I wish I could rate this place 0 stars. I went here for lunch while I on a field trip with my band class. I was in the middle of eating, and I started feeling a little nauseous. (food poisoning?) I got up and went to the bathroom, (which was absolutely FREEZING, by the way. The bathrooms were colder than the temperature outside.) and sat in there for awhile just to make sure I wasnt going to vomit. After that, I couldnt even finish my food because I was so disgusted by it. So immediately after leaving the bathroom, I went to the dessert bar to get a couple of strawberries because I knew I wouldnt puke those up. As Im standing at the dessert bar with my (dirty) plate of strawberries, SOMEBODY WALKS PAST ME AND TAKES MY PHONE OUT MY POCKET. A GROWN WOMAN STOLE A PHONE FROM A 13 YEAR OLD GIRL ON A FIELD TRIP WITH HER BAND CLASS. Long story short, it has been more than 24 hours since my phone was stolen and the police still have no idea where it is or who it was that stole it. The employees managed to stop the girl who did it right before she was about to leave, but they let her go. When the cops arrived they asked to see the video on the security cameras and I later found out the cameras were never even on. My white iPhone 5s is still missing. It had a black otter box case on it. it was last seen on February 1st, 2016 at the Merrillville, Indiana Golden Corral around 11:45 A.M. I never, ever, ever plan on returning to a Golden Corral restaurant ever again. If you like getting your phone stolen and getting food poisoning, then this is the place to go. P.S, A couple of my friends also ended up getting food poisoning the day after we went on the field trip. I later found out that everyone who had gotten sick had all eaten some of the popcorn shrimp at the Golden Corral the previous day. (P.P.S; Dont eat the popcorn shrimp.) (Actually, scratch that. Just dont ever eat here. Period.)

I have no complaints about the food cause its always good and hot.... My issue is the staff... The staff is rude and unprofessional.... Very little interaction with the customers at the front of the restaurant...They were to busy having personal conversations with one another to even notice i had been standing there almost 5 minutes before anyone took care of me and my guest... Nobody ever came to refill my drink order or ever came by the table at all which is typical when i come SMH .... One young lady came and placed a bucket of cleaning water with a rag hanging out right next to my table while i was eating then she plugged the vacuum cleaner up behind my guest as she ate... Im sorry but all that could have waited til we were thru... The dessert area was kind of unclean and nasty and the young men that were working the station were using very foul language in front of the children. Food is good but staff and service are always not so good

I had a group of 16 people and was waiting for our table. The manager came and got us. She didnt even take us to our table she just pointed us to the biggest table. When we got there the table was dirty. So I went and told the manager that it was dirty. Well she told me to have a server clean it. I was so angry first of all cause she just pointed us in the direction of our table instead of taking us to it!! Second, that it was filthy!!! And third we didnt even know who the darn server was since there wasnt any around!!! This manager clearly doesnt care about customer service cause she sure didnt give us any!!!☹☹☹

This place used to be really bad but they have changed. The food is really good and they will make sure you are happy with it. Otherwise I have had the manager make me a special portion to ensure my happiness. The service is wonderful. They have changed almost all of their staff and these waitresses will not let you down. We only go during the day so I dont know what happens there at night. The restaurant desperately needs a makeover and the carpeting is gross and should be replaced. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THESE GIRLS WORK HARD SO MAKE SURE YOU TIP THEM!! We will be back an continue to go 3 times a month

April 30,2011 family/friends from Lafayette,IN, Ann Arbor,MI, Brookfield,IL and Merrillville,IN met for baby shower & lunch at Merr GC. Fresh strawberries, hot/cold foods available, server assigned to our group, maintained drink refills, removed used plates, clean restrooms, at noontime. Upon departure bus full of teens, people everywhere, after 3:00pm. We were

I went to the Golden Corral for lunch today (8/24/10) and was impressed with the food and the service. The salad bar is great and they had a fabulous selection of food for lunch. The hand battered chicken tenders were out of this world. I had a very friendly cashier who was efficient and friendly and he actually smiled and thanked me for my business. Then my server was so friendly, courteous and quick it made my dining experience very enjoyable. I was there shortly after it opened and the food was all hot and or cold as it should be and the desert bar was great.

Good atmosphere...delicious food. I noticed customers mentioned about Golden Corral bathrooms, but when the public comes in great volume of people...you can expect it to be messy at times, but normally it has clean mirrors, walls...and plumbing fixtures...and at time the floor gets paper drop by customers...but through the day, its cleaned...but impossible to stay spotless unless they hire someone to stay at it all the time. I would say, as the volume of people using the bathrooms...its as clean as any restaurant in America.

Except for Sundays where the price seems to be higher, this is an affordable place to go. Decent variety but dont expect to see too many healthy alternatives and most things are deep fried or laded with calories. That said, you can get your fill. The servers are generally hit or miss in regards to their effectiveness and friendliness. People that come here are a bit ovebearing at times, as if they havent eaten EVER, forgetting manners and attempting to "keep it clean and respectable." All in all, worth a visit on occassion.

Just trifling when me and my family ate here on yesterday baby they had families with kids and we just left due to no one watching their children while we watched them playing over the food that we have to eat. Seriously!!!! Never eat here again. We just left. Refuse to eat at this establishment ever again at least not this location! Thats why I cook @ home unsanitary conditions unprofessional. Our people make others look bad in public! It starts at home! Teach manners before you come out in public!

This was the worst place we ever ate, I got food poisoning was sick for hours none stop puking. we went Saturday night May 6th a family of 5. Place was dirty, kids running all over, Parents dont watch the kids, Never re stocked the food, salad was good, but awful place to eat we will NEVER go there again, They need the health department to go in on a Saturday! We went to the Golden Corral in Tinley park in the passed is was excellent
