepared in similar ways for similar prices, but occasionally a restaurant distances itself from the rest. Taste of Asia does so in the following ways: 1. Flavor - they lean on Thai influence with some dishes, which definitely adds fuller flavor and a bit more flexibility for curious and/or vegetarian diners. 2. Health - As the owner explained to me, yes, they CAN prepare greasy sugary Chinese food (standard norm at most joints) if requested, but they try hard to offer plenty of healthier choices and preparation techniques. 3. Little Extras - exotic sodas and rich desserts abound in the cooler. Even if you absolutely wont eat anything interesting for your main course, drop by to grab some tiramasu or bananas foster and a tasty beverage. If you dig Chinese/Asian food but want to get past the usual; if youre looking for a nice selection of vegetarian dishes; or if you want to give your tastebuds a little more flavor than they usually receive -- try Taste of Asia.

I have had a lot of average Chinese and Thai food so when I wen to this little place in a strip mall, that was what I was expecting. Big surprise! This place is great! The food is more flavorful, the vegetables more crisp and fresh, the sauces really top notch. It would have been worth the money at twice the price. I had the green curry Thai "Limited Special". It is the best Thai I have ever had. The Spring Rolls were very good and the sauce was fantastic ("addictive" just like Bill, the owner, promised). And that brings me to the final point. The service is great and the experience is fun. I got take out, but would like to eat in with the obvious "regulars". Thanks for the good food Bill!

Let me just say that this doesnt look like an awesome place when you walk in. It does look like one of those regular old fast food Chinese places. However, it is not. They have great food. They have a lot of options. The food is very fresh. Another really good thing about this place is that they have a lot of vegan options and the staff know all about which dishes are vegan or can be changed to be vegan. They even went out of the way to make sure that there was no contact with any type of non-vegan food or cooking utensils. It was very laid back and not a fancy place at all, but, the food is awesome. I had the tofu curry.

Best Thai youll find in the area! Theyre Chinese selection is just as good! The owners and staff are knowledgeable about allergies and diet restrictions; making every effort to ensure that the meals are prepared to the customers request. The wait times can quickly become 30+ minutes, but the food is worth the wait! Everything is made to order with fresh, top grade quality ingredients. Bill and Proaw (the owners) bring a passion to their work that is evident in the quality of their food and the atmosphere of their restaurant. They also offer a 10% discount to college students, police, firefighters, and EMT.

I lived in Mishawaka for 2 years doing contract work for Notre Dame; Bill is hands down the most friendly, albeit quirky, owner youll ever meet. Ever get a chance to ask about how he met his wife, the professional Thai chef rocking out the green curry dish, its a story worth hearing! The food is bountiful for the price, and Bill and his wife put their all into this place (they even rent a house close to Notre Dame just to keep this place running.) For the home style cooking and authentic Thai cuisine, nothing beats it in the area. The only thing I miss about Mishawaka, is this place!

Its been quite a while but Ive loved this place. A great owner is a bonus for me, but not in the judgement. A great array of food. Ive enjoyed both the thai and Chinese items. Very very helpful with food allergies, also to religious dietary restrictions. Fun array of different sodas as well. If Im in Mishawaka its my first choice for this style of food. The decor is something very strip mall ish, which I have come to love for asain food.

A fantastic place operates quietly on Main St. serving the best Asian food in St. Joseph County. The food, as the others have mentioned, is made to order and prepared quickly. The owner and his wife remember my name each time I stop in (most of the time they pre-suggest my most-ordered meal). The food is good enough for a repeat visit, but the service is what turns one-time customers into regulars.

DO NOT order the chicken fried rice! Boiled chicken, no egg and very blah! Pork wonton were very sketchy also! On the plus side, we also order Generals chic chicken which was very good. The broccoli that came with it was beautiful! The Pad Thai had good flavor just dont get the pork. When half the people in the group get food that isnt any good its hard to give more stars.

I hadnt been by Taste of Asia for several years (since they moved to cook to order versus having the food already prepared to chose from). I really enjoyed several of their Thai dishes - great tasting for the money. The young man who took my order was very friendly and the owner as well when she gave me my food - i.e being sure I had everything I needed.

Best hot and sour soup I have had in years. I am very happy they are 3 minutes from my house. Bill and his wife work very hard and the food is really fresh and delicious. Inflation (caused directly by our governments absurd printing of money each month) is really hurting their business. I forgot about Ethanol...Damn you Willie Nelson.

Phenomenal... Id eat hear daily is my budget allowed. The Thai Pad is amazing... Ive seen the owner out and about talking and even eating with patrons... The place is super clean, the lunch specials are priced well, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. If you like good CLEAN tasting and looking asian, you need to come here!

Not good. Not good at all. Ive had better frozen fried rice. Im not convinced thats what I was served. It had an odd aftertaste. Very little chicken and no egg. The egg rolls werent edible. I highly recommend going to Ho Ping House instead. They make a fantastic fried rice along with everything else Ive tried there. Lesson learned.

The Chinese food was pretty good, but the thai food wasnt that good...we were visiting my daughter at college and she wanted some thai...she was disappointed..nothing compared to what we have back in Michigan and the portions was half of what we get back home....but the chinese was pretty good!

Far and away the best Chinese and Thai food in town! Bill and the rest of the staff always go above and beyond, and are far more personable than they likely have time to be on those busy nights. My personal favorite is the Pad Thai, but my wife prefers the Szechuan vegetable with tofu.

My wife got me wonton soup, the noodles were not cooked, they were dough in broth. Needless to say I spit it out and got rid of it. I have eaten other things there and it was OK but this time , I could have gotten really sick, if I would of swallowed. Buyer Beware is all I have to say.
